Initials mcw

when drawing a title block we first want to establish what size of the paper we're going to be drawing to i'm going to be drawing an a1 size title block so first i'm going to draw the border so that's a rectangle i'm going to draw it as 831 by 584 millimeters that's 10 millimeters less length and width than the a1 size piece of paper for the title block itself i'm going to draw it as 200 by 90 and then i'm going to move this into the corner and then i'm going to draw a polyline 200 mil across and i'll move it down 30 mil and i'm going to offset that by 30 mil now i have three even segments and i'm going to offset this bottom one by 15 to divide that into two this top section i'm going to leave for now i'm going to move on to this section so you want to draw a polyline down 30 mil and then move that across 17.5 then we're going to offset that by 90 mil and then offset that by 50 and that should leave us with 42.5 mil yep now i want to draw another polyline on this bottom bit another 30 mil we're going to move that one out 42.5 we're going to offset it by 12.5 offset that by 42.5 offset that by 40 and the last offset will be 20 or you can just extend this line which i will do and then i'm going to extend it up as well because that is where we're going to put our logo last line we'll do a polyline from the midpoint of this line across like so and that is our grid section essentially done for the title block before we add our text we need a separate dimension style now it's very vital to do this and you can follow the one i'm doing maybe you want to make your own one that's fine but i'm gonna do mine so i'm gonna set a new one call it a academy one dims and like i say it's very vital that you set this up this is because the text type is set to standard textile is standard now the standard text type in this drawing is arial but you might copy this start block to another drawing and the text standard might be completely different textile that's going to completely mess up your title because it will take the form of that drawing and the text style might be all off and yeah yeah so you want to set this up so i'm going to go in here set new and create an aerial text type ariel yeah that's all good set current close select it in the drop down and just finish off here okay and then we're going to click it and set current now we can start adding in our text first text i'm going to do is title and i'm going to open up the properties menu mine's already open on this left hand side select tile go over to the left hand side justify top left text height 3.5 and i'm going to use the grip and move it there and then down here at the polar tracking we want to make sure that's set to 23 and 45 so we're going to move it in a 45 degree angle by 2.5 mil i'm going to copy this text from that point to all the points where we need text it's just a standard text once that's all put in now we need to actually put the text that we actually want so we have the drawing number we're going to have the rev or revision drawn by we're going to be using the initials and we're going to have the drawn and date the scale and then we're gonna have amended by amended date and then here we will have size so that's going to be the paper size i'm going to add my logo so you want to open up the external references tab so external references enter and then that's going to bring up this tab here i'll use the drop down arrow attach image and i'm going to select my logo with a white background okay i'm going to select this point move it as big as i can get it while staying within the boundary that will do for now move and select the midpoint i'm going to shift right click mid between two points select that point and that point and that fits nicely a little bit now i'm going to start adding in the attributed text so that's at def and with first one we're going to do is just going to be the project one no prompt um my prompt would be the same and then i'm just going to put x xx as the default justification we're going to go from middle center and we're going to go for a text height of five okay i'm just going to put that in select the middle grip again shift right click mid between two points going to select the two points there and we're going to copy that text up 7.5 and then down 7.5 copy all three of those from the middle one the midpoint shift right click made between two points i'm going to put in between there and we're just going to select one copy again and we're going to make between two points here here again shift right click and again you could just copy from a point i'm just going to do mid between two points for all of them and we're just filling in the text for all the areas that we need it i'm just doing a shift right click that brings up the menu i'm going to mid between two points we need to alter this text so we're going to have project two project free i'm gonna change this to title one title two title three and then this will be drawn no we're just gonna keep it simple rev drawn by and just keeping it simple drawing date so what this text is that we're putting in is going to be essentially what you know you need to put in there so amend date that's a man by sorry so yeah this is what it's going to remind you what the text is for so here we go amend date and then we've got the size now what i want to do also is change the default here to ax so that's going to remind me it's got to be a something scale again that'll be 1 in x x x um the drawn by we want to change yeah keep that at x x but then the draw by day so that'd be x x slash x x slash x x and again here xx slash xx xx and now we know the kind of the structure that we want to have in each of these text boxes so we're going to press escape now now here you need to select the text in the order that you want it to appear in the text menu so let's select project one two three title one two three draw number rev drawn by drawn day and mend a mandate scale and then size now we need to select the rest of the title block and it doesn't matter what order you select the rest of the title block in just make sure that you get everything so we're going to get the logo and get all the lines all the text again all the lines all the text just make sure you get everything clicked you don't want to miss anything so that's all selected there now we're gonna create a block so that's b block we're going to call it a a title block we're going to pick our point go for there press ok now as you can see on this left-hand side it's in the order that we clicked it and it's got all our x's in there press ok so that's your title block done now we can copy this to any of our drawings that we want first we want to make sure we go to here and we change peptide and we make the logo to make absolute now we can copy to any drawing the logo image will appear in all the drawings so if we start up a new drawing we go to the paper space i'll just set this up so we've got ddod to pdf as a full bleed a1 extents sent to the plot landscape applied to layout so say we did a really nice drawing here we need to get our tile block in we can select it all control c we can copy it into any drawing now and bring it in and it's all there we've got our logo there center the plot again and then it's there and then you can just put in the information that you need for that said drawing so if i just make something up uh castle lodge 33 wade park i'm just going to spell it weird london i doubt this is an actual address and then title will be lodge 12 mains cold water which is called mcw proposed layout and then so we're just going through and you can enter your text so we do cl dash 12 or cl 04-12 and once you enter your attention just press enter and it goes to the next one that we put in that order the review is today 59 amended by me again and we do say i am end it tomorrow i shouldn't do that but it's all make believe in scale so we know that the scale needs to be one in something so we do it one in 100 and the size will be a1 and there we go there is your title block all set and done if we uh control p we can preview it so yeah it's a real nice clean tile block very professional got a bit of a board around the image i like that i like having the image frame on and there you go that's how you make a nice style block clean professional very simple thanks for watching
