[Music] [Applause] [Music] down [Applause] [Music] well bam hey what's going on everybody jamie fen here and today i'm going to show you how to do the long exposure video effect in davinci resolve now long exposures are typically found in the photography world it's really popular with street photography it's also popular in nature and it's not as commonly found in the video world but that's why i'm really excited today because we're going to take something from the photo world and merge it with the video world one thing to note before we get started is that i'll show you how to do this effect and how we can apply it in different situations but it really does come down to how the video was shot and i'll explain that in the tutorial so let's get started i want to first start off by saying thank you to watsol i reached out on my instagram for some waterfall footage and he hit me back real fast and sent me some awesome clips his socials will be linked down in the description with that said he sent me some really amazing clips but unfortunately some of them i couldn't use like this one and the reason is is because we have the model in front of the waterfall where we want to do this effect this is the clip we will be doing the example on so she passes in front of the waterfall and then we will do the effect so first what i want to do is speed ramp to where she passes the waterfall to right about there so i'm going to right click retime controls click add speed point so you want to wait until she passes the waterfall and then select a speed point and then i'll do some slow motion let's go to just like 50 so once you have your clip ready you want to right click on it and select new fusion clip then make sure your playhead is over that clip and select fusion then you want to select median one hold down shift and press spacebar and type in motion trails that will automatically go in between your input and output so this is one example where the entire frame is moving watsol was holding the camera as the model was moving so as you can see this is affecting the entire clip because there is motion blur happening throughout the entire video so in order to concentrate the effect over the waterfall we want to select motion trails and then come here to where it says polygon select polygon then you want to scroll to the point where you want the effect to start so i'm just going to select right here and i'm going to select the waterfall okay so once you've selected it where you want the effect to start you want to just take your playhead and move it forward and just make sure that...
