there are some people that come into your life for the sole purpose of draining you of every bit of energy that you have to offer uh in fact uh um uh one of the ministers in my family um calls them energy drainers which i think is kind of a cool um a cool statement think of this cup as being you and think that you just i don't know you just had an amazing time with god you coming down off the mountain you filled you got a full cup you got plenty love to give plenty advice and wisdom to give out there to people plenty of needs you can meet and you're just full and imagine all these people in your life you're giving you're meeting those needs you're talking to them you know there are some people their problems become your problems their emergencies become your emergencies when they have a situation they want to call you up first and you kind of feel good about it you feel special that you're the first one to get the call you're not realizing that every single thing that you do is a form of giving away some of you that energy so you're giving and giving and giving in every blue moon every every blue moon you give to someone and they'll give back to you and that's called reciprocation you give to someone they give back to you so you give to a few of these people that are like that and most of these people you're giving to now for those who are watching this video um you can see that i'm pouring um a little bit of um you know it looks like some sort of purple juice or something i'm pouring that into each of these cups if you're listening to the podcast and you're not watching the video and i should have said this at first and i apologize i have a cup in my hand i had a cup in my hand that was filled to the brim uh with some sort of uh let's just say liquid and i have a lot of cups in front of me and these are cups in front of me represent it could be friends co-workers definitely family members let me get that one out uh people you know just needs just just whoever these people are in your life that you feel you're constantly pouring into so now for those who are just listening to the podcast i've poured into all the cups and now my cup is empty here's a point i want to make with this god gave this to me so strong last night it absolutely is okay for us to give and serve and meet needs i believe we're supposed to do that but you really need to be aware of who are some of the people that pour back into your life who are some of the people that you pour into and that pour back into your life because sometimes when you're doing the poor and all you do is poor you notice how you notice how after you have conversations with some people you're just completely drained there's nothing left you're just your dream because you've just spent the last hour troubleshooting their issues talking to them meeting their needs being a good friend being a good whatever you know and and you're just completely drained and you have a few needs of your own but perhaps that same person is not pouring back into you or to be honest with you sometimes they just can't pour back into you they don't they don't have to give themselves so you end up being this little empty cup right here does that make sense what i am trying to get you to see is we have to develop healthy boundaries in our lives and we have to uh have an exercise that we do at least this is what i do have an exercise that you do where you you you decide okay who are like my i hate using the term front line people but who are the people in my life that actually does some pouring into me and i don't know if you can see all these cups but i have all these cups on the table and i'm doing a little bit of rearrangement i even have a little piece of black tape i'm going to use now this tape is going to represent like a boundary line can you see that and i'm going to put this tape right in front of me for those who are only listening to the podcast i'm describing what i'm doing i'm putting a little piece of tape on the table and in front of this tape i have about three cups now these three cups just so you know these three cups represent some of the people that pour back into me so i pour into them they pour into me now i'm getting it i'm getting you see this cup i'm starting to get something in here i pour into them they pour into me these are what i call the people that you know what they're on my front line they're the ones that if i'm hurting and going through something guess what they're going to be calling and checking on me if i need some good spiritual advice on something they're not just going to go running off at the mouth they're actually really going to pray they're going to use wisdom and discernment and do their best to help me with the word of god if i'm wrong about something they're going to lovingly challenge my butt by pouring into me notice i'm doing some pouring and they're going to pour into me and point out hey z here's something i think you need to be changing or doing or why are you doing that why did you speak to that person that way that's a give and that's a poor now you notice on the other side of this tape and again this is for those who are just listening to the podcast and not actually watching on the other side of this tape i have a whole lot of cups sitting out here i'm about to make a serious point with this it's not that i won't ever pour into those cups because i have my father now notice i'm pulling out a huge jug of juice right now this big old huge jug of juice this is just going to represent you know the never ending spring well that you know god gives us as we go to him and we get poured into so when i'm rested up and i've spent some good time with my father and again for those who are listening i have a huge i don't know if this is a gallon is this about a gallon i have a huge one gallon jug i've just lifted up in front of me and i've just poured back into my cup that was just about empty and i've just filled it back up because i just once again came off the mountaintop spending some amazing time with god getting my strength back getting revived um you know dealing with my own sin um spending my time with god and remembering who i am in his presence spending my time with him meditating and and prayer and and getting wisdom and direction and discernment so now i am backfilled so guess what i'm able to do now if you're watching i'm back as a full cup if you're not watching i should say all of these other people who