E sign cleaning work order
everyone matt simpson here from VES welcome to the guide book of the week series where this week we'll explore a guidebook we've created a regarding machine setup and cleaning again even if it's specific to machine setup and cleaning and in that case specific to CNC machining lots of the elements you see there can be applicable for any other type of industry that is not necessarily contract manufacturing or any any manufacturing that is done not see and see but any other equipment where you have to do some setup or cleaning but even then you'll see that lots of forms that are added there it can be applicable to any anything related to maybe assembly or even a product line type of assembly or manufacturing so let's go in there write our instruction right here are we doing production work yes we are in that case let's start up a new job and first thing we will do is just scan our barcode telling we guess what work order we are working on and how many units we are supposed to build for that job and again you saw production order number here that could have been renamed to anything you can tie all the data that you could like to product an order number like this but it could be a work order it could be a job number a batch number whatever you decide in the end it's just a word that you can rename of course first step right here just showing us our work area setup when we look at the top right here we have information on how long our job should take and this is based on the standard cycle time that we've defined in our instruction so currently we have 8 hours 21 win it don't worry that video is gonna last about 10 minutes we're not gonna do the whole production of course we've got a hundred units to build that we even have time on how long it should take to do that initial setup and how long it should take for every single unit we are building so let's just move on through our first and here we have our first forum just telling us to do a pre-production inspection so now we can just hit confirm and continue but make sure we read every elements in there because there's gonna be traceability in our report telling our supervisors that we did that inspection at this time and it's gonna be tied to our name as well so it's just hit confirm and hit save second step it's just to get a bit of traceability again on which specific machine we are using in which program number we are using for this production we also have other just checks important to go through so we can just read them correctly and so the questions it's saved and just keep in mind look the machine that I'm selecting and a program number that I'm entering isn't displayed right here in the data section of my instructions and then I'm constantly reminded of which program I should be using so if I maybe I'm done for today I'm switching the job to a colleague then whenever he's taking over he can be reminded again of which program to select on the equipment in most of the steps you'll see or just steps showing you the different operations that will be done the other CNC so I can just go through read what's on there and make sure the picture I see are matching with what is currently happening if there's a problem I could have added probably forms that I can report a scrap or request help from somebody I can always if I want sent a message to maybe the quality department in that case the continuous improvement team if I have some suggestions so I can write them something there it's gonna notify them right away to come over but apart from that I've got pretty useful elements on this side here that's up there I just got simple alarm troubleshooting guides where if I do have an alarm related to operations I can just open this here and it's gonna open up a PDF I can zoom and of course and here's just telling me what to do or exactly what those alarms mean so this way I can probably those alarms right away what's these much faster than having to go and find a binder somewhere I don't know exactly where but that's the point now I have it right here now let's say you always have the same alarms happening every time what you could do is maybe build a guidebook pertaining to troubleshooting that specific alarm so when it pops up all you have to do is just click on the side on the link to that extra guidebook showing you the steps on how to trouble shoot this and resolve the issue and in that case you just fix the problem right now so you save some downtime but also maybe you save the machine from having a break also if you want if you want to capture data on how long your machine are stopping in for exactly which reason to be able to drive where to do your process improvements and where to focus your energy which is again it would be a goldmine of data well you can do it using a form like this very simple called machine stop or if my machine stops I just click on this here my form open and then I can categorize my alarm type and maybe enter the exact alarm code enter information and then in my report it's gonna say that person open up this form at this time I can leave it open if I want fix the issue and when I'm done I can hit save I can even require mechanic to come over if I want and then I will also have data on when that alarm was resolved so now you just got very very useful information that you can eventually accumulate and do some analysts it's on to focus your energy as I mentioned I also have another form here broken to report if I have a tooling the breaks I could probably not if I somebody by going seeing that first and asking them to have a new tooling telling them that they need to order a new one or I could simply click on broken tool report right here and fill in the required information sheets as the okay the pocket number of the broken tool add a description as the tool broken off yes or no I can even take a picture of that broken if I want to log and now again this will be saved in my report but I probably want to notify my buyer right away to just buy a new one so this form has been set up so that when I hit save that person just gets an email and then he can have all the information he needs to make that new order so all those forms and attachments are available at any time it doesn't matter which step I am they're available on the side here the rest of the steps in she's showing me to take off all the parts there's a couple of droplets here basically showing me that torques required to attach everything on here and they just blink one after another really just to show that there's a certain sequence I gotta follow say that it's oiling off correctly here I've got a little alert just reminding me that I got to stop for a couple of time for the machine to do its thing before doing the attachment and there we go peace is finished and when I'm done with my job again I can just continue to manufacture other I can move on through the steps again if I want or I can just leave it there complete my bill hit stop and just confirm the number of units that I have built and everything's gonna update in my report all my cycle time will be corrected to the proper one now this instruction was really specific to that one particular operation probably that you have tons and tons of operations and maybe you have some jobs that will only be done once or twice because your contract manufacturer and you don't want to have to recreate a guide book for each one of those operation or maybe you're just starting and you want to begin right now accumulating cycle time information accumulating total production time information giving your printers tools to access troubleshooting guides to report non-conformance issues to report when you have again sort of pertaining to the forms that I show so in that case you can just build a very generic guy really no steps and in that case the gas is not really used for the work construction itself it's just used for you to have a connected operator where that person if you need to do a job on a certain CNC machine he opens that generic instruction pertaining to that equipment so it's ready to do his job just hit start again scanning that work order in that quantity go through maybe a couple of forms here just doing the pre-production confirmation selected in which C&C was use entering the program number that you're using for that job and then just go through your production again now really looking at the steps now the guess is mostly used to capture and generate data but also it is used as a tool of communication by being able to open all those forms and in that case I've got new ones that I've been added such as one to request the quality inspector and things like that so that was it for the guide book of the week next week you'll see a guidebook created by my colleague Spiro and of course if you need help or you want suggestions or you want to incorporate the elements you've seen today I just contact your Vitas customer representative until then thank you and see you in a couple of weeks
