How to electronic signature on macbook
so how do you sign a document if someone sends you a PDF and all you have is a Mac and no printer let me show you how [Music] all right so this next tip is going to be pretty straightforward I've actually had this in one of my other videos but it's something that I think everyone can use and it's super super useful so I wanted to go over it one last time so let's just assume someone sends you a PDF document let's say you're at work or something and let's say you're not in the office and you don't have a printer and maybe you're on vacation but you have your MacBook or something like that you have a Mac computer Apple Computer someone sends you a PDF and they want your signature Camp printed can't really send it back that way you can't you know it's hard to take a you know can't print it so you can't like just print it sign it and then take a picture of it or something so how do you get it back to them there's a built-in feature and basically all Mac computers that are very easy I'll show you how to do it it lets you bring up the document and make electronic signature on it save it and send it back so you can actually sign up with your mouse or if you have kind of a different device like a trackpad or something super easy this is going to be a super short video just wanted to show people how to do this because it's one of those things a lot of people don't even know exists they've had a Mac for maybe ten years five years and they've never even seen this before so a lot of things are going electronic now you know even like buying a house and things like that you can sign like chronically so let me go ahead and show you how to do this and it's going to take you know a couple minutes here super super easy let's take a look all right so if you want to go ahead and sign a PDF pretty easily there's three different basic methods but the one thing I wanted to show you is if you actually want to do your real signature there's one way to do it that's the easiest way to do it instead of just trying to sign it with a mouse or something but I'll show you all the different ways you can do it so first thing you want to do though is you want to open up a PDF file that you need to sign and make sure that that is in preview so I have a PDF file over here on the right now if you can see it over there I'm gonna go ahead and double click on that and that should open up preview can see preview up here in the upper left hand corner so let me go ahead and open this up I'm gonna try to sign down here so a couple different things you can do once you're in preview here you can fairly easily I mean there's a couple things obviously that are pretty straightforward but if you look up here in the upper right hand corner there's like this little symbol here it's a circle that looks like a little Pens in the middle of it it's called the markup toolbar if you click on that it'll give you some other icons over here so one way you can do is you can scroll down here and you can more or less click on this little pencil with a little squiggly line over here I don't if you can see that it's right over here I click on that then I actually have a pen tool down here and I can actually just scroll down here I can sign however I want I'm not gonna sign my real signature let it go you can kind of resize this and there you go so you can sign it that way if you've tried this before it's probably not the best and it'll end up looking like this so it's not usually a good way to sign if you want your real signature on something you know obviously might be legally binding but it may not look that good so let's go ahead and delete this there's a couple other ways so you have a couple ways and I'll show you though the best way last again you have to click up here this is that little mark up tool opens and closes this window over here so basically what you want to do is the next way is this little signature field here it looks like someone's signed and it's got like a it says sign if you mouse over but it's got like a down arrow with a little signature if you go ahead and click on that let's go ahead and click on it you're gonna see me in the frame because it's a camera that comes up and there's a trackpad here and if you click on the track but I don't have a trackpad with me so I use my mouse the last time but if you did have a trackpad you can actually click that and it will allow you to sign right here and it would save that signature so you can use it for next time so that's how you do the trackpad one you would sign right in this line with your with your track but I have a mouse that's not letting me do it with the mouse just keep that in mind you'd have to do it the other way that I just showed you but the easiest way to do this is you click on the camera here see where it says camera to click that and now it's lit up under camera and then what you want to do is you want to assign your surreal signature and I'm not gonna this is not going to be my real signature but you want to sign your signature on a piece of white paper has to be pure white for this to work that's what you want to do is you want to take that white paper and you want to hold it up to the camera just like this let it do its thing here there it is and you can kind of maneuver it and then you want to go down and you want to click done alright so basically now you have your signature up here you can see it you can go ahead and drag that like this right down to here and it's right off that paper again this is not the signature that is really my signature but it would be a real one if you did it you know if you did sign on that way paper or something real and you can drag it down here and see that that's now in there and it's pretty easy you can save the PDF file now and then they have your real signature in there so let's go back up here so again if you go up here and click on this again just really quickly you can see that it's still up here and you can save this fairly easy under your you know signature field or your you know the field inside of here so that whenever you do these PDF documents you can always just drag this out I think it automatically saves it just because I've already done it and you can delete it this way if you don't want it be saved in there I don't want this one to be saved so I'll delete it there and then it goes back to this so that's really it I mean basically if you want to get your signature in something like this this is the easiest way to do it it's just a really quick video there's a couple different ways so I hope this helps if anyone wants to know how to do it and there you go it's really really simple video thanks alright so what did you think pretty easy huh so at the end of the day that's one of the ways you can do it of course there's other ways as well but that's the easiest way to do and that I found I'm Catalina or any of the versions and I'm built into a Mac computer you know this includes Mac books you know IMAX everything else Mac minis so if you do get that document you have no printer and don't don't you know fret don't think that you can't sign it very very easy to go ahead and sign those documents just follow that and you're all set so anyways if you guys can subscribe to my channel I make videos tons of videos on Apple stuff a lot of PC stuff as well I kind of mix it in there but more on Apple I also do travel right now is not a good time for that obviously with the coronavirus so I can't really do too many of those and I also do Finance again not a great time right now so I'm kind of just doing a lot of technical videos but if you can subscribe to my channel I do basically two a week somewhere in that range in quarantine and notic actually at my studio house right now so it's gonna take me a little while to get that set up but I'll have a little bit better scenario a little bit better setup and I may be in a couple weeks or maybe a month or two so take care we'll talk you soon right