typically are on the receiving end i've got a little bit to give them look at that i'm pouring a little bit into each of their cups because they ain't getting nothing back they're not going to be the ones you know trying to you know uh take care and make sure that i'm feeling good for the day or i'm doing all right or or drop a meal by my house um you know because i'm sick or or what have you but i got something i can give them you see that now i can't do that all the time i can't deal with everybody's issues and all of that stuff all the time because i'll constantly walk around being drained to the point where i can't even pray think about that why don't you have the energy to pray you ever heard of her a whole sermon and you can't remember nothing the minister said or you prayed and for the life of you you don't even know what you prayed for because you're too tired you're too drained so when i'm in those moments i can't i can't i can't continue to let my cup just run completely dry and i think that's where if i can be very transparent i've lived for a long time you guys i don't even know if this message is making sense when god gave this to me last night in this demonstration in my head i thought oh my goodness lord let me please show me how to demonstrate this so that it's going to resonate and make sense to someone when i am fully recharged and i've spent that precious time with god and i have more energy that i can now pour into others you can call it wisdom you can call it love whatever you want to call it i'm just using the word energy to be to have a generic term then i can do that but i definitely want to make sure that these few people on my front row these people that i know i can pour into them and they're gonna pour right on back into me look at that i'm pouring into this sister who always calls to check on me see how i'm doing how my son's doing what's going on blah blah blah this this sister here has always given me some amazing spiritual advice praying for me uplifting me um you know one of my biggest cheerleaders in my corner there's a poor you see that look at that reciprocation look at that for me this is a healthy boundary because i've now identified who are some of those people that pour into me and i pour back into them and that don't mean that you love these other people any less because sometimes these other people oh my goodness can't believe i'm saying this sometimes these other people can be your family members you know uh your own kids and you guys know i'm telling it like it is um uh i'll just say a lot of people that you naturally should just love at all times sometimes those very people are the ones that's on this side don't mean i love them any less at all but it just means that i'm very cautious and aware that every emergency you have is not my emergency every problem you have i i i i can't figure that out for you there are some things called consequences you just got to kind of deal with right every time you mad at somebody you can't um you can't this friend right here you can't call my ear and call my call my phone and take up two hours of my time gossiping and talking about what somebody did i i just don't have time i don't i don't have time and energy for that because that's that that drains me does that make sense does that make sense this person here you know i've given my all to help i really have let me pour a little bit more into that i've given my all to help but you you're not trying to receive any of that you know we just had to talk about a couple things you said you want to change or do are you sick of this happening then you're going right on back to doing it i can't keep doing that every week i can't i can't keep getting with you every week and doing that i love you i really do but but but you're gonna have to be on this side so that when i'm fully charged i'm bringing out my big jug again when i'm fully charged and god has so overflowed my cup and i can hear some of you guys out there now saying well z we can still give to everybody all the time because god keeps our cup overflowing well you and i both know we don't walk around like that all day every day feeling completely on cloud 10 with a completely full cup or at least i don't because i get tired i get wore out and sometimes oh my goodness after all the giving and things that i do and all the service that i do to try to help others and i love i naturally love helping people and i know you guys do too so this is not a message on are you saying don't give don't serve if you type that in the comments i you miss you'd miss the whole point the whole point is that this is for those what i call empty cup people the people that let me just pour this into all of this so i can make a point right now for those who are listening to my podcast i'm pouring the rest of all of my juice out into all of the cups and let me not forget my little front row people right here right so now i'm sitting with an empty cup pointing at the camera for those who are just listening to the podcast this message and i should have started it off like this so i apologize this message is for the empty cup people i probably should have started off seeing that so if you feel like this is never you you know you know that that see i'm never really tired i'm never really you know i'm always out of ten i'm always you know um filled with the holy ghost and and given a hundred percent and never get tired and and and never get you know down or never get that if if that's you and you feel like hey you you never have those days where you just drain then um god to god be the glory um but i'll say that i've had many many times even recently and you guys know some of the things i'm dealing with where my cup is just empty and i'm too tired i have been too tired at times where i really can go to god and sit and rest and get the wisdom and the peace and the love that he's trying to give me i think you guys heard me talk about that in one of my episodes where i said i was apologizing to god because i would go in my closet to sit and pray and talk to him or listen and many times i go to my closet and i just listen and i fall asleep because sometimes i'm just so tired sometimes i'm just so wore out because all i know to do is to just give so there's a scripture i want to read um you know i can't do an episode without quoting something and this is an amazing amazing scripture that i pray um it touches you uh a friend of mine