my name is Igor and this is my company tag map and I'm presenting my project so let me introduce you to the team Igor is me I have a technical background used to look for Google Nicola is my old friends we used to study together and Don Campbell is my advisor right here and let me get you to the actual tag map is a mobile application and here's the problem that I'm trying to solve despite all the social networking sites there is still no real-time communication with people around us what I mean by that is we all care in the GPS device so I'm trying to put it to use it's not easy to meet new people based on interests and it's all started when I was sitting in San Carlos where I live and I was looking for volleyball players around so basically it would be nice to pull a map and just find people to play volleyball with so I did my search on Facebook so I found three groups some universities so it's not really helping me the next one is twitter twitter i have to have subscribers to tweet around the closest would be Meetup but in meet-up you have to set up your own group and later on you can use it so it takes some time so it would be nice to have it in real time so I created this product it's a mobile app it's a GPS search engine and I wanted it to be driven by users it's a proximity app so it just shows people around you everything is happening in real time when people move those icons move as well it has built-in search and chart so let me get you through details on this I decided to make my make my red registration also simple because I was sick and tired of those data inside and social networking site when you registered ask you bunch of questions on my app you just need to pick up the username the password and at least one tag I use tags to search basically this application mimics what we have in the streets the geolocation I know you geolocation because you sitting right here but I don't know much about you unless you tell me so that's kind of what I'm trying to get here so I decided instead of playing those games that we have some users close by like within two miles three miles I put all my users on the map I'm not playing games with my users I make it searchable by tags so if you type volleyball in the tag field anybody who has this tag in the profile will show up on the map so you basically narrow it down but by default you have everybody and then you can narrow down the search this way you can meet new people because obviously you can chat with anybody on the map and I made my interface very intuitive so this is just a simple map you can zoom in zoom out you can move anywhere you want in the world and privacy is the biggest issue on this app because now people freaked out they can see me where I am so I was trying to make it very simple there's a big green button right here if you click it you go offline you click it again you go online so you don't have to do any privacy like any of that settings in your phone it's it's right there you can also click this button to go to the list of users instead of like having everybody on the map you can just see them otherwise this is gonna hang it so what if she just went you want to play volleyball and she just wants to sell you volleyballs yeah she would show up correct she'd show up the tag is there and in your face and she's coming and make it and you don't really want to have that what are you getting there oh it down but yeah tags are completely free people can create their own so if you say would you would you put a little message to say I want to play volleyball and I'm gonna be playing anybody who wants to come comes to that location correct yeah you can do that it's coming up but so far yeah if you have any tag of volleyball in your profile yeah I will be able to see you if you selling stuff you still show up correct yeah so those are my gems that what I'm doing differently that no one that done before it's a delegated probe approach to a delicate problem those dates inside they're too straightforward you want to meet new people like if I have volleyball my profile and she has volleyball like here's a match and they trying to like hook us together so I'm trying to avoid this I'm trying to make it like as if you met somebody in the street and then you start communicating and then you pull more information and that's how you get to know each other I told you about the visibility button it's very handy and in your profile you can change your visibility now think about this for a second you have favourites so basically you can click on people and make them for your favorites they don't know anything about this this is like just bookmarks and then you make yourself visible only to favorites that changes the whole picture now you only people who you liked and see you on the map that's gonna go and one more thing currently I have a number of friends right there it's going to be changed into reputation index ask me later about the reputation index because it's a whole new world that can like bring you in to another level of this app so tank map is international this is the actual screenshot I was trying to run the app and I was running the pilot and when I was advertised in everywhere in the world the cheapest area was the middle list it's the cheapest user acquisition so I wanted the app to be user driven so I said okay that's fine that let's use the middle list the application has little dependency on English language so anybody can use it those edges buttons so they can figure out so all those people speak different languages most of them Arabic users but yeah it's like all over the world and they started to use it and so far I have four point-five writing in Google I have 1600 recommendation and this application is ready it's you can download from Apple Store or Google Play so it's fully functional and so it's on Android and NIOS and and how many use how many people are using it Don will get you through this next slide if you don't mind good Tommy so yeah so break it down from downloads 65,000 downloads which is created 40,000 accounts out of that out of the 40,000 accounts 16,000 in the last 30 days and you can see the rest of the breakdown the key is with what we look at is engaged users and we've seen a pattern of returning users sort of that what we call active users up there people who are interested but they may not find anyone that they're looking to chat with on that day or at that time and so we've seen that that number the returning user is about 85% of the sign-ins of the users in any given day however a significant portion especially when you don't have critical mass in their area will sign in look at things look to see who's around and then not send messages or not send multiple messages so the multiple messages with less than a day between sessions who are you to expect that but how do you how do you get rid of that how do you make it so people feel like there's something will show you one but that's what we've done that with 1200 people so 1200 people now have gotten past the barrier if they see people they get involved there in chats with them and what that looked like is this so this was a Middle East Joubert in October and what was going on here is we had not hit really saturation in that area so you know we had 300 engaged users a very small number you know spending frankly for us a lot of money on per day on advertisements and the the marker and messages really wasn't moving but as the number of total active users continue to grow we started to see a slow slope until we got around that 5,000 messages a day mark and earlier this month we saw the the number of messages in that zone take off so once you do achieve that critical mass so we're about four times the number of engaged act you know engaged users on this month that sent it out today we have 22,000 so far messages so that's right there wait you're saying I mean this this red line looks pretty flat the