hi everybody so today i'm going to do an initial impressions video or as i like to call it a blind by yay or nay video in which i share with you a fragrance that i purchased on a blind buy i'm going to go ahead and open it up and smell it for the very first time and just based on the top notes and the opening of the fragrance let you know whether or not i think it was a good blind buy or not if you've ever tried this fragrance i'd love to hear your thoughts on it so please let us know in the comments section and don't forget to like comment and subscribe so today we're going to be looking at a fragrance by calvin klein and this one is going to be contradiction for men this fragrance here came out in 1999 it is an oriental woody top notes are going to be lemon lime lavender mandarin orange and clary sage mid notes of nutmeg coriander pepper and cardamom then base notes of sandalwood musk ebony wood and vetiver so let's go ahead and get it out of the package give it a smell and see what we think now this one i did purchase on a blind buy from ross for just 19.99 and that is a 100 ml bottle so pretty good price for a good size bottle but let's tear into it and see what we think now this is not one that i've seen at any of the local ross's at all so when i did see just this one bottle i knew i had to snag it because had i waited a day it wouldn't have been there so again we've got contradiction for men it is an edt 3.4 ounce so 100 ml on the bottom we'll have our batch code and our barcode then there's the ingredients and everything on the back and then just calvin klein on the top of the box so i think twenty dollars is a good price for a 100 ml bottle all right and that bottle just looks like a gigantic cap basically that's kind of funny that i did not expect all right so let's take this cap off there because yeah you can see how huge that cap is that's kind of funny all right so that is kind of interesting how that glass is tapered so that the cap goes on there so we've got a pretty shade of blue on the tint of the juice here on the front we've got contradiction for men you can see that this is a nice thick base on the glass we've got our batch code sticker on the bottom so that's actually kind of cool that's kind of neat but it was just kind of weird with having a cap that big but it might actually come in handy like if you were to drop it it might protect the bottle because the base of this is so thick that it would be harder to break that glass so kind of cool actually just kind of was weird pulling it out of the box and just seeing just this little tiny section of glass let's check it out see what contradiction smells like [Music] all right where is the front there we go you know i like the opening of this one so we've got the lemon lime lavender mandarin orange and clary sage [Music] and you definitely get all of those in this that smells really nice a very nice clean smell to it a lot of people do say that this smells like fresh clean laundry and i can definitely see that it also could give you like a shower gel vibe to it [Music] but really nice and clean i don't see that this one would be an issue for anybody i don't think anyone would smell this and not think that it smells nice and clean now if some people don't like the smell of clary sage they may not like it i think that's the only note in the opening that people might kind of be like eh i'm not sure i really like that but i think it smells nice and then the mid will have the nutmeg coriander pepper and cardamom so that'll kind of have some spiciness to it and then the base has sandalwood musk ebony wood and vetiver so i'm interested to see how this one will dry down but just based off of that opening i'm glad that i purchased this one that's gonna smell really nice on my husband [Music] i could definitely see this one being like a signature scent for somebody [Music] because it's going to be a very safe type of smell at least on the opening it is we'll have to test it out see how the mid and the dry down is but very nice very nice and clean and i can see where people are saying that it smells like fresh clean lawn laundry and linens and that sort of thing yeah i do like the i do like the smell of it i like the looks of the bottle i think that bottle is kind of cool [Music] so i like the color of the juice [Music] so yeah for the twenty dollars for a 100 ml bottle i would definitely have to give contradiction for men by calvin klein a yay on the blind buy i'm glad i got this one for my husband i'm sure he'll like the smell of it and i'm sure he'll think that the bottle is kind of cool looking again it does it is kind of weird when you first open it up and all you see is a huge cap but at the same time it's kind of different and makes it kind of cool all right thanks for watching have a great day
