hi everyone welcome back to my channel the best place to get adoption advice and advocacy for children in need in this video i am going to share with you where to start when considering adoption now this video is inspired by a question that one of my subscribers asked me a while back his name is kevin and this was his question he said if you had met a client one or three years before they came to you about the adoption process what would you want them to know and do so that's what i'll be answering in this video if you're sure that adoption is the route that you want to take then this video right here is going to be really helpful where i talk about adapting a baby and how to get started and this video is also going to be really helpful to kind of decide if you're not sure if you're adapting domestic or internationally which is the best way to go okay so make sure you check out either one of those um for further steps for your adoption all right so to answer kevin's question okay what is basically step zero for someone who's considering adoption i wanna answer this question in basically two different answers my first answer is gonna talk about really one group of folks and my second answer is gonna deal with another group of folks okay my first group of folks that i deal with in a consistent basis are those folks who really are looking at adoption as their very last resort okay what i mean by that is they're considering adoption as an option to grow their family but they're also looking at other options such as surrogacy infertility treatments maybe in vitro they're really looking at all of their options as far as growing their family is concerned and for those group of folks usually when all the other options have failed right in vitro has failed other fertility treatments have failed they're not sure about surrogacy they think it's kind of iffy sometimes that's when they finally resort to okay let's do adoption because nothing else is working for us to try to have a child biologically okay now for that group of folks okay my step zero advice to you is to really start getting healing for the trauma of infertility because that's exactly what it is infertility is trauma now i'm not a therapist right i don't counsel people on this but lots of therapists actually do this kind of work specifically and what they do is that they help people get healed from the trauma of infertility so it really is a thing now if you think about it i'm sure maybe this is the first time you've heard something like that if you're in this group of folks that's been suffering from infertility but you understand the emotional um rollercoaster and just the pain that comes with infertility...
