okay hello thank you so much for joining us today's topic is how to maximize sales using marketing tools and go CCL navigator my name is Glen Mandela and I am director of business development for the carnival independent agent team I'm going to share with you just everything that's available as far as marketing live in go CCL it makes it so much easier so that you feel less stressed you know when actually tackling it yourself so I do want to point out right here 100 parties 100 cities this is lada while use a travel advisor that we're promoting all year we continued this from last year so definitely check that out okay so we're going to focus mainly on two top tabs I'm going to show you something in bookings and then I'm going to focus the demonstration under the marketing tools one area if you look in bookings and you go down and you choose rates and promotions you will see here there's a number of different types of races these are rates that are available all of the time here are promotions that you're able to promote and you see all of the promotion's right here and you are able if you choose one for example select more details and this will open up the early Sabre page so you can print this page if you'd like it gives you the title early Sabre early Sabre rates and deposits from $49 through April 2022 here's the booking window sailings through April 2022 and starting rates and these the early saver can be booked in groups and individual that's what MIT means is an individual amenities are included for groups the rate code is P eg and this can take you right into booking either an individual booking or birthing for your group and here are the terms and conditions the early saver does have a lot of terms and conditions but it's that information is all right there and then finally there are banners that you can choose for example example here's an Instagram banner that you can post on Instagram and mark it that way there is also a Facebook in if you choose to promote through Facebook and we recommend if you are marketing and advertising don't do it real frequently post a lot of your own pictures have clients post pictures but these are available to you for you to utilize and there's other types of banners available as well and we'll go up to the very top and again that was found right under bookings right here alright so then let's go over to marketing tools here is a lot of information Flyers and such we've got marketing collateral library and we've got external marketing links and even before I take you there let me just take you to the home page of go see CEO one more time I just want to scroll down ok here is the large screen you know promoting whatever's going on continue to scroll down and just where we saw under bookings here are the promotions again and if you you can click on just as we did more details this arrow means that there's more and if you view all promotions it will take you right back to this booking window where we were just a moment ago alright so with that I'm going to go ahead now and take us to marketing tools and kind of just do a little exploring through here ok so here's a marketing collateral library under that is all of these Flyers so I'll share with you what that looks like so under the marketing tools and marketing collateral library we've got destination general on board so here's destination here's general here's on board program Flyers trade ads brochures and web banners so that's all contained right in the marketing collateral or library or if you just want to go straight to the destination flyers or any of the other so that's what I'm going to do now is just take a straight to Destin and flyers and the same thing would have happened if you would have clicked on here and chose destination flyers when it showed right there this same information would come up now these carnival really focuses on Alaska Bahamas Caribbean and Mexico so I'll just open one of these flyers for you and it appears at the bottom here and very basically it's promoting Alaska carnival sails Alaska Tuesday - Tuesday B we've got a variety of other things going on we're also now sailing from San Francisco up to Alaska so you can type in more information here you can put your agency information your logo so it's just a nice marketing piece and again we have something look for Alaska the Bahamas Caribbean and Mexico and that again is as you see up here destination flyers it's under marketing tools destination flyers the next we'll go ahead and choose general flyers and I won't again click on all of them but just to give you a general idea carnival carries more military personnel than any other cruise line and this is a great piece if you are say for example you're promoting to an organization that has a lot of people that have served this talks about thank you for your service did you know that we carry more than any other cruise line military people and that we have military tributes on board if you have never participated in this it's in the main show lounge and it is just a wonderful feeling to be there we also introduced the heroes tribute bar on the Carnival panorama and we are going to launch that fully to our entire fleet and there's going to be a lot of memorabilia at each of the bars and then we also offer exclusive military rates so again this is just another opportunity and this is under the general flyers here is a generic ad for example and that they say is say for example you have a cruise night and people who have never cruised so this kind of just tells you it's a piece that they can take with them if that's what you would like to do talks about what's all included the food youth programs staterooms activities carnivals vacation guarantee important to know and then once again you can put your information here as well as your logo so again this is just a nice piece that you can use for cruise nights or if you're doing a presentation if people have never cruised surprisingly I don't know what the exact percentage is but it might be about maybe only sixteen seventeen percent of the population has cruise so there's still a lot of people that have not cursed I'll show you one more under the general fliers and this is a customizable flyer this would be very helpful if you have a group and you're promoting the group you see it launches into your word and this flyer right here it starts on it shows the pic pictures water slides and so on this is your canvas you type in here so you can remove that and type whatever you want you could Center it and everything and then you insert your logo here your contact information so it's a customizable it's just a nice piece that you're able to share with your clients and again these came under marketing tools general flyers the next we're going to go to onboard flyers this is focusing upon upon activities that occur on board for example here is a diming flyer there's a dining ad there's entertainment this talks specifically about staterooms this talks about children's programs so I'll go ahead and select the dining flier and this is kind of similar to the cruising flyer people always ask if they've never cruise they don't know anything about you know what all the dining options that are available now of course this doesn't talk about everything but it really gives you a good feel and again you can customize this and then share with your clients another the kids programs for example open this flyer say you are talking to a group of people or you're you know just promoting to some families this is fun for the whole family so it talks about see kids dining camp ocean night owls club o2 circle see build-a-bear these are all the different programs for the different age groups for the kids you can customize and share with your clients right and then their staterooms entertainment there's a dining ad and again these are all found under on board of fliers the next these program Flyers and I am going to spend a little bit more time on each of these because these are excellent marketing pieces things that you really need to know more about the first is be the hero we've got carnival journeys Cheers future vacation cruise vacation flyer carnivals great vacation guarantee the weddings program and then wine packages so let me start with the hero program this is the opportunity for you to share with your clients you don't have to share this flyer but this is telling you now that you are automatically signed up and it's a great way to offer your clients and upgrade so they have a better experience vacation experience and it's better for you you earn more Commission and the next time they cruise they're going to purchase the higher category so this is all about be the hero and it's really pretty basic but what I do want to show you is when you're on the homepage of go CCL navigator you will now see either hero offers in recent bookings now obviously I don't book sometimes I make practice bookings so let's just say you have 23 recent bookings over here over on the be the hero offers there might be five offers that are available now they are limited time I would definitely check this out every each and every day now if you are with a host typically the host will say to automatically send to be the hero offer to your client it will be sent in your name your your travel advisor has shared with you this great opportunity to be upgraded and so on but do you read more details about that and check into this not everybody's going to take the upgrade offer but they really appreciate the fact that you're thinking about them so let's go back to the program players and that's where we saw the IVA hero program a great opportunity we do have a webinar on that as well the next is carnival journeys these are our longer voyages and I'll enlarge this a little so that you can see it a little bit better all right so journeys it is indicated by this little logo here so if you are in the booking or if you're looking at the brochure you will see that logo and the journeys voyages are longer than our typical seven or eight date they go 1415 and as you see there are a whole list of dates all the way through February of 2022 we continue to change and add and it kind of it tells you which ship it tells you the itinerary and then the departure court over here and over on this side kind of talks a little bit about what's different on the journeys voyages we have a throwback sea day kind of doing things that we did back in the 80s there's crew connections there's authentic eats where we invite this local chef to come on board and create a dinner in the main dining room there's local entertainment they have classes such as like la photography or like classes for Facebook and different things because they're longer voyages these are great to market to your clients who are well-traveled with carnival your Globetrotters who like to do different itineraries and different things and then those who have more time and the ability to travel for longer durations so that's a great marketing piece and again the longer voyages definitely recommend balcony they'll have a much better experience and most of them do only because they have cruise so frequently the journeys and balconies really go well together hand in hand this is our Cheers beverage program and this is the opportunity to make it all-inclusive pricing so this price here 5495 that is for three and four day cruises the longer voyage is five days and plus it's actually 5195 per person per day and then gratuity and I'll show you where we can find more information on that momentarily but this just kind of talks all about its years program what's included and it's a beer and wine champagne Cognex any drink whiskey's spirits up to twenty dollars a glass in addition to the alcoholic beverages it also includes energy drinks zero proof cocktails milkshakes bottled water anything that we offer served up to $20 a glass and then also we've got the bottomless bubbles for the adults it's eight dollars and fifty cents plus gratuity and then kids or youth 17 and under it's five ninety five and we now carry Pepsi products on board and what that includes a soda tonic club and ginger ale and orange juice tomato the different juices and also as a side note we do offer a 12-pack bottled water the 16.9 ounces for four dollars and fifty cents plus gratuity so that's a great gift if you were interested in providing something inexpensive to your clients so that's Cheers beverage program and it's a great opportunity to talk to your clients who like the all-inclusive opportunity future cruise vacation flyer this is a really great tool to work to close future sales and you can as you're talking with your clients you kind of know when the best time to do it but as you're talking to them okay maybe you're giving them the documents you just want to tell them that there is a future cruise vacation opportunity that they can book and they also have up to four weeks from the return of their crews say they come back they came back Saturday they have four weeks from Saturday to book this incredible offer this is the best offer that Carnival will will provide it's offering the early saver rates 20% lower than the fun select rates plus 50% reduced deposit $50 onboard spend or $100 if they booked a suite free upgrades and then free price protection that comes with the early saver and they have four weeks from their return to book this they can also book onboard and if they do you are the booking agent you'll get the email and that is right here but if they do not then you have the opportunity because if you don't get the email you know they did not rebook so you can follow up hey how was vacation you want to take advantage of this but if you plant the seed before they go they think about it and if they're having a really good time they're going to want to plan and it's a great way to offer them the best savings possible plus secure future bookings for your business and you can enter your information here and it's a great piece that you can share with your clients as you're finalizing their booking something else that's very important is the carnival great vacation guarantee I have been with carnival going on 21 years and we are the only Cruise Line that continues to have a vacation guarantee and very basically what that means is if for whatever reason you're not happy within the first 24 hours of leaving the port you go down to guest services and you tell them and again that's within the first 24 hours I need off the ship if they're seasick if they're claustrophobic if they're dizzy they are frightened or they don't like who they're cruising with it doesn't matter go to guest services and we will pay to fly them home either to home or to their port of embarkation we will pay so there's no charge we will refund a hundred percent of their careers fare and then if should they decide they want maybe cruise again maybe it was an emergency that they had to go they will receive $100 on more credit to be used within a year of the original cancellation so this is a great tool to use if somebody's afraid to cruise there they're afraid they're gonna get seasick and so on so it's a great opportunity to talk with clients or maybe they're afraid to try Carnival we have a vacation guarantee less than one tenth of one percent have taken us up on that so in 2019 that might equate we had about 5.7 million guests sail somewhere about 50 guests that took advantage of it another great program flyer is the weddings program this is a wonderful tool that you can use say for example you are working a bridal show say I do carnival style so it kind of talks a little bit about it and it just kind of plans to see to put the information in their head and then you can type additional information the wedding experts you know talking about your business but this is just a nice piece to share and marketing and then finally under program Flyers is the wine packages if you have foodies this is or wine people people who enjoy good food and good wine there are great discounts on wine packages so it's described over here that the wine package and then the premium one package and then if cruise the vineyards can be purchased either on board or you can call the fun shops at eight hundred five to two seventy six forty eight this has not offered online but it again if you if you're talking to somebody and you find while they really like wine they may really appreciate this additional information that you provide so these programs lawyers are excellent marketing pieces and again under marketing tools program Flyers the next we're going to talk about is the e brochures and there are a number of different brochures we've got the twenty twenty ship brochure the water brochure which is why use a travel advisor cruise brochure mardi gras charters meetings and incentives carnival entertains and wedding brochure these are actually brochures with a number of pages so let me go ahead and open up the twenty twenty ship guide and this is a really nice piece because it talks about every single ship and it has a one-page piece so and it's in alphabetical order so here's the carnival breeze it gives the tonnage the capacity on board crew of the ship class where it sails were departs from talks about the carnival breeze over the left cruise lengths and durations the ship yard the inaugural sailing the godmother accommodations everything you want to know about the ship and then you can enter your agency information and then there are some pictures and then you can print that one page if you'd like or you can continue on and