[Music] [Music] good evening brethren today we start with our annual prayer and fasting week this is a very important part of our life as a church where we concentrate together as a body of christ into prayer we know that throughout history god has called us his people to humble ourselves in prayer and fasting as a spiritual family we practice prayer and fasting to deepen our intimacy with god [Music] fasting has been a weapon that god used to bring about advancement for his kingdom move nations spark revival and bring victory to the lives of his people now this year our theme for our prayer and fasting is waiting on god one of the most important lessons in life is to wait on god and so i invite each and everyone whether individuals or families or a group let's come together be intimate with god this week approach his throne with humility and expect god to move let us wait on god for him to pour out his blessings to pour out revival upon our lives upon our church upon our nation and upon our world today why don't we come together as we worship the lord tonight join us in this prayer and fasting worship [Music] your faithfulness and blessings [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] my has been restored [Music] forgiveness [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you are worthy [Music] [Applause] me you are worthy you are worthy [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you're [Music] [Music] me everything we have comes from the lord and we thank god for every blessing [Music] when he paid a highest [Music] in christos his righteousness and i will cling to christ my his mercy reigns now and forever [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] one can [Music] jesus [Music] jesus [Music] jesus [Music] [Applause] is [Applause] [Music] nothing but [Music] nothing but [Music] jesus makes me [Music] jesus nothing but the blood of [Music] jesus at this point brothers and sisters we come before god in not only in prayer but also in reflecting upon his word let me read isaiah chapter 40 verse 31 the word of god says but they who wait for the lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint how many of us here like waiting i surely believe that none of us really love to wait but the truth is in this life we all need to wait we wait for us to be able to fall asleep at night we wait for a person to reply for the recent message that we sent him or her we wait even for our deliveries from maybe from lazada or from shoppie or maybe we wait for the 15th or the 30th of every month which we would consider as the most important dates of the month the truth is in this life waiting is a part of our daily life now we wait for all sorts of things but how about waiting on god what does it mean for us to wait on god now psalm chapter 27 verses 13 to 14 says i remain confident of this i will see the goodness of the lord in the land of the living wait for the lord be strong take heart and wait for the lord now let's try to to study and get the context and the meaning of isaiah chapter 40 verse 31 which is the base basis for our reflection this evening now waiting here okay we wait on the lord means to wait on him to act to deliver to save to avenge to answer our prayers to provide for our needs and even to renew our strength to reveal his glory and to do what only he can do now in verse 30 the verse before verse 31 it says even youths shall faint and be weary and even young men shall fall exhausted but they who wait for the lord shall renew their strength now the truth is even with young age even those who would consider themselves as as young as fit and strong they would experience exhaustion and in reality even an end to their own strength everyone each and every one of us needs to rely on god and to wait for his help now in this passage in this chapter in isaiah chapter 40 we speak here or we talk here about a god a famous god a well-known god who we need to wait on for okay says in verse 12 of isaiah chapter 40 he is a god who measures all the waters of the earth in the palm of his hand he marked off the heavens and he collects every particle of dust on the earth in a basket in verse 15 he knows the exact weight of all the mountains islands and hills verse 22 he sits on a throne above the planet earth watching us and he dwells in a tent made from the canopy of the heavens verse 24 he is a god who causes earthly rulers to wither with his breath and in verse 26 he brings out the stars each night by column calling each and every one of them by name this is the kind of god on whom we should wait for we wait on him because he is god all-powerful almighty sovereign god and not us he can surely accomplish what we cannot do nothing is impossible with him we are helpless and we are hopeless without him now we have to understand brothers and sisters that yes waiting may involve time but with the lord with god his concept of time is very different and nothing like ours waiting is something that is only possible within time god the creator of time is not limited by time when we are waiting on him to act he has already acted ii peter chapter 3 verses 8 and 9 says with the lord a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day the lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understands lowness instead he is patient with you god is patient with us he understands waiting his concept of time is nothing like ours and yet his timing is perfect one story in the bible that shows waiting and proves the importance of waiting is found in john chapter 11 