What active users are saying — electronic signature on mac
Electronic signature on mac
in this video i'm going to show you three ways to digitally sign a document on a mac for free if you've ever been sent a document or a contract that you need to sign and you're traveling working from home or simply don't have access to a printer you can digitally sign your documents for free with inbuilt software on your mac so let's get started and the first thing you'll need to do is open your document for signature in preview and it's important to add that if you have adobe installed you'll still need to open this up in preview so i've got a pdf document here and i'm going to simply double click it as i don't have adobe installed and that's opened it up in preview and we'll need to make sure that we have the show markup toolbar visible and there's two different ways that you can do this you can either click onto the icon to the far right beside your search bar or you can go to view and select show markup toolbar and with that toolbar now showing you'll see there's an icon that looks a little bit like a signature and that's to the right of the t which is a text icon which we're actually going to come back to in a moment but we're concentrating on sign right now and if we click onto the drop down icon besides the sign you'll see that you have a couple of different options here so firstly you can use the trackpad which is the most convenient but is really hard to use especially with a mac touchpad and no external mouse but you can draw a signature using this method if you wish to get started simply click onto the screen and start to write your signature and once you're finished you can press any key to finish and then if you press on to done you'll see that that signature is then available for you to use and reposition as you wish now i'm just going to remove that signature now and show you another method so the next option is using the camera and in this way you can write down your signature on a bit of paper and scan or take a photograph of it just make sure that for your safety you destroy your paper copy afterwards so i've just written down my signature on a bit of paper and i'm going to press on to the camera icon i've now presented my signature to the screen and as you can see it's now mirrored it it's showing it up pretty accurately so once it's visible to the camera you can then click onto done and that looks pretty clear so i'm going to click onto that and again i can reposition that if i wish now it won't actually let me screen record this but the third option which i've got to admit is my personal favorite is actually using your iphone where you can use your finger to digitally input your signature when you click onto it your paired phone will initiate with a new signature screen and you can sign your name with your finger or a pencil and press done when you're finished so once you've created your signature using either of the three methods your signature is then stored and available from that drop down and as i said you can reposition this and you can also resize it by dragging one of the corners inwards or outwards so that was pretty simple now just to finish off this document if you wanted to enter in your name and a date you can use that using the t icon we saw earlier on the toolbar so if we press onto that text icon and double click onto where it says text we can simply type in our name if you then click onto the screen you can then reposition your text and you can do exactly the same thing for the date and now that our contract or our document has been signed we can simply just save this document and send it on to whoever we need to so that's how you can digitally sign your document for free in three different ways with your mac and i hope you enjoyed this video today and if you did then please give me a like hit the subscribe button and please do head over to my website at everybodyhelps.com uk for more tips reviews and step-by-step guides thanks and i'll see you soon you