again this is detail on every single one of the ships in our fleet and you can customize you can also post this on your social media if you have a website but it's a nice resource either way whether you print it individually or make it available the water brochure that's a nice piece why use a travel advisor to discuss with your clients here is the carnival fleet brochure this is the Pershore that you can order and I will show you where that is orderable through and it's a nice piece because once you have it loaded you can save and you can then share the link so that your clients can then open the brochures say you have clients that are located locally and they've got family in other states this gives you the opportunity to potentially capture more business now of course this this brochures about 90 some pages so this will take just a little longer to open up but it is a great piece here is the Mardi Gras brochure which is our new Mardi Gras coming out this fall I'll go ahead and open that that would be much quicker up Oklahoma taking a little bit longer and credible entertains the triggers and meetings and incentives what that is is if you have a business or a company that wants to do a charter meeting or incentive this is a great resource right here just to help as a guide carnival entertains if if your clients want to have like a private party on board this details what you can do and then here are the weddings and this is like about thirty pages of information so it tells you all of the different options that are available so the Mardi Gras Shore is open so I'll just I'll share this with you so that you can see this and here it is it's just one of seven pages and it's talking about the Mardi Gras shows you the original Mardi Gras where we started almost 50 years ago comparing it to the brand-new ship the corner bow the Mardi Gras and meet the zones it talks about all of the unique and different things that are available on the Mardi Gras you can also order this in a paper style just as you can order the fleet brochure which I'll open now so that was the Mardi Gras kosher here is the fleet brochure and it looks exactly like the paper brochure and so again you can scroll down and I like to share with you this is a great marketing opportunity on the very inside front cover is a letter from our president Christine Duffy she started as a travel advisor her career she was hooked on traveling she wanted to be a flight attendant but she was two inches too short so she decided okay I'll become a tribal advisor so she started at Merritt's worked her way up and became president then she moved over to CLIA as president and then joined carnival as president in 2014 in fact she just celebrated 20 years with card of 25 years with Carnival okay so I just want to point out this second to the last paragraph talking about our ship are extremely knowledgeable guides and an invaluable resource thank you for choosing a travel advisor to plan your Carnival vacation I think that's really awesome to share with your clients as well so this that again was the carnival fleet brochure and just for the sake of time I'm not going to open all of those brochures but they are all available under marketing tools electronic brochures there's also trade ads and you can select that and again I won't choose all of them but say for example activities let's go ahead and download this and this is an ad that you're able to use and I like this one because it talks about you know our travel the advisors travel agent more like a good time guru so it kind of you know talks a little bit about Carnival and just some different things so again these are just tools and resources that you are able to utilize and again these are the different ads their ships there's families so it's just a place to obtain trade ads and then we also have just your standard web banners say for example we've got more fun than we have time to talk about so these are some different banners with which you can choose let's see here how about choose fun so it just really depends on what you're looking to market and I do encourage you to take a look at all of these and and just use these as you're you know doing your marketing so we've got the trade ads web banners brochures program Flyers and then there are external marketing links let's first start with the logos videos and images this has an extensive library of all types of pictures of Fleet people on board and I've already signed into it so you can search for example be poolside let's see what comes up pull side then you can take these pictures that are already here their Shack he's our CFO chief fun officer and here's poolside you know different pictures that you can use to market and you can do that you can go buy collections and horizon and there's just so much information and so many pictures that you are able to utilize in your marketing whether it's Facebook or Instagram or whatever okay so that's under marketing tools external marketing links and there's logos videos and images we also have a carnival YouTube library or two YouTube channel I should say and hopefully this whole turn on because it will be really loud but there will be a number of YouTube videos from which to choose from if you want to post something on your social media once again that just helps to allow people to feel more like they're involved with the actual cruise experience you know they're feeling it living vicariously and then finally we do have the brochure orders and that's the final tab under marketing tools and you just simply log in if you have never ordered brochures you must first request access that is at the bottom you typically you want to go right in username and password but if you have not yet ordered brochures from Carnival request access it's a quick form filling out your name your address all of that information in about 