wherein god uses waiting to reveal who he is to reveal his glory john chapter 11 tells of of the story of lazarus a close friend a very dear friend of the lord jesus christ now lazarus got very sick and his sisters martha and mary sent word to jesus instead of hurrying immediately to help you know jesus delayed his arrival on purpose and lazarus died by the time jesus showed up lazarus had already been in the grave four days this was something that was intentional jesus plan was to raise lazarus from the dead revealing his glory his glory as the resurrection and the life as what he had said in john chapter 11 verse 25 in other words jesus knew that lazarus would get sick even before he had experienced any symptom every day ordained for each and every one of us was recorded by god before one of them ever came to be psalm 139 verse 16. lazarus days were literally were numbered and so are ours before martha and mary sent for jesus jesus already had a plan and his plan involved making them wait the god who calls the stars by name is not surprised by the circumstances of our lives he knows he has always known and waiting is part of his plan for us brothers and sisters waiting is good for us if god acted immediately upon each and every time we cried out to him we would be in control and not him we would be the ones who would be calling the shots and we surely don't possess his wisdom having to wait causes us to learn to trust him and his timing how well are you in waiting on god and what is god doing within each and every one of us while we wait on him while in that waiting room what is god shaping in you what is god teaching you may it be that as we wait on god we will also aim to learn to grow to know more about him because the waiting is not in vain psalm 27 verse 14 says wait for the lord be strong and take heart and wait for the lord he rewards those who wait and this timing is perfect i'd just like to to add a few more a few more verses tonight as we reflect more on on waiting on the lord i just like to read these verses read through them psalm chapter 25 verses 45 make me to know your ways o lord teach me your paths lead me in your truth and teach me for you are the god of my salvation for you i wait all day long psalm 37 verse 7 be still before the lord and wait patiently for him fret not yourself over the one who prospers in this way over the man who cries out evil devices psalm chapter 27 verses 13 to 14 i believe i shall look upon the goodness of the lord in the land of the living wait for the lord be strong and let your heart take courage wait for the lord hosea chapter 12 verse 6 so you by the help of your god return hold fast to love and justice and wait continually for your god lamentations chapter 3 verse 25 the lord is good to those who wait for him the soul who seeks him micah chapter 7 verse 7 but as for me i will look to the lord i will wait for the god of my salvation my god will hear me isaiah chapter 64 verse 4 from of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear no one has seen a god besides you who acts for those who wait for him and psalm 130 verse 5 i wait for the lord my soul waits and in his word i hope brothers and sisters may we turn our waiting into a time of blessing indeed god is doing something indeed god is working while we wait at this time let us now come before god in prayer this night we will be focusing on the world and those who are unreached when we say unreached basically people who who do not have knowledge yet of what the gospel is who don't know who jesus is as lord and savior and surely these are people who if never given the chance to know the truth from the word of god will surely be bound for judgment and help and our prayer tonight will be focused on on the church on missionaries on us individuals believers in sharing the gospel in reaching out the lost we'll be praying for missions as well we'll be praying for for for countries to to be open for nations to be open for the gospel even in in these hard times at this time we will be posting some items for our prayer focus this evening please go through each and every one of them as you come before the lord in prayer [Music] [Music] lord for this night we come into your presence with thanksgiving and praise for who you are and what you've done lord for for thousands of years on this earth you have been working mightily and moving among the nations you have displayed your glory and your power and lord we thank you that indeed millions upon millions of people have come to the saving knowledge of the lord jesus christ and lord thousands of of people groups all over the world have heard the saving message of the savior and for this lord we are grateful yet lord in our hearts we feel the heaviness the burden lord for the multitudes of this earth we still do not know who jesus is and do not know his saving knowledge the gospel the good news and the grace that you have given for us that we might be redeemed and lord with these people in mind with the nations of the earth we pray to you today lord god almighty you gave this promise to your son and through him to your church ask of me and i will give the nations to you as an inheritance sovereign lord in response to this promise and with faith in your ability to answer we ask for the nations we ask that the unreached people groups of the earth will hear the gospel of the lord jesus christ we ask for nations to be brought to the light of the truth to be saved by grace lord of the harvest [Music] our savior taught us to ask you and send