hi i'm rachel from the 38° stuff team on Saturday the 22nd of August 38° members across the country will be heading out onto the streets for a big day of action to stop TTIP the dodgy trade deal this video will give you some tips and advice on how you can make sure the day goes smoothly the first thing you want to do when you go out and meet up with other 38° members is take 10 minutes to have a chat with each other about how you'll organize yourselves you can use this time to plan who will be doing what they'll probably be 38° members there who have already done another day of action so they'll have some top tips and be able to show you the ropes you should have received a pack in the post with petition sheets leaflets a badge a poster and a sheet with some helpful information but don't worry if you haven't got a pack between you there will be enough to go around find a space that's busy but not too crowded you want a place where people will be walking past but not in a desperate rush it's up to you to decide how you organize yourselves but if there's a big group it's probably best to split into pairs and stand in different places that way you'll be able to chat to more passers-by when you ask people to sign the petition it's often actually easier to write their name and details down yourself so you can make sure it's filled out in a way that's easier to read after the day you'll need to post all the signatures back to the 38° office so they can be typed up the easier they are to read the quicker the job will get done every MP and MEP will get a copy of the petition to stop TTIP they'll see just how many people have signed the petition in total but also particularly how many people in their local area that's why it's really important to get people's postcodes it will have a huge impact on decision makers to see hundreds and thousands of their local voters saying no to TTIP there are a few things to bring with you on the day as well as the pack of materials you'll have received in the post obviously you'll need some pens and a clipboard too if you've got one otherwise a strong piece of cardboard will do just fine don't forget to bring a smile as well smiling at people as they're walking towards you is the best way to break the ice TTIP would be a terrible deal for our country it would let more be killing pesticides on our fields it'd fill our food with dangerous chemicals and it could give big businesses the right to sue the government if they don't like our laws if enough of us get out on the streets we could...