24 to 48 hours you'll be able to order brochures once you do that you can then create your own username and password to log in and then the fleet brochure is available here as well as the water brochure and the Mardi Gras or sure the fleet brochures are available in boxes of 25 and the water brochures are available in quantities of tempt and then the MA and the Mardi Gras Mardi Gras portion is the same so that pretty much takes us through the marketing tools that are available at the top here in go CCL and also I just want to make you aware in addition to scrolling down and finding the different ads I also want to point out the popular links that are available here and there's price protection here's Wi-Fi here's the Cheers beverage program liquor beverage policy travel documents Knowledge Center I'm bringing this to your attention the knowledge center all of these takes those links take you to the knowledge center and there's so much information that you can copy and paste so there's booking procedures this talked about the fleet itineraries before you board onboard experiences deck plans and then there's popular questions and so say for example you type in camp ocean type that in search and it is going to bring up the different the results for the different youth programs say for example you've got clients that have children that are 2 to 5 we have camp ocean penguins program things to know so then you can come in here and continue medication cell phone potty train they don't need to be in the hours and then you can copy this information and share this with your clients once again this is giving you access to excellent marketing information so again we just looked at the bookings in there we looked at rates and promotions and again that all you need to do is scroll down and you will see the rates and promotions right here you can view all and then you can get more details and then again under marketing tools there is a library of all different types of flyers and brochures and things that you can use so let me just take you now I do want to let you know that as I mentioned earlier I'm with just a moment and I do see that there are some questions here all right so the first question is how far in advance can clients make their future booking they can the future bookings everything that's available right now we have our bookings open through April of 2022 so say they sail this year and they don't want to sail for another two years they can take advantage of that future cruise vacation offer and book you know next what is it February of 2022 that's what they'd like and yes this webinar is recorded and I will share it with all of the participants aha very good question Rosalynn with the great vacation guarantee if the client decides to take advantage of the great vacation 20 guarantee within that 24 hour period does the travel partner lose their commission and the question is no so if your client takes advantage of the great vacation guarantee and they decide I need off of this ship your commission is protected with the great vacation guarantee good questions here does alright so Deborah is a member of the local chamber is there something I can hand out um at the next chamber meeting to show how they can have meetings yes so the question is you if say for example you are with a chamber or a rotary and you want to you know talk more about that I would go into marketing tools and then II brochures and under the e brochures you're going to see meetings and incentives I would read that information I wouldn't type and share all of it and we better qualify and read it and understand qualified the different members of the rotary and by the way good for you Debra for being and participating in the rotary that's a great way to develop and grow your business locally so it's a really good opportunity just to go in and get that electronic brochure look at it and then when you talk more and if you find there is an opportunity for a meeting or maybe one of the businesses in the chamber does incentives that is the the launching pad for you to start all right let's see and there's I think there's more questions but I don't know oh here we go all right just got my brochures yesterday to do clients their packets for up-and-coming crews you gave them lanyards very good what to expect on the cruise itineraries like planes they love the brochures and stuff I gave them excellent that's so good you definitely need to have items available for your clients with your name in your business even something as small as a luggage tag or a pen great job that's that's the way that's why people come to you you are the experts okay and then the last question the deposit for the future cruise vacation offer is it refundable or non-refundable and that is an early saver fare the early saver has a non-refundable deposit now in some promotions they offer reduced deposit but let's just say just generally speaking a seven-day cruise is 250 dollar deposit and say my husband and I booked for next year then my niece decides she's going to get married on that exact same weekend that we are sailing we both put a 250 dollar deposit for our seven-day cruise what non-refundable means is if we have to change or cancel our sailing there's a $50 fee assessed for that change the remainder of that deposit remains with our bookings for two years to rebook and sale so I definitely recommend that you become more familiar with the early saver fare it is part of the future cruise vacation but once you get clients booking on the early saver they love it they know they're getting the lowest price guaranteed and we do have a webinar it housed in our library let me question if a family is cruising and only one person in the cabin once the 24 hour guarantee does this impact the entire cabin or just that one person just that one person good question all of you had