out laborers into the harvest field for it is abundant and plentiful and so we ask there is a great need for many more workers pastors church planters evangelists missionaries educators disciplers father we we raise up these people and we ask oh lord that you would empower them and equip them that they may be sent out as they are very much needed to all the world today to all the nations lord jesus we thank you for for loving us and forgiving your life for us redeeming us by your grace and your mercy hear our pleas today o savior [Music] you commissioned us to go into all the world to take the good news to all creation and we cannot do this without your help so we implore you help us stir the hearts of your church awaken us to the cries of the lost to the voice of the nations who have not heard the gospel give us a renewed vision to see the fields that are ripe ready for harvest that we may raise up to answer your call to fulfill your great commission for us may we not rest until the gospel of the kingdom has been proclaimed into the entire world to the thousands of people groups who have not heard then and only then can we anticipate your second coming your return in glory to be united with your bride the glorified church universal and triumphant holy spirit paraclete and comforter of the church we need your grace we need your strength and your help it is only through your power that we the body of christ on this earth can be effective witnesses in our own homes our neighborhoods our cities our provinces our countries and to the uttermost parts of the earth equip empower and help us we pray spirit of god we ask we humbly ask you to work in us we ask that you work in the hearts of of the peoples of this earth as well jesus told us that no one can come to the father unless you the holy spirit draws them extend grace to the unreached peoples of the world prepare their ears to hear the gospel their hearts to receive it spirit of grace also equip and empower missionaries ministers pastors indigenous workers to engage in evangelized unreached people groups around the globe save the lost reach the unreached bring the nations of the earth to the cross to the church to the throne of god sovereign lord god it is with faith in your saving name and in your immeasurable power that we ask for all of the unreached people groups of the earth to be saved reveal yourself to the world save the nations may all peoples everywhere hear the message of our savior and redeemer with great confidence we believe that you will hear and answer the cry of our hearts and we look forward to that day when our prayers will be completely answered and we will stand with that great multitude which no one can number of all nations tribes peoples and tongues standing before the throne of god and before the lamb clothed with white robes with palm branches in our hands and we will together cry out to you hallelujah blessing and glory and wisdom thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our god forever and ever amen and to the lamb of god we will cry you are worthy for you were slain and by your blood you ransomed people for god from every tribe and language and people and nation and you have made us a kingdom and priest who are gone and we shall reign on the earth hallelujah hallelujah lord god almighty the only one true and living god pray all this in the mighty and glorious name of the lord jesus christ and in the name of the most wonderful holy trine god father son and holy spirit to your eternal honor glory and praise amen and amen brothers and sisters i you hope that with with the reflection from the word of god god has created a stir in your heart to continue to pray for the world and for the people of this world the unreached people of this world [Music] has be forever [Music] tonight i'd like to to end us with a closing prayer let's bow our heads [Music] heavenly father we thank you for this time of worship we thank you dear lord that tonight we can bring to you all of these requests and just lord while we are waiting we know that you are working and moving within each of us lord we don't know yet what will happen we don't know yet what is to come and yet lord we proclaim that our only hope is in you lord we don't know as to when this this pandemic would be it would last i don't we don't know as to how many more months or years and maybe lord we have been waiting seems like we've been waiting for so long but thank you dear god that we can indeed wait for you and you will renew each and every one of us who hope in you with strength that you alone can give heavenly father we thank you that tonight we can bring to you unreached people and people groups even lord for those who we may know personally maybe there might be members of our family our co-workers who don't know jesus yet as their lord and savior we pray heavenly father that made me that we would be able to minister to them to reach out to them not only with words but with our lives as well but they may know the saving knowledge of your son jesus christ bless your people for the rest of the days of this week even lord as we continue to come before you in prayer even lord as we fast give us the strength to to commit and to pursue this lord for your glory alone we thank you dear god for all of these things now with the love of the father the grace of jesus christ his son and the peace of the holy spirit be with us all now and forevermore amen and amen thank you for joining me in this first night of our prayer and worship night and i do hope that god
