you all it finally happened lightroom added some new features and they are phenomenal let's go ahead and dive in and take a look and see what adobe has done with the newest version of lightroom classic in order to see the new version of lightroom make sure you go into your creative cloud manager and update lightroom to the newest version as soon as you open lightroom for the first time it's going to prompt you to upgrade your catalog to version 11 go ahead and proceed through that process and get into lightroom running the newest version now as with any new lightroom update there are a bunch of things that are new so i'll leave the patch release notes down in the description definitely check those out if you're interested in it there's been some changes to the metadata panel some kind of tweaks here and there the main new thing is the new masking feature and what this does like i said before is it replaces all of our local adjustment tools and puts them in one place in this new panel called masking to use it let's take a photo like this go d for develop and then in the toolbar at the top where we used to see our different tools we've seen that they've combined things into only four tools let's grab that fourth tool which is the masking tool and you'll notice we have a number of options now some of these we've had we've had brush we've had linear gradient we've had radial gradient we've had color range and luminance range with our different range masking options but there's two new ones and that is select subject and select sky in this case if i want to edit this photo of sarah i would want to use the select subject tool so let's go ahead and click it and i haven't done this before let's see what happens it's going to happen computer is going to say selecting subject and immediately we can see it did a phenomenal job making a selection around sarah if i go ahead and go command or control plus and zoom in a few times we can look around this selection and see that it did a really nice job so immediately it's super awesome this is using a lot of the object select tools that adobe has had present in photoshop for quite some time and they're finally putting it into lightroom classic now if you've watched my videos before you know that i'm a fan of the letter o we can tap the letter o to turn off that red overlay that shows us where is selected and where is not now with the overlay off we have our full suite of local adjustment tools that we've previously had with the brush radial gradient and graduated filter and we can come over here and we can play with these different things so if i...
