from say yes cleveland.org you can find all the information you need about the scholarship and its application hover your cursor over the scholarship on the top of the page and the drop down menu will appear the frequently asked questions page goes in detail on what the scholarship does and does not cover and how it's calculated clicking the class of 2020 will review the entire application process and steps to complete the mentoring portion of the scholarship seniors in the class of 2020 click on the scholarship certification form to complete their say yes application students who have not completed an application will first log into the say yes portal and click on i am a new student the create new account dialog window opens where they enter the required fields to access their student portal students will be confirming their records from cmsd they are required to enter all information date of birth and high school id must be exact matches to what is already on record for the student only high school seniors can complete an application except for 11th graders that are graduating early those 11th graders graduating early need to check the box for i am 11th grader and i'm planning to graduate early at the end of the school year if they do not check this box they will not be granted access to the portal once logged into the portal they are required to complete the application students must complete all required fields denoted with a red asterisk students must check the account confirmation box students must enter an electronic signature the student signature must match their first and last name provided in the account information section exactly for e-scholarship to accept the application students are not allowed to go to any other page in the portal until they have signed and submitted their application students will be directed to their student dashboard on the say yes portal students will see their current eligibility status and information on next steps eligibility termination and award payment students eligibility status and username will be on the top of their dashboard if a student is cited as tentatively eligible then the student is on their way to use the scholarship if a student is cited as tentatively ineligible then the student has an issue with residency and or continuous enrollment and may need to appeal students that need to complete an appeal can go to cs cleveland.org hover their mouse or pointer over scholarships and click on the scholarship appeals link a page will instruct them on the details of completing appeal and will be taken to the application page to begin their appeal process students click on my colleges after reviewing the instructions students click on add school to add their schools of interest say yes eligible institutions are pre-populated and will appear as a student begins typing the name of the school [Music] students should also select the semester and year they plan to begin enrollment before saving their interest for example 2020 2021 fall semester students check the enrolled box to note that that is the school they plan to attend a student can log in at any time and update their school interests and select the enrolled box for their college university they must confirm only one college or university for the upcoming year [Music] sega strongly encourages college enrollment immediately after high school graduation eligible students can defer their post-secondary enrollment for up to one year after graduation of high school however they must indicate that they are deferring and must enroll in post-secondary education by the following year for example a member of the graduating class of 2020 who submits a deferral notice must begin his or her post-secondary education no later than fall semester 2021. if a student is interested or plans to enroll in a non-say yes eligible college or university they should select other school not listed and enter the name of the college in the notes box if a student plans to enlist in the armed forces defer enrollment or take time off for at least a semester or a year they should select other select gap option below select the reason from the drop down menu they can also elaborate on the gap reasons in the notes box after students submit the application they will get a follow-up email within one week to inform them of next steps please be sure to read through the say yes scholarship guidebook for important information about using the say yes scholarship after completing these steps an electronic copy will be sent to students via email una capia tambien esta disponible en espanol [Music]
