so you found the perfect spot to fly your dji drone you go to fire it up and you get the dreaded authorization zone warning and you can't get off the ground well i've got the solution to your problem right here and it's the dji fly safe website let's get to it okay so you're going to want to go to a laptop or desktop computer you won't be able to do this from a smartphone you're going to go to dji.com flysafe before you do anything you're going to have to go and set up an account if you haven't already set up a dji account i've already done that so i'm not going to show you guys how to do that which will scroll down on this page that you come to on the front page here and you're going to click unlock a zone after you do that we're going to come over to self unlocking so you're going to come down and you're going to see there's a map here and you get to select which model you're using for dji you can see they've got pretty much i guess every single type of drone that dji cells listed here i'm using the mavic mini now i'm going to come over here to search so i'm going to put in my location macalester oklahoma and it's going to take us to the map so up here you have restricted zones you'll see those in red those are areas that um we really can't get permission to fly in it's usually like a military base or a prison something of that effect we have one of each of those nearby you can see this is our military outlet here where um i am not allowed to fly without some real special permission up here we also have warning zones and enhanced warning zones the enhanced is in an orange and the warning zones are in yellow you can check that on so you can see all the different uh types of areas that you could be getting into i'm going to turn off the warning zone so it's a little bit easier to see authorization zone that's our problem here in the in the blue you see um our local airport that's the uh the no-fly zone that's the runway runs north and south here and um that's our problem i'm here in this blue dot where i want to fly and it's inside the blue authorization zone okay so once i click that indicator it auto populates down here to the select a zone to unlock box it's going to ask for your flight controller serial number uh now where do you find your flight controller serial number there's a couple of ways but what we're going to do is we're going to jump over to the dji fly app we're going to hit go fly hit the three dots in the top right corner...
