hello everyone welcome back to my channel my name is Mitchell Losey and today we're talking about contracts so you just started your photography business you just started your video business and you have a client you've caught inquiries people that you know people that you don't know and you kind of have this kind of like weird relationship because you know you want to get paid they don't they have a service never really mentioned price you haven't mentioned price you don't really know what's going on let's say continue down that route you do the work for them and you still haven't talked about like how much you're getting paid what necessarily exactly they want and you finish the project you show it to them they ask you to send it over still money hasn't been talked about and you're like okay I'll just send it and then now after all of that you have to bring up money and you don't know how it's awkward you're not really sure if it's okay for you're asking for for what you did for them and you just feel uneasy about it you throw a number out there they don't like that number you're like crap that's like the minimum that I need to get paid for so now what do you do like you're screwed because you didn't have anything in writing you didn't set your expectations before you did the job and it just sucks to be in that boat I've done it before with my first couple of jobs it's really stressful it's really annoying and the one thing that solved that is having a contract I know when you hear contract it sounds legal and overwhelming and everything but it really doesn't have to be that hard it's pretty straightforward once you figure it out the first time and it just takes a little bit of work to get that set up that first time so then after you already have a contract it's pretty much a plug-and-play for each job you can just put in the fields the types of service you're doing and then it's good to go from there so I'm going to go over the important tips in a contract where you can find some also give you a special deal on a service that comes with templates for contracts because I know it's really hard to figure out maybe just google photography or video contracts you're gonna get a lot of weird maybe out dated templates and they're all gonna be a little bit different so the few things you're gonna want to make sure in each of them and there's a couple different services you can use to streamline the whole process and make it easier and I'll go over one that I use because I'm familiar with it I use every day and I think it's totally worth what it's what it costs so and just to preface all...
