[Music] foreign [Music] we'll learn how to merge member profiles in common room by default common room will automatically merge Community member profiles that appear across multiple sources to create one unified member profile and if common room isn't a hundred percent confident that two or more members are the same person it will not automatically merge those profiles now in cases when common room does not automatically merge member profiles there are still four ways that we can quickly merge them manually let's talk about the first way to do this from a member profile let's say we believe this profile for Kyle Mayer is a duplicate and we want to merge his profile we can do this by clicking on merge at the top right corner of his profile here in the search bar we'll type in the name email address or another keyword to find the duplicate profile now we'll select the profile we'd like to merge click next and finally we'll click merge to complete the process keep in mind you cannot undo a merge once it's completed so make sure that the profiles you merge are indeed the same member before you merge them now let's take a look at the second way to merge member profiles from the members Explorer here we can look for duplicate members we can see that there are two profiles for Kyle Mayer now we can begin to merge those profiles by clicking on the check boxes to the left of each profile Avatar and then clicking on merge in the action bar here to complete the merge click on yes and that's it the two profiles will now be merged into one now let's see how to merge profiles from the proposed merges modal in the member Explorer click on the proposed merges button at the top right corner here the proposed merge model will pop up and from here we can explore all the member profiles that common room believes are duplicates but wasn't a hundred percent sure so they were not automatically merged we can see matches between two profiles highlighted in green as well as the reason common room suggested the merge here to