uh hunter williams here sears social media manager um i have a special guest with me for episode three of the uh the seer um video uh chat series uh it's lizzie bratcher and we're gonna be talking about the ladies skills clinic that's coming up here and it's at holly tree off road in alabama and we're really looking forward to this event it's going to get a lot of a lot of females into hard enduro and hopefully getting them more comfortable into that terrain and maybe even racing so hey lizzy how's it going hi thanks a lot for having me yes we're all very excited we can't wait we're working our last preps a lot of things going on trying to make sure we have everything lined up and we're ready for pretty much friday evening we're going to start in the training years on saturday still a few things to finish up but um it looks like we're almost at the finish line with operate work so far that's great and man i was really shocked at the number of girls that signed up you know in such a short amount of time so what what kind of number are we looking at so far it was really interesting in the beginning we were talking about that we were planning on talking about having an event and thinking yeah maybe five six and some were saying now maybe we have ten females who are actually interesting and willing to come to the place well yesterday the 30th serdius rydash also actually signed up so we have really sturdy riders who are committed to come and they will have a pretty good group group to ride with so looks like we have uh not only the ones from around the area we really have people coming from idaho and minnesota so we are pretty proud to have people from eight different states committed to come here and i'm pretty sure it's going to be a really good day yeah that's that's unbelievable i mean you got people traveling from all over the country to come to this that's that's really cool so um let's see what uh type of event fee is there um from what i've seen it looks pretty minuscule for kind of what these girls are going to be um going to be getting and learning so what what is that about yeah that's just one of our thoughts um it's actually pretty much like a seer sponsored event and we have actually um sponsors helping us with the event we wanted to make sure that they sign up and really want to come and it's more like a registration fee but it's only like twenty dollars and for 20 dollars they get like the d-pads for the riding itself and they get a really nice scooty bag with lots of sponsor stuff in there they get a t-shirt and we're providing lunch so i think that's like for 20 dollars a pretty good deal for them so i hope that was also some helping the ones who wouldn't maybe have come if it would have been more expensive oh yeah certainly i mean twenty dollars and you get a t-shirt and goodie bags us guys we pay 65 to race and come out of there with five hundred dollars in damage to our bikes i mean that's pretty much what it is yeah yeah lucky lucky girls lucky girls um so uh sear usually offers hard enduro events and races um why is sarah having a late training day yeah well we had an event like that in the making so like for a while we're thinking about having something like that and background is that sierra is very interested in growing the sport itself and that's for males and females alike and it came to that that one of the seer race directors derek bradshaw was talking to one of our seer serious writer ashley patterson and ask her he actually what do you think i really would like to have women's class at the next race and what do we need to do to get them there and actually meant well racing is one thing but to get them started it probably would help if we put together training day and that's where we are so that's kind of pretty much like the idea that we said let's train first see who is out there and apparently more than we thought and then maybe um we can show them a little bit what's going on at all events and they get a better idea and um maybe less intimidated less next time to sign up for and we actually have a woman's class yeah um that that seems to be something that a lot of a lot of girls seem to you run across and they seem to be a little weary about the hard enduro scene so i'm hoping this clinic is really going to enlighten a lot of them that hey yeah it's tough but you can get out there and run run with some of those guys yeah that's exactly what the idea is a little bit showing them yeah it might be intimidating in the beginning but like in every other sport you have to start little and you start with little obstacles but you work your way up and once you i figured out how the technique works for the smaller objects maybe it's not as hard and as bad on the larger ones and i hard to believe it's can be really fun for them to train together with other females and feeling maybe less um it's exposed to something what they wouldn't feel like as as included and welcomed in a guy's setting that's right yeah yeah that's that's going to help out a lot them girls are always you know kind of in a click together so no matter what they're doing it be dirt bikes or whatever so that'll be really really great for them to be able to all mesh together so that's that's exciting um let's see what um sarah wants to see female more female hard enduro riders so we're all going to get out there and get everybody going um did you did you have anything else you needed to add um it was one of those things what i really wanted to thank actually for all of the cm members to be able that we can put something like that together as you can imagine now especially with that many participants it's not like we need one or two instructors we actually need many of them and we need helpers so usually in the weekends the sea teams goes out there and cuts trails and we still have one race in the making so that means like uh instead of going to cut trails they're all coming to the training day and there are being instructors everyone is going to help out everybody's going to put a lot of effort into it that's here's uh able to offer a nice and fun event and make everybody you know feel like that was really totally great and helpful for them and that's totally awesome thanks to all the team members for doing that that's pretty cool yeah it's gonna be a great time i know a lot of us are really excited about getting instruct and coordinate a lot of it so it's gonna work out really well i can't wait for it holly tree um we can describe that place uh we actually had a race there in early may um unfortunately it was pouring down rain so that