good morning everyone hope you are well welcome to this video where i'm going to be demonstrating a short tutorial on how to find cvs on linkedin now this isn't a bulletproof method you won't always get the cv however it's another avenue to sort of build your candidate pool or if you're looking for a particular candidate this is going to be a good video for you so it's free easy to use simple to do so let's get into it let's say you're recruiting for a position and by the way add me on linkedin connect with me and i'd love to have a chat and what we're going to do is we're going to do a quick search on linkedin and what we're going to do is we're going to put it to the uk and we're going to search let's say i don't know um let's make it finance manager and we're going to type cv i'm going to start open to new at the end so cv space open to new and we're going to open this up what this is doing it's flagging up anyone that's a finance manager who's uploaded their cv at some stage and they might have their cv on there and if they're open to new opportunities it gives you a better chance you might want to take off that and just search cv um for for this purpose we're just going to look at these and unfortunately we're going to have to open all of these up and we're going to have a look and see if their their sort of cv is on there um so let's have a look i mean that's obviously not going to be on there because it's a you know branch manager for recruitment agencies that she's probably got on her profile cv and it's flagged it up like i'm good at finding cvs etc so the beauty of this method is it's very simple and easy to do and chances are you're going to find candidates that maybe aren't on a job board or aren't applying they just put a cv on there and they're happy to be approached and because we've searched open for new these are people that are on the market now or very interested in moving sort of you know positions no one's really going to upload their cv um onto a sort of you know linkedin because their employer will see it so these are people on the market now and a finance manager is actually a very skilled position so we're just opening up as much as we can for now and just give us an idea and the reason i'm opening them up a lot of people will not have their cv or will just have some sort of text that says please feel free to send me your cv so this person isn't going to have their cv on there it's just flagged it up so let's go through some and usually it's in this sort of sector here around there where the cv will be uploaded and it will say contact us so nope there's none on there unfortunately we're just gonna have to sit through all of these it might be somewhere on here and so you can look through so we're hopefully going to find a few on here so there's a cv there if you click it and we're not going to we're not going to show it because i don't want his mobile number on there um nope there's nothing there nothing there we might find a few more obviously you can change the search take open to new opportunities out and sometimes it's at the bottom here as well so you might want to check that and there's a bit you can upload nothing on here as we can see but this is quite a good method this probably somewhere here as well um let's have a look no this guy's a director i can't see him having these these persons regardless these people are open to new opportunities so you as you go along and you look to see if their cv is on there you might just want to send them a direct message sometimes they have a link in there and you can message them and say look can i see your cv or you know i've got a position i'm working for or you can approach them and say look i'm a specialist recruiter in this sector and i'll be more than happy to help you out um chances are there's a cv on here as well so you've got two approaches you've got the one where you can connect with them you've got the one where you can just download their cv and obviously just get in contact with them from there also you might want to look at like this person is quite you know available now he's quite someone i would want to reach out to if you're a finance recruiter you're not getting much you know vegas is come back connect with you know this gentleman see if you can genuinely help him out and you can contact companies local team and sort of lincoln area and just say look i'm working with someone that's got you've got experience he's worked for a footsie well i'm not sure if devlin's foot 100. you know he's worked nearly 13 years at a ftse 100 company he is absolutely easy to spec out and you know you can do that in an email you can call up and obviously you need annie's permission based on gdpr but i'm sure he'll be happy with that he'll tell you look i want this salary i want our salary you go on a job board and you find it from there so unfortunately we're not picking up a fantastic we're looking at some amazing profiles here but we're not finding anyone a spot on we're not finding any sort of um cvs we found one but obviously we can change the search and we can just do a little you know spend a few hours on it and you'll probably end up with about 10 15 cvs and that's more or this is quicker than actually posting a job advert if you post a job advert you know it takes time to come on there it takes time to sort of you know get applicants in not everyone's going to get notified on it this is the quicker approach to it so if you get a job on this should be your first port of call um if you don't have job boards even if you do have job boards this should be a last sort of option for you and i use this sometimes and i think i've made a few placements from it and it was via specking people
