in today's show we're gonna learn a bunch of power apps of little things so we're going to talk about notify we're gonna talk about self we're gonna talk about launch we're gonna talk about exit and my personal favorite we're gonna finally show you an easy way to make drop-down boxes have a blank value with no extra work oh my goodness so exciting so a bunch of little things here today though just one can I get these in your toolbox so you can build better apps but first here's our intro hi my name is Shane young with power apps nine-one-one those guys in today's show it's a bunch of little things alright and these are the little skills that you want to develop or sometimes I refer to my classes as planting seeds I just want to teach you a bunch of little nuggets because I think adding these into your powerup skill set it's just gonna make you a better app builder like for example we're gonna cover how to have dropdowns be blank there's now a default setting for that and literally the moment I found that I added it to a production app that was how cool and important that was to me so that's we're gonna do it we're gonna cover that one we're gonna cover how to launch into new targets or the self which is pretty cool right so walking in the same window we're gonna talk about how exit works we're gonna talk about notify can now have timers on how long it shows up which will be very helpful one of the reasons I never used notify before and then we're going to talk about this concept of self which is a new thing it's not fully evolved yet but it kind of shows you where power ops is heading and is going to help you guys build smarter more reasonable controls and such so I'm pretty excited for all this I must have switched over to my desktop take a look at the demo app I built talk about some of the things and then show you how to do them so over here my demo app you can see that right now I have a drop down and look is it blank yeah the drop down selected value is nothing and if we hit a drop down like I wanted to then it's no longer blank if I reset it it goes back to blank so you know in the past to do this you had to bolt in a collection right you had to go in there and say alright I want to take and do a collection put blank records in there and then put what I wanted and that was how you did that that is no longer the case so how does this work now super simple is the answer so Microsoft quietly in one night slipped in here there is now...
