hey guys quick intro I don't really much anything else to say other than to say this is a video all about drop downs the UI component that you find in unity so let's get started and of course all of the excitement happens after the feed so I'm going to go ahead and create a drop-down list by clicking UI and then opening up and selecting drop there and that goes as a list here now to bring it into full view just click on the scene and then press F well it's selected and then you'll see that it it drags on there it seems the default to the sort of middle bottom of the screen so let's just drag it up here so we can see what we're working with so when we play this this is the sort of effect of the drop down list is when you can populate this with items in here and when you click on the item then you can do something in say the the the code to participate in some kind of thing so choose you know whether you're a warrior Berserker or whatever connect class so that's the sort of idea for the drop-down list a very compact way of keeping a list and the more items that go in there obviously that's gonna add scroll bars all that kind of stuff automatically for you so the first question is how do you get valleys into there well if you're a designer you are probably just gonna go in here and then start typing in these values inside here which is you know not too onerous you just click on plus and you choose stones option and you can also put a spray in here we're just gonna deal with text and in this example I'll do a 401 1 so that we don't we keep these videos short so I've added an option in there and when I run this I no have Sloane's option down there but what if you are building this from a database so you have a spreadsheet and you read that in at runtime how do you populate these values here so let's let's light these values and just remove them so there is nothing in there so there's nothing inside that list and what we're going to do is we're going to create a script that's gonna take this tip we're gonna insert values into here at runtime so right now there is nothing inside that list and the other thing is I should mention here that we have a non value changed here which is our event so our event handler we're gonna have to take in it takes in one parameter you can see that it says in 32 and 32 is just the the system name of integer so it's an entity takes so we are gonna have to create our own event handler here so I'm gonna...
