hi are you trying to send a fax using Outlook if so this is the video to watch because I'm about to show you how to do it right now [Music] [Applause] [Music] hi i'm matt williams and i want to show you how to send a fax from email we support a few different ways to send faxes from email including smtp clients as well as Lotus Notes and GroupWise in this case I'm going to use outlook on Windows now of course this assumes that your administrator has configured our integration with Microsoft Exchange your first step is to open Microsoft Outlook on your toolbar you should see a little icon with the word fax on it go ahead and click that button who do you want to send a fax to enter their name fax number and option a is their voice number of company and City now you can either press done or press add another to send more than one copy of this fax when you click done you'll see that the address line has been filled in for you because of the way your administrator configure the system when the exchange server sees the letters RFA X it's going to handover your email to write fax now anything you type on the subject line is going to be added to the cover sheet notes anything you type into the body of your email is actually going to show up on the next page of the fax all on its own any attachments that you add will be added as subsequent pages one of the benefits of the outlook client is that you have access to a bunch of extra options on the outlook ribbon click advanced faxing options from here you can enter billing code info add library documents and configure the options for certified delivery when you're done just click on send and your fax is sent if you find yourself sending many faxes to the same people you can add them to your Outlook contacts fill in their name and business fax number and anything else you want to record now select your contacts and click the fax button your fax has been addressed with all of their fax numbers and that's all there is to sending a fax using Microsoft Outlook I'm matt williams and i'm the international trainer with a fax and document distribution group at Open Text I hope you enjoyed this video for more videos about fax server be sure to check out our channel on YouTube new videos are showing up all the time also check out the FAQ solutions blog with regular postings from all of my colleagues in the FAQs and document distribution group if you have any comments or feedback about this video share them with me on Twitter just go to twitter.com slash techno evangelist if you don't use Twitter then leave a comment on the blog I love getting feedback and suggestions...
