so I would like to make a video on how to make change we operate a business where our employees make change for customers not using a cash register or a calculator they use pen and paper and then they make change out of a cash drawer and it's incredibly frustrating to me when I get teenagers who come to work for me who have a high school education but they can't make change and then that they're not very good at math they can't do addition subtraction very well in their head and I want to make a video and show how to make change a fast simple way that is not taught in school and is just simple you don't have to have a mathematics degree to be able to do this it's just very simple and straightforward and I'm going to show you that so my future employees will have benefit of this video and anybody on YouTube will have benefits of this video so in school you're taught that your customer gets a purchase you add tax and you come up with some total the total we will say is 3 dollars and 61 cents then you're taught to subtract that amount from whatever they pay with and if they pay with a $20 bill you would sip at subtract 3 dollars and 61 cents from $20 that would give you a total of 1639 then this is the change that you have to give back so you have to get in your cash drawer and you have to get a 10 a 5 a 1 a quarter a dime and 4 pennies but a lot of people can't do that that quickly they're not able to do this math that quickly then turn around and make change quickly so this is what I want to show you a way to do it here's your only thing you have to keep in mind everything that you're taught in school you have to forget all of that if you try to marry together what you've been taught with what I'm about to show you it's going to cause you problems you have to completely do one or the other if you try to to marry this with what I'm about to show you it's going to cause a lot of difficulties so let's start with that same amount three dollars and 61 cents is the total of the customers bill and they paid you with that same $20 bill all you do is simply count up from this amount using change that's all three dollars and 61 cents you're going to use this as your I'm sorry I did not this was totally impromptu I didn't have a cash box with me but we'll pretend this is a cash box you're going to count up from that three dollars and sixty one cents three dollars and sixty two sixty three sixty four sixty five seventy five that...