red line was October and I left it here as a reference oh I see weaving the the October line I guess playing this shows today we started picking up and then send more messages yeah and what happened January 19th I was running a test so I stopped advertisement for two days I wanted to see what happened I wanted to see organic growth I got about a hundred people today organically without any advertisements in that that time frame but so with a smaller amount of dollars we're seeing the growth continue at this point so we're at critical mass you know we've crossed either into critical mass or right at the critical mass point where it starts to grow on its own so flipping from sort of the growth and the usage and looking at just you know the the businesses itself you know the apps business is really big I think we all know that and we wanted to really break that down further and look at that comparable businesses that were out there so you know you could look at social networks I think a lot of people lately have been focused online as a a business model that's out there you know it's a free service where they're selling on top of that they're selling you know stickers and sort of in-app purchases that let people stand out within that market space and that's begun to to dominate their revenue and one of the things we've seen early on that's being used quite a bit is dating of the advertisements there were mix of three different advertisements that were used and the dating sort of social advertisement gets the most clicks gets the most throughput so if it does morph into more of a dating type of platform then there are some comparisons for dating platforms there as well all right so your net purchases yeah we spoke about this I got my first ten bucks in December selling those golden pills they bought a dollar each so obviously you can sell items to businesses and I also got involved with the company called session M which provides loyalty points so every time so people pay extra to be gold and correct there's some to show off to the color of the circle yeah the bridge Mike oh no the color of the circle is favourites are orange blocked users red and my friends agreed so if your goal what is the point you just show up you just go above the crowd the message stairs go above the crown for a dollar and apparently people click it it's just be more visible than everybody else you normally don't have this you have like one or two guys this could also be that person who's trying to sell volleyballs versus play volleyball they may want to you know have a special pin for that so that that yes they can be in the chat but they probably don't want to chat with the people who don't want to buy volleyballs so if they can make themselves stand out as selling volleyballs it's no mater you make money from that is there any other source of money yes I'm going to be selling a once it has to be bigger it's a proximity app it has to be B I'm gonna be selling items to businesses like if you want to place your business on the map I will create a nice pin and you'll be very visible but more than any user and also loyalty points when people get their loyalty points I'm getting money because they look at advertisement advertisers pay session them session and pays me what loyalty points whatever hit the app there is a little banner you earned 10 points thank you for coming to the app so you click yes I need to collecting those points when you get 12,000 so whether you're using your own users okay they get 12,000 points and what are they get they get $5 Amazon card or Starbucks card so they can actually get some good from there and they'll like it apparently people use it a lot for it's only working in the u.s. I asked those guys they don't have it for Middle East yet but it's working in the US and it's working well people stay on the app just to give those points loyalty points so this is my forecast 2014 I estimate expenses to be about 500k and I will add some features the newest the newest feature that's coming out probably in the end of this week or next week would be photo pictures exchanged and when you create avatar you can have up to five pictures so when you have somebody on the screen you'll be able to click on his picture and see like these five pictures and exchange pictures as well that will increase the traffic because apparently people want that stuff to be there and I'm looking for seed investments and you are between half and what 1.5 mil and this is it download and enjoy it alright John I'm trying to figure out how it gets big in revenue I mean I I can see you know a lot of people downloading and thinking it was great yes so my two questions are aren't there a lot of other alternatives for people right now and is this enough is that the proximity thing is that enough to grab those people two things proximity with privacy together yeah that's hard that's hard to achieve that's what most of those big guys are liking Facebook can I do this they pull too much information from user Google cannot do this google class has all the information and data size can I do this I think compared to their messaging apps that are out there like line and you know the list of others it's got a better unique way to find people with similar interests you know and that that whole geospatial peace with the searching is something that does stand out as you know most of them are for people to chat with somebody no but if you want to find entrepreneurs having coffee you know or breakfast tomorrow morning yeah it's it's much more difficult to do that another benefit none of this information is cast like if I remove attack from my profile I've gone from the map there's no like Google search on me I'm gone completely if I go like if I hit that green button go fly and I'm gone nobody can see me so I keep it very clear and then how does it get big how does this become a big business from a revenue perspective versus users yeah just I mean of people gonna viral marketing the next yeah okay so let's say you've got this up to five million downloads which means that about I don't know maybe let's see if I that'd be like a hundred and twenty thousand or engaged at any one time yeah with the density yeah okay so that's enough to sell some ads so you're gonna be selling little pins right and advertise like big acts for businesses right where where's the advertisement gonna go alright it's gonna be on the map like that the pins yeah business pins versus pins and then I mean but doesn't that ruin your experience you're sitting there and you're looking for friends and all you got are like IBM advertising so I'm trying to keep the keen eye like my users and I'm trying to get the best experience they can do what ways did for example they made a contract with only one company I think it was Pizza Hut or Taco Bell yeah Taco Bell so and you're really limiting your market size if if it's gonna be an advertising driven model correct is it gonna be subscription ever or is it just I can make it happen yeah but in app purchases so if you look at line and some of the other messaging apps that are out there the in-app purchases directly to you know the folks that use the app are really driving their revenue so it's it's things like selling them additional emoticons selling them at that pin that looks different selling them the ability to sort of stand out in the crowd and people are willing to spend you know a couple of dollars here and there they get a pin for a limited period of time and so you can you can generate revenue you know off of that that group of users as well directly without having to go through an advertiser does it work I mean I'm thinking I go and I'm the only times I'd turn this thing on where when I was looking for a volleyball game and so there's no incentive I wouldn't have a big incentive to turn it on otherwise so it's just like hey I'm available okay good thank you [Applause]