one of the friends on my front row might i add she just poured into me i think it was yesterday we talked i called her i was really feeling some things especially about my my my child who's uh you guys many of you know going through a transplant right now and uh i was just feeling some things and uh she she she directed me to this passage that just so touched my heart and it said matthew chapter 11 and it's in verse 28 and i'm just going to read it verse 28 through 30. this is matthew 11. it says come to me all you who are weary and burdened and i will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn from me for i am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light notice the first part of that come to me all you who are weary and burdened and i will give you rest you guys sometimes i've been so incredibly empty that when i need to go to my father now for those who are only listening i pick this big jug up again which kind of represents i don't know i guess god and you know his like i said his ever flowing spring um but sometimes i'm just so tired and so worrisome um from all the uh you know the constant giving and pouring especially for people over here that all they do is take there's very very very few times where there's a giving back but i'm too tired to go right here look i'm sometimes i'm too tired to go to the source does that make sense sometimes i'm too tired to read my bible sometimes i'm too tired to sit and pray or to sit and listen because i've allowed as i said before there's there's a minister in my family who calls who who who um calls this category people energy drainers and and that minister means that with love but that just really really captures it for me because you know it's not that we don't love them we love them tremendously okay but you have to realize that some people that is their position they they almost want to say they're i really want to go deeper and i wonder can i say this some of you guys are going to know what i'm saying what i'm talking about when i say this it's almost as if they're on an assignment it's almost as if they're on an assignment to always make sure there's some kind of a distraction that they cause in your life some sort of a disruption some sort of an event something that can keep you almost in either a trauma mode or a troubleshooting mode or mode of playing like you are a mini god meaning that you're trying to fix them when you really need to be hands off and let god fix it but i i really believe sometimes people are on an assignment to drain you so that you can't spend that time in prayer and spend that time with god and grow and listen to what the spirit is trying to tell you i did a post a while ago i think it's called and please correct me if i'm wrong i think i called it you are the target or something like that and i did a post on um how there was a situation uh i can't remember all the details but um two people that i'm pretty close to which is going at it all the time left and right and i always found myself in the middle trying to solve it and then i would end up getting upset getting mad i can't even pray i can't think i don't hear nothing the spirit is telling me because these two people that i love are just going at it going at it you know every other day is just something with those two and i'll never forget i think it was my sister that said that to me my sister's an amazing woman of god oh my goodness i learned so much from her but i remember she said z baby when are you going to realize that you you are the target you're the target you're the one the target is not those two you got to realize that spirits work together oh i'm going on a whole another level and and i wonder can you guys handle this i'll just say this everything is spiritual everything is spiritual so while you think that it is your role because you want to be a good christian and you want to meet all these little needs you want to make sure you there you want to make sure you pulling two people apart so they ain't fighting and getting into it and by the way the next day they back friends and and you'd only want all messed up and all discombobulated but anyway if you want to continue doing that you're going to have to realize that sometimes people are signed on an assignment sometimes you know situations are there and that's set up as an assignment to distract you to take away all that energy that you have so that by the time the end of the day wraps up and you trying to settle your mind because the holy spirit is trying to speak to you the holy spirit is trying to tell you something the holy spirit is trying to give you the solution to that problem the holy spirit is trying to direct you the holy spirit is trying to speak to you and tell you man if she would just listen i want her to do this not that she she quieted herself to even listen because she she's empty she's empty she's empty because there's no reciprocation she's just empty and now for those who are listening to the podcast i'm just holding up an empty cup so i don't know if this message is too heavy i don't know if it's even making sense to anybody it's making a lot of sense to me when god put this in my heart last night i literally just cried i was in my bed i had my hands lifted in the air just giving god praise i was listening to i go to bed at night and a lot of i love my gospel music so i was just playing some gospel music and when i had my hands in the air and i was just praising god and just crying out to him and just silently praising him too literally i'm not i kid you not god put this entire demonstration in my spirit he said zee you're pouring out a lot you got to be aware some of those people are on assignments you you gotta you gotta have healthy boundaries so i said to god in tears i said lord thank you for sharing that with me please please light a fire in me and show me how i can properly word this and voice this to um my the community uh that i do the podcast for so i pray that this made some sense again for those who are only listening i have a piece of tape on the table and in front of that tape closer to me i have only about two or three cups and these again represent the people that i pour into them and they pour into me you guys is so necessary now i can see some of you guys saying hey z i don't have anybody that pours into me i you lucky you got two or three and you're right i am i'm blessed that i got two or three but i can tell you came