today we have a zenith record player console consolet a stereo high fidelity record player that i rescued out of an abandoned 1950s time capsule and if you haven't seen the video of that um i'm going to insert a preview right now like kind of burnt to the ground or something i know oh i want to save it it's like you went back in time to the 1960s oh my god i'm gonna flip if that's a stereo you want to keep that right this is a i need i want this stereophone phonic scene if high fidelity we're saving the stereo sorry before we have a heat stroke well then i gotta put that all right that's in the uh preview yeah it was quite a bit of work to get this thing out and quite a bit of tumbling to get it out and you know it's quite a fun puzzle i don't know which condition let's just get a nice detailed look so it is a stereophonic zenith high fidelity and you can see the cloth is still intact after all the years i think this is called um [Music] danish well it was danish wood not so much anymore every piece of furniture in that house was danish this was probably originally in the house when they bought it yeah it needs some work i mean it smells a hell of a lot better it doesn't smell like mold anymore still has its operating guide for your zenith stereophonic high fidelity phonograph and the model is s s f 2500 james radio corporations this was found in it the goodyear tire and switch um to 78 and 45. it's actually all up venus stereophonic high fidelity crusty very crusty does it have a needle nope needle's been stolen yeah this also wasn't plugged in the wall if it was being used it was unplugged sitting in a in a a semi-actually well-preserved area where there was an old-ass 1950s uh hot point stove yeah somebody oh oh yeah somebody stole the cartridge but it does still move to switch to the uh help here 78 needle so that still works that's good this is a i think it was a cobramatic yeah you can still see the paint marks i'm actually gonna do something special with this i'm gonna paint something on that once i fix it let's see what does this say zenith high fidelity no doubt the original mat oh wow that is not in bad condition that's surprising how is that not freaking dirty the inside is actually good this is what it was originally like it was danish wood but um yeah some moisture and dirt [Applause] the veneers coming off let's look at the back ah let's see yeah it's kind of moldy the cord is here though cords here and it's in good condition surprisingly oh that plugs into the this is still spin yeah still spins nearly 1950s mid-century legs the speakers are still good look at that not even eaten they're just still good here's your tube somatic it is tube since it is from 1961 well that's weird why are those unhooked they're supposed to be like this so you can't pull it out yeah like that somebody must have tried to fix it at one point in time wow original zenith speakers too that looks like a replacement capacitor looks japanese made could be and look let me show you the tubes there's a tube unit see the tubes i guess we could plug it in and see what the it does probably nothing that is a long ass chord all right um we're ready nothing i think i'm not remembering oh there we are i think this gambush got which means it don't work i don't think this is maybe it's not a good idea let's take a look inside yeah the tubes aren't even glowing i think it's that's alrighty good another one now really okay found a fuse a really old one that i salvaged out of the band house and another light bulb let's try this oh and these to put an antique fuse in the thing because it's bad it goes bad this must have blown years ago this fuse is no good yeah this piece blew years ago oh well i mean i will just keep playing with it i it's gonna need some but hey the idlers are actually decent which is a good thing i'm going to fix a stupid toner now i need it something wrong with it is this this thing right here bust it off i don't even know the one too here we go got the record now let's plug it in here we go i might have just fixed the changer oh keep shutting off but i got it to where it can move why is he keep doing that seize them by moving them but i think i need to uh take the whole damn changer par and oil it which is fine by me i just need to take a lot of pictures let's try that again okay uh-huh and yep it falls back and then it's going it's going look at that it must be fixed and this thing does have a fuse in it which is good all right let's see if it uh automatically uh-huh uh-huh and it should not see a record and then it should stop wow can't believe i fixed the changer and all this time i thought i was missing a part let's try again come on smooth again yes [Music] it's working now if i move it it should let's see if it has any output if the amp's even alive oh wow left channel is weak but there is something bring it up to that volume so here a little bit better well today i present to down the date the 25 week of the 11th of 1960 this thing is not 1961 it's 1960. wow there's some kind of number here but that might be the date but this thing cleaned out very well it's it's clean it's showroom clean let's just rip all this we don't need this this is this veneers i think i can uh make do with what's under it though i think it's not that bad just needs to well maybe like no maybe you should this side's much more better though
