wife wife wife you welcome to the e tutorial series on how to complete a temporary quarter subsistence expenses or tqs see claim for civilian relocation part 1 the entitlement of TQ se is offered at the discretion of the new permanent duty station and is intended to reimburse some of the expenses incurred while occupying temporary quarters such as lodging food and other necessities the series will detail how to submit your claim using the DD form 1351 - - and where to find additional information the entitlement of TQ se must be authorized and stated in your traveling orders DD form 1614 if you reside in lodging prior to authorization you will not be eligible for reimbursement for those days the authorized allocated time for the entitlement will begin as soon as you or any of your dependents enter lodging but may be stopped for official travel such as temporary duty and route travel or approved sick leave only TQ SE can be offered in one of two forms actual expense reimbursement or as a lump sum payment the form of TQ SE will be stated in block 14 a of your DD 1614 and cannot be changed the per diem for each day consists of reimbursement for lodging meals and incidentals first a TQ SC lump sum will provide payment for expenses incurred by you as an employee and your dependents for a maximum of 30 days and cannot be extended beyond that duration the lump sum payment will be determined based upon the locality per diem rate at the old or new duty station in effect when the offer of TQ se was accepted you as the employee will indicate which duty station you occupied temporary lodging in block 18 of the DD 1351 - to form to identify your locality per diem rate visit the u.s.
