what is code template so template you guys are very well aware because we have several templates in Salesforce like email templates so template is nothing but how you organize something it's it consists of constant and dynamic information and but it's it's like it's information which you are generating but or developing again and again so you are giving that power to your users that they don't mean to type in everything again and again but just taking a four but the system will pick up the Boston and the dynamic values and generate a format so for template is when you use the information related to both at code related objects and generate it in the form of a document so that is a code template why we need it because yes we have done or everything we have done pricing we have done codes we have seen a lot of things but till the time that is not actually communicated to the customers it's not a very much useful thing so ultimate goal is always to tell the customer so that's why it's very important to have a core template now let me go to the template so this is my not most of the things you have already seen into this session what we will be focusing is on four but this will be differently selected so if you think this is the one which your users are gonna use a lot then please select it so I'm gonna select because I'm gonna use it deployment state is there are two option in development and employed so in development means you are still working on it and it will not be visible for your user to use so till the time it's in development and you all you are it I actually want to show you guys one more thing like I open one when you don't select anything how what d-4d CPU does is suppose I take this one has with volume so right now in my template this template nothing is selected so what it does it it has some pre the default settings so if I preview the document it will show me the predefined information but as soon as I specify my thing it will people what I'm not shown that option you need to select it to see the bottom are saying even though if you do it in the template it will not show till that I mean the code somebody have selected it so now again I bring you the document and review and you can see these this was a watermark I have used sample sample so it's not showing and I am immediately developing it because it's very irritating it's not a very good for a month okay so this is about the cross-section this is something I created as develop it so I will show you later generate the name is if you're using visual force page then you have to give here that option that value now in the second section then you have this page information where you can specify the height tilted in the margins of the document so which from the CPQ package these are all the information these are some some I created so I will show you how you can create different contents in it so when you click on new you can see there you get a various option like HTML line items code terms custom template template top what are the differences I will tell you right away so HTML is something if you are writing your content in HTML format so you will select HTML and if you select template bottom and template top also these are also HTML formats but why they are defined as different options because it's a very well return HTML information with almost all the things you want to put in your template it's it's like a base for you you can make adjustment in it but if you don't want to make it just a memory your requirement is totally different you can go go with the HTML but I I'm on let me explain others before so line items and code terms are actually the placeholder for other items so line items are nothing but your code line items I have shown you right in this one where we were adjusting the table so that is the line items and now you will ask me if it's already there by me to create it because that is something t4 when I don't have anything selected in section but as soon as I select them within the in the section the hole the whole thing will go off so then I need to put all the components in it so I need to create really messes up the formatting so the most ideal way is you go to your source and then you can make changes in in your information so what I will do I just go back to the original one and I will template so let me just put 90 years so in between whenever we add section it will always come and then and we can also make it required or not required if we don't check this box then user will have an option to select or not select this document when they generate the document so right now I will not select because that will show you both the options how you are going to see it so let me see additional document let me go back to my sections again and my quote template now we know of concept of line columns and we know the concept of section and how we can get section we have to create a template content so we know all of those things in the same manner I will now create a header content so what is the difference between what you do in the section and what you put it here and then further content will appear in your every page and the predefined location we have said so header will be able to talk with the set margins and footer will be at the bottom with the set margins so I will create four header one one template content which I have already created one yesterday just for you guys information what i did i firstly tried to use yeah i if i create I have to lie first I tried actually to write and put all styles and formatting here it was not appearing at all because it's mhtml content so just it may looks like it's very easy but ya know you have to go back and like information but there is one slight limitation is that whatever field you are using should contain either true or the false values so if you are taking any text the text it should only have true as a text or forces of checks and actually it doesn't even matter with false whatever are the values it doesn't matter till the time it's not set as true the section will not show the same goes for any big list field and it also works for formal but it's not it doesn't go for any other in any other time so to show that I have created some feel naturally word let me see if that shield is added here automatically so suppose I want to source X section 1 as only as a condition I edit a section and you can see conditional print field so this will be print only when its condition so differently it just has these two information group line items and prime li but if if you want to add some other field you can ease we add it you need to go to this object called template section so ready I have again nothing but the APA name of the fields from code object so this is a code object field I just added as the biggest value so in this manner whatever based on your business requirement whatever field makes more sense to you maybe it's not billing State maybe it's language feeling in your code which is making more sense then add that field here and put your thumbs logic based on that along with tested fields you also have option for to distinguish based on test tested creatable and in the same manual if is you can actually define variables here and showing high terms based on X so that is about term condition I have created the District one now what I need to show us I think it's more or less I care what everything here all other things are just minor things you guys can go through the fields and there is an eye for your help so this is the main stuff the other thing is it's already 11 I thought I will complete it in an hour merge fields I will not take more time just 10 to 15 minutes so merge fields are now the important parts the merge fields if you if you create any related object and in this section you see write the content if I open any content I will show you how we can actually add field and for much field actually I have a very s so just for your information the most fields you can use these objects so these objects are taught template object fields you can take then salesforce EPQ old object field you can take then primary contact informations field in the code object you can take the sub this is a link support standard fields if you take here you can see what our fields are actually supported and the same get the same stuff field so if you are defining your content you can take fields from these objects and if that information is like suppose in some other object then create some kind of logically the formula field or trigger or anything like that and bring that information in either of the objects and then you can easily use that as a merge filter while creating the template so if I go back here and I showed you earlier like demo what they offer you something like that I created in the quote I think so this term of good right so suppose this is a field and I'm going to insulate it so it's easy I can't go and I need a check the API name of the field I go to setup and this is the field and suppose I want to add it in my area just don't know known as any other formatting so of course I can I need to use the format how we have to write as like I did it and I cannot first put it like this and so it's from code so code is the initial parent one and under that all of its features then again in the same table the another parent and then all its features together something like that is it possible so basic showing the parent and its child in the in the table and then again another parent and its child in the table it's more more about boundary let's say if we have four bundles product bundle is a group of products right so if we create a group you have very specific use case village I think it's true I think we do it and try and see one simple question in template is there any way to put any conditions like if if this field has this value that show this content also don't show that content in the template yourself is it possible means it's not inside but it's you then of course controller through section so instead of putting everything in a section if you think some of the parts of that section you want to show in some condition and some in some other conditions that create are still different sections and then play with section show and height but within the paragraph for example if you want to specify basically for example some specific content build upon some specific product within the paragraph I what I which bound I was showing and a content if you write some if-else condition which words are put and if we put in a condition over there along with merge field it will work so that is also in a good case to use and try I personally feel it should work because that is how any word merge document works somewhere here if you put an if condition along with the merge fields I think it should work but again I have not tried it so we need to see it keep in mind yeah because I can write everything is merge field so I was reading it long back I have not tried it when I was reading conga and what this ID is it's not a conga feature it is merge that is how much document works on a on a world and as long as those formula there are basic formulas which works on it so if you put it it work I think mean
