so welcome to techno dad life where we build learn and create as a community in on today's episode we're going to be taking this little Raspberry Pi and we're going to be creating it into a simple free well actually not so simple you actually can be pretty creative digital signage systems that we can put anything we want and to just give you a little preview right by me is you can see it's running right now and so we have a video we have the weather we have the time and we we even have a scroller there so if you find this video helpful make sure you like and if you haven't already subscribe and here we go now [Music] in a special thank you to all my patrons who without your support this channel would not be possible thank you so just a couple of things before we get started here so besides a Raspberry Pi of course you're gonna need a monitor and then also you want to make sure you have a good SD card so I know you want to use any plain old SD card but I would actually suggest getting a new SD card just because the problems that I've seen with people usually come from two things one a old used SD card or a cheap SD card and the other one is the power supply so the new raspberry pi's they actually cannot use a power supply for a phone which is what they used to do you actually have to get a special Raspberry Pi power supply and as long as you do those two things you should have no problem with this tutorial so let's go over to the computer okay so the first thing we'll need is a Raspberry Pi will need a SD card and it has to be a micro SD card oops if I can get it out of here and you'll need an adapter for that to put that into your computer will need a Raspberry Pi case will also need a Raspberry Pi power supply and I suggest getting one that is official Raspberry Pi power supply because they work much better then we'll need an HDMI cable to connect to our monitor and then finally I suggest getting a ethernet cable and attaching that to your Raspberry Pi to your network because you'll get much better reliability that way you can still use Wi-Fi and what I would also suggest is for these items right here that you actually buy a kits and I'll leave a link in the description to a kit that I like that way you know everything works properly right from the get-go so first thing we're gonna do is go to Yoda calm and it's simply y ou de CK calm what you'll see here is that they offer a free forever plan and that's the one I use and so next what we'll...
