hundred products you'll be surprised how much money you can say hello guys and welcome back to my channel my name is Cheryl and I share my financial journey on why if he new to my channel last month I lost my job suddenly with no notice and no income it meant that we had to stretch our money and make sure that we always had food to eat and he was a few tips and tricks I learned along the way which helps him a fortune today I wanted to share with you some cursory tips that could help save you a lot of money and make your grocery stretch further if you've got any questions feel free to comment below and don't forget to Like and subscribe just to give you a bit of context we are a family of three I live with my husband my seven-year-old son and I'm also expecting my second child so these tips will help you if it's juicy self or if you've got a big family as well tip number one is to swap juices and pots for squash early this year at the beginning of my pregnancy I was craving so much I were introduced and it was something I started to slip back into my budget and I would say roughly about ten pounds a month for spent on juice whereas now we spend monthly a pound a week on squash and it will last for the whole week and also we bought that water starting the future it's nice and cold and then we just drink water throughout the day as well tip number two is to swap your saucers for actual homemade sauces I would spend about two pounds a week on different sources and I'd always try and get them on offer roughly a pound but unfortunately we just simply can't afford that right now it doesn't mean that we have to go about them I found making homemade sauce is still just as nice as you can see here we have got some chopped tomatoes and these chopped tomatoes are like a staple in our diet they help us make a range of different meals from chilli con carne to spaghetti bolognese it works wonders tip number three is to measure your ingredients out a few years ago I noticed we was always throwing it right away and pasta that was left over because we were just pouring it out straight into the pan but actually my turning out means that one we know exactly how much to buy when we're going shopping and to nothing is going to waste so for example when I cook it maybe a chicken stir-fry we will use maybe 500 grams of ice and I know that every single clean it's gonna get eaten and it's not going to anyways tip number four is to swap your branded products for supermarket brands or maybe just shopping it out a little now one of the changes we made talking to get all these products but then also are their baked beans so if you swap several of your branded products you'll be surprised how much money you can save so these swaps alone can have a huge impact over the cost efficient and especially on a monthly basis and finally the last tip is to reduce the amount of cheese at your brain initially I wanted to just strip all the treats out whether it was chocolate face anything that was a treat strip it out however I realized the need teacher there's always a balance instead of depriving ourselves and say no we cannot have any cheese what I've actually done is we do see more cheese at with bar so for example usually we buy two huge bags of crisps from all day well now we only buy one and then you know if it means that we don't have packs of Christmas days then that's absolutely fine another example is I will buy my partner like packs of chocolate and that's bright barely two packs of chocolate a week well now we actually have swapped that for biscuits which have much more cheaper so that's five tips that I wanted to share with you and how you can save money in your groceries bills how you can make your groceries stretch longer and also ensure you can eat healthfully and enjoy your meals despite being on a lower budget if you found this video it was useful for you don't forget to Like and subscribe and I'll speak to you soon [Music]
