good evening can you see me over this I'm tiny so my name is Sean and I run a site called letters of notes which is as you can see a website about correspondence that I believed to be deserving of a wider audience a little backstory about how I started it back in 2009 I was working as a copywriter and I was meant to be writing an article for a client a stationery company and I decided to write one about letters interesting letters I quickly realized that there was more than enough on the internet already for me to start a website and make some money out of it so I said sod off summer to my client and wrote them something really horrendous about photocopiers really boring really boring and styled letters have no instead so the premise is very simple the websites just full of letters telegrams memos and faxes nothing digital I just wanted to kind of celebrate old school correspondence anything that's physical that you can pick up anything you can get some kind of tactile feedback from so emails are out of the question tweets Facebook messages purely physical correspondence as I said began in September 2009 suggests over two years and there's letters from all sorts of people from all different walks of life from all different eras there's some soldiers slaves movie stars musicians authors fans of movie stars musicians authors not slaves so much soldiers as a few fans of soldiers there's all sorts of letters from all all manner of situations that's of advice letters of complaint letters of love letters that will make you cry laugh scream become delirious there's letters on there that will make you do all of the above within the space of a couple of minutes it's incredible the power of the written word and it's doing really well I've been running if just over two years as I said the minute we're getting between two and three million hits per month which for a website about letters I think is pretty incredible in this day and age and that's my full-time job I'm writing a book about letters of note that should be out in November all being well but it's a absolute pain in the ass and getting all the permissions for the book because I need to get permission from the person that wrote the letter the person that owns the letter to include the picture in the book so I need her n decide I won't bore you with it but on the brink of tears so that's what I'm doing at the minute why are people why do people love it so much I think it's just me a harks back to the white seems like a more innocent time just just looking at the stationery of these letters there's some beautiful letter heads you don't quite kind of these days we get excited when you choose a...