with a lot of time it didn't happen overnight and what i'll say to you is this if you fall into that category there's no one at all you can think of number one god is always there he's your first cup anyway so let me just make that clear i probably should have had another cup sitting here in a different color but he's your first cup you poured to him he pours into you so you remember that you're not alone i just want to make sure you know that second thing i want to tell you is please take some time to evaluate who are the people in your life that you're pouring into and they're not pouring back into you and you want to know a way that you can you can um figure that out because i just recently did it now for some of my friends that may be listening to this they're probably going to be shocked to hear me say this friends family members associates it's not even just friends so i'll just say for some of the people that know me they may be shocked hearing this but in the last week or so uh you know really last couple days that god's really been working on me with this with this message um i've stopped calling people stop texting stop i i've just been in a silent mode of just huh i wonder what happens when i sort of put the brakes on being the one that's doing the pour i wonder what happens and i've been paying careful attention to wow who calls and checks on me who's seeing how my son's doing in the hospital right now who who's encouraging me with hazy great podcast and i'm proud of what you're doing and who's the ones that are just watching the views and saying absolutely nothing looking to see if you know i'm even still doing it who are the ones that poured into me who's the one that that's calling and or that's giving back to me and who are the ones that are calling me only to either get something or to complain about something or what have you and so i've been almost taking inventory not in a negative way i don't i don't even have an attitude i don't have an attitude i'm not mad at anybody i want to make that clear i'm not mad at anybody i am just taking i guess i could say a spiritual inventory if i can say those words i don't know if i can but anyway i'm just taking some sort of an inventory of wow who are the ones that pour back into me as i pour into them and i've come to some conclusions the last couple days okay these from what i see and i've asked god give me wisdom and guidance are the people that i would say are i hate using a term on my front row because that can be taken the wrong way but you guys know what i mean i have the right heart in it but these are the people that you know no matter what um i know that i can pour into them and they'll do the pouring back and there's a reciprocation and we help each other as for all of these other people who when when things are good or when they're in need you know they need something to want something that's when they're calling i love them i really do i really really do but i cannot allow all of my time and energy to be drained into resources and things that continue to drain and drain and drain and there's no reciprocation now when i'm completely filled i'm bringing my big jug back out now you guys where am i i forget which cup i am i think i'm this one when i'm completely filled and praise god that's many times where i feel like god has filled me then guess what i can give to these people because i love them maybe one day they'll take a hint i love them and god continues to overflow my streams and continues to pour oil on me and i'm going to keep pouring that oil okay i'm not going to become a swamp land i want to make that part clear i'm going to keep pouring it but i got to make sure that i'm filled first because when i'm not filled and when my cup's empty that's when i'm over here that's when i'm with these people first of all with god let me just say that first and foremost but that's when i'm with the people that i feel like you know what i know if i call them uh they're gonna help me and that's one last thing i want to say real quick i know i'm going on and on and on none of this stuff's written down it's just all coming off the top of my head here's a really really really good way of of kind of making the the of differentiating who are those people that pour into you and who are the ones that you just do the poor ask yourself this one question maybe two two questions when i walk away from them whether physical or you've had a conversation two questions do i feel more built up than when i approach them ask yourself that do i feel more built up did they uplift my spirit that's that's a very important question to ponder on second question is ask yourself am i drained am i drained am i always drained when i'm kind of done dealing with that person is there something that i feel i can't describe it but something's just taken away from me i feel drained i'm tired feel frustrated i don't know feel something and i believe now again some of my viewers get upset when i say i'm not a minister i'm not of this i'm not of that but i think it's appropriate to say at this time i'm not a minister i'm not a professional counselor i am just a woman who loves god with all her heart and soul and doing my best to share whatever wisdom god gives me with others but in my humble opinion those are the two things that helped me tremendously is i said to myself how do i feel when i'm done talking with them or when i've gotten with them let's say for an evening we hung out which a lot of people aren't doing that right now but anyway how do i feel after i've gotten with someone or after i've had a conversation when the phone rings and i see that person's name in the id what am i feeling am i excited to answer or is there something like oh here we go so anyway i think that that can help determine anyway i love you all i don't even think i mentioned the name of my energy so that you can have time to pray and spend your precious time with god and even if you feel you don't have those people on your front row oh that's one thing i wanted to say not only do you always have god let's just make that really really clear but pray to god to open your heart and your mind up to developing new relationships sometimes you got to let old friendships and old relationships go sometimes there's family members that you just can't hang out with like you used to they may be mad and it's okay that'll mean you don't love them that'll make you think you're better