was a tough race um hopefully it won't be quite as wet this weekend it is forecasted for a little rain on friday but um hopefully it won't be too bad we're not gonna get up in the crazy crazy slick stuff so um you can expect a lot of rock but uh you know we're gonna have some good drills set up for everybody and it'll be uh it'll be really tame for the females and they're going to learn a lot on how to handle the bike and and hit certain sections so yes i think it's going to be a really good mix of we we said we're going to split the day up in the morning is more about the technique focus and we're going to have a rotation around stations so everybody gets to try different sections and everybody is able to try things what they might not have done before and if anybody gets tired and everybody feels like not i cannot continue for example then they just can go back to the field without field stations and they can work on their balance work on other skills there and in the afternoon we have a little bit more riding time for those who want to go out and write small loops in small groups and so i think there will be something for everybody so even if you have like a wide variety of skill levels what we what we obviously are going to have i'm pretty sure everybody's going to be covered and nobody has to feel like oh i cannot do this sure and and you're a sports nutritionist yourself so what can these girls take from some advice that you may have for them well um i thought it was since my background is in exercise science i always like to look at the bigger picture in case of this one here when we talk about hard enduro um sports nutrition is very important and also the training of the bike so in the lunch break after coming together for lunch we said we set a little bit of a time uh what we can talk about for example what would be a really good fitness training to make you stronger so you can push your bike longer or you can you know you don't get as tired as quickly as you would if if your endurance is not up and then the second part would be that you talk about sport nutrition what could you eat before you go for a training session or what would you eat in a long ride what would you eat maybe doing a race and post fueling and stuff like that i really believe that you are what you eat and so i think it would be helpful if everybody gets a few tips specifically to um longer distance racing pretty much in this case you're usually out there for several hours and it makes a difference if you feel right you might be able to stay out there for a little bit longer certainly yeah that's definitely a big thing for hard enduro is nutrition and endurance so that's going to be a big key for a lot of people even the males so oh yeah everybody could benefit from that one definitely yes definitely um let's see so what let's talk about the tires i have been on social media and i've seen more tires over the last few weeks for these girls than than ever before so let's hear about that tar service okay so we're coming to one of our favorite things to talk about because we um ashley and some of our friends have put a lot of effort into trying to find sponsors helping us out with this event which was totally great we got lots of great feedback that's why we have like a raffle at the end of the day we're raffling off very nice goodies and there will also be like this full goodie bag but also there is that like two entire companies helping us out with tires so that means like what is going to happen if you come on friday evening from six to eight and you bring your bike there there will be some of the seer team members and some other helpers are going to be there and change your time put on one of those nice noble tires you want to feel like trying out like for example one of the participants she comes from florida and she sent us an email saying i really would like to try a different child i think mine will be too hard and it would be really great to try out and see what thai would actually need if i want to do more of that type of stuff so that would be really helpful so it's pretty awesome and we have several tires changing stations so i'm pretty sure we all will be busy changing tires that's a big thing yeah yeah we talked about that the other uh last weekend actually me and gary and derek and i was like who's going to be changing tires and there it's like i'll do it if you'll if you'll just take them off the bike for me i was like i can handle that i can take them off the box as far as it's changing yeah so we will split test like that and everybody will do some of it and then in in team effort we're making happens we'll all be good yeah and speaking of the team effort you know thanks to everybody um at this here you know seer uh team for getting this going i mean it's really really impressive that you're able to give something to these girls like that so yeah yeah well really we're all super happy that it came all together so nicely especially at the end of this very crazy season where you know every race provider had the same issues with with an order situation we have worldwide it's not so easy to keep things running and keeps things up and we were super happy that we could pretty much finish strong with a with one more big training day and like with a really good final event what we have next month coming or up so that's that's only possible if a lot of people put very good effort into it and that we can see that that happened this time again yeah i hate putting people on the spot with sponsors but um do you uh do you have anybody that you want to thank for helping get this going for the girls um well our our tire sponsors were kinder and shankle and obviously are very thankful for those and then bullish is one of our senior responses as well as well as srt and they are helping us with t-shirts and and all kinds of goodies and there are many other ones as well and um we have 100 and we have fly racing and we have clean motor vacations ref designs bpd endure engineering and so i hope i haven't forgotten anybody we have that many um and totally awesome that they all contributed and wanted to make sure that all the ladies feel like that's something but everybody thinks it's pretty cool that they're coming together yeah no that's that's great these girls man they got it made so uh lizzy i really i really appreciate the chat about it it sounds like it's gonna be a great time i'm excited for saturday so i think we're gonna finish out this week and all head to alabama for a great weekend of uh ladies training day and um you know just thanks to
