[Music] all right well welcome to today's webinar we're going to be talking about um contracts today specifically contracts with client-filled blanks so first we're just going to go over a few kind of industry-wide things like the benefits of using contracts best practices and then we'll get into specifics with shoot proof contracts so first we're going to create contract templates and i'll show you how to use fillable fields blanks and variables in your template and then after we create the template we're also going to create an actual contract from the template and then we're going to send it to your clients and see what the client experience is like at the end i'll show you where you can find some free contract templates that are going to be useful for you especially right now with covid some force major and rescheduling addendums so first let's go over the benefits okay so benefits of using contracts setting clear expectations so empower yourself and your clients by establishing clear expectations and deliverables everyone needs to know what's going to happen it's setting expectations on both ends not just for your client but also you because you need to know what you are going to be held accountable for it's also great for increasing your brand value i mean you know it makes you look professional and that's kind of the side effect of it is your clients like oh okay so this is a professional business owner who is using a contract and i'm going to be held accountable as well as the business owner so um you know it it actually increases trust um you know i used to think of contracts as being something that's kind of like a barrier between a client and not necessarily only photographers but anyone who's using contracts but as i've learned it's actually something that creates trust between the two parties because everyone knows what they're going to be held accountable for it's also going to protect all of the parties um establishing strong client relationships so as i mentioned earlier you know there's that trust factor there and it actually makes your relationship stronger um and of course there's the added benefit of unlimited contracts are included in your shoot proof plan as long as you're on a paid plan so you can create as many contracts as you want we want you to create contracts because you should be creating a contract for every single shoot and that brings us to best practices use a contract for every session an event that you photograph it needs to be in place prior to a session um and when i say every session i mean every session um you know i even for example photographed for free for my kids little school um a fall festival last year and i was doing it for free and i was providing them all of the images to use for yearbook and stuff...
