hello everyone this is Anson from Anson Alex calm and in this video I'm going to show you how you can fix the problem of being able to receive emails on your iOS device but not being able to send them this is an issue that actually first arose back in 2013 I provided a solution the solution still works the issue still exists but things have been updated a little bit so this is an updated video to show you how to fix it with the new iOS interface what we need to do is we need to access our settings on our iPhone and then scroll down to the mail section and go ahead and tap on mail from within the mail section we're going to tap on accounts now we need to tap on the account that we're having issues with so you might have a number of different accounts here they might look a little bit differently than mine I'm going to use Gmail for this particular example but tap on whichever account is being affected that you're unable to send emails from so I'm going to tap on Gmail now I'm going to tap on the account again here in the first section so I'm just going to tap where it says my email address so now what we need to do is we need to change our password in our outgoing mail server settings for whatever reason what's happening with this issue is that your password is saved correctly for your incoming mail but it's not saved correctly for outgoing once we fix that you should be able to send emails again so from this screen we're going to tap where it says SMTP in the outgoing mail server section from here you're going to see a list of servers and you can see on my phone I only have one server listed but you might have multiple so what you want to do is you want to tap on the one that's underneath the primary server section it should say on just to the right of it so I'm going to tap on the Gmail SMTP server here in my list now if you're experiencing this problem it's most likely with an email address such as Outlook or Yahoo something like that where you can actually edit the username and password fields with Gmail accounts you can't edit those fields but again on the account that you're experiencing issues with you should be able to edit these fields so what you need to do is you need to retype your password in the password field even if there's already a password there make sure you completely retype it and also make sure in the user name field your entire email address is listed there once you've reinterred your password even if there's one listed tap on the done button in the top right corner after doing that go ahead and test your email you should now be able to send emails like I said this issue has been going on for years my original video that I uploaded to resolve this issue has over two hundred thousand views in the traffic that I've been getting on that video hasn't gone down at all so that means this issue is still occurring but I've gotten really good feedback on that video that my solution that I provided was fixing it for people I used to work with people in personal lot resolving this issue and this is the solution that worked 90% of the time if this doesn't work then you might want to check to make sure you you are 100% certain that you're entering the right password I know that's what everybody's told you but again not just your password in general for the account your password here in the outgoing SMTP server settings I hope you found this video helpful if you did I would really appreciate a thumbs up here on YouTube and if you want to see more technology tips and tutorials don't forget to subscribe to my youtube channel that's all I have for you for today this is Anson from ants and Alex calm
