hey guys hey go my name is DOM and today I want to talk about the object dot assign method in JavaScript so essentially this method will allow you to combine or merge two JavaScript objects together okay so it's actually quite useful so to demonstrate this I'm going to create two extended JavaScript objects so let's define a two constants here so we'll call that first constant or call this one course which is equal to and objects okay this object will have a single property that being named okay so we have a course and then the name of that course the value for name can be something like web program okay so you know a student has gone to uni and he's studying the course of web programming okay now this student got a score of 92 in web programming so let's make a new constant and call this one a grades which is equal to once again a new object this object will contain once again a single property that being a school okay the score will be 92 so here we have two separate objects you know signifying a university course of web programming with a score or grade of 92% okay so we're gonna use the the assign method to actually combine these two objects alright so down here let's make a new constant let's call this one final results okay which will actually be equal to object assign so we'll say object dot assign okay so it's equal to the return value of this assign method now this one will take in two arguments it's gonna be course and great let's parse in course right here and then grade as the second argument okay let's now console.log the final results but so now final result who have it'll be a new object a brand new object with the name and score properties and in the respective values okay so let's now run this Vista scripts press enter here and we get an object named web programming and a score of 92 so we can see how that method there has actually combined or merged these two courses sorry these two objects together oh you can actually pass in multiple objects or more than two objects to the assign method so I can put a comma right here and pass in a third argument let's put a new object inside here and say that the teacher of this course the name was something like I don't know missus missus water okay and save this and run this script once again press enter and we get teacher is added to the final result object okay so a sign is used to combine or merge objects together alright so what happens if you have a property in one object and then the same property in a different object so for example what if I have score as a property of course and also great an object can't have two properties so the final result is gonna actually pick one of these scores to be the final score I'll put this school here to be something like 75 and then save this and run this script once again we get 92 in the console okay so the way it works is that the the argument that was passed in the last time so the second argument it's gonna take control over the first argument so whatever is passed in last that'll be the actual value so if I make this one twelve okay and run this script once again we get twelve so the last object will be the actual score score value if there happens to be multiple properties so multiple objects with the same property name all right so that's that now what this means is that you can actually create a duplicate or a clone of an object using this assign method so let's make a new constant down here and call this one copy which is equal to object dot assign we're gonna pass in an empty object inside here okay and then pass in final result as the second argument as I've asked to say to this actually let's put a copy inside the console dot log okay if I was to save this and now run this script we get a clone of the final result object so this is a proper clone of the object all right so this assign method comes in handy especially you know with regards to how it actually will override a property name so we're gonna see how you can actually use this method inside your applications so let's just get rid of all this stuff right here and define a new function okay this function is going to be call with something like print print name okay guess we'll take in an object being options so to take in an options object all right this function is simply going to console dot log and we just say put a slug at the first name so say options dot first name and then we can say options dot last name so we expect that this this options objects who have a first name and last name property we're going to just log it out okay so if also just say prints name here and passing objects can pass in a on at first name will say dumb and last name can be decode no I can save this and run this script and we get Dom decode okay so this right here is an object being passed into this function so what if we only give the first name let's save and run this script we get done undefined so in this case here we actually want defaults for this function so what I have these properties always you know always there for us by having a default property if it's not passed into the function okay so inside this function let's make a new constant and call this one default this will be equal to an object and the default name so we'll say first name is equal to something like let's just say Steve and the last name can be bottom so those are the default values for this function so now we can just say options equals and then defaults so now we're gonna get the defaults there but in this case here we're gonna get Steven bottle so how do I actually get this first name to be you know passed into this default object or to this options property so that we can actually obviously you know print it out so we can do this using objects dot assign okay insert a default Co we're gonna have this we're gonna say object dot assign and then pass defaults as the first argument and then they're gonna put options inside here so now so now if there's a value or property inside options it's going to override the same value inside the same property inside the defaults object all right so if we just run this script one last time we get Dom bottle so that right there is a way you can use object or assign to setup defaults inside your functions or even your own class constructors alright and that is how you can use the object assign method in JavaScript thank you for watching and I'll see

What is the difference between a digital signature and an electronic signature?

An electronic signature is defined as “information in electronic form (a sign, symbol, or process), which is logically associated with other electronic information and which a person uses to sign documents”. A digital signature is a form of electronic signature that involves a person having a unique digital certificate authorized by certification authorities which they use to approve documents. Both methods of signing agreements are valid and legally binding. airSlate SignNow provides users with court-admissible eSignatures, which they can apply to their forms and contracts by typing their name, drawing their handwritten signature, or uploading an image.
