accepting credit card payments over the internet seems daunting and difficult but in this video i'm going to show you how you can easily integrate stripe into any application very similar to what you're seeing right now [Music] welcome back to web dev simplified my name is kyle and my job is to simplify the web for you so you can start building your dream project sooner so if that sounds interesting make sure you subscribe to the channel for more videos just like this now in this video i'm going to be covering everything you need to know about setting up stripe in your application so you can start accepting payments i'm going to show you multiple different ways to do it so you can pick the way that's best for you and like i showed you in the beginning of this video this is the demo that i kind of used to show off this stripe example this is actually from my javascript simplified course if you're interested in i'll link it down below but essentially all we do is we just add some items to our cart as you can see we can have different quantities of items and when we're ready we just click this checkout button and this checkout button essentially behind the scenes is contacting a server that we control telling stripe all the things we want to buy and then it's redirecting us to the stripe checkout so when we click checkout you can see it redirects us to this page which has all the things that we want to buy and then we can enter our information click pay and it's going to bring us back to the page or we can click back here cancel to go back to the shopping cart where we can change different things so this is what i'm going to be implementing in this video but instead of using this example which is a little bit complex we're actually going to be stripping things back to just a single checkout button because that's really all you care about when you're implementing payments is you have a checkout button that you want to make a request with so here we just have a simple checkout button on a page and in our script.js if we click this you can see it logs check out to the screen so in order to set up stripe the very first thing we need to do is create a server because you need a server to process all the payment stuff since that needs to be secure it can't happen on the client so if you don't already have an express server you're going to need to follow this step by step first thing you're going to want to do is just create a folder called server that's going to be the easiest way to do this so we'll just create a folder called server and then we're just going to...
