foreign [Applause] thank you again Andrea for providing us with that really terrific overview of the WTO and reminding us of what's happening in Geneva every day to help keep trade going so thank you again for that I want to invite anyone who might still be looking for a seat who's just joined us to please feel free to make your way over here there are still plenty of seats if you're looking for one um I'd like to also next invite our panelists to come up and join me on the stage here for our first panel session this includes perspectives from the United States Canada and Mexico on the state of North American trade and the state of integration here in the region David Ganz is our first panelist I'll introduce is joining us via Zoom today he is the Will Clayton fellow for trade and international economics at the baker Institute at Rice University he's also a professor of law Emeritus at the University of Arizona David has literally written the book on the U.S Mexico Canada agreement his latest book is titled an introduction to the U.S United States Mexico Canada agreement understanding the new NAFTA Eric Miller come on come on up Eric is president of Brado Potomac strategy group in Washington DC a consultancy that advises public and private sector clients on a range of trade regulatory business technology and geopolitical matters he's also held government positions in Canada as well as at the inter-american development bank and the Business Council of Canada Kenneth Smith Ramos is a partner at aegon a Mexican consulting firm that specializes in competition Regulatory Affairs and international trade prior to joining aegon Ken served as Mexico's Chief negotiator for the U.S Mexico Canada agreement and finally our moderator Ken Levinson Ken is CEO of the Washington International Trade Association and foundation and Ken is also a member of The yider Institute advisory Council thank you all Ken I'll let you take it from here uh good morning thanks for having us here today thank you Jill and JC on putting together today's great program congratulations on the great progress you've made with the Institute especially over the past two and a half years when we haven't been able to meet generally in person I know you've been having more meetings here in Lincoln but for those of us around the country who haven't been able to travel as much really great to be back JC good luck in your next gig you are amazing and I don't know if everyone people know that JC's going to be leaving but uh you are awesome and we we really are grateful for everything you do uh thanks as well to the support of Christina bakyiter who's The Guiding Light for a lot of the work that the advisory Council does and the work of The Institute so thanks to all them as well an honor to follow my dear...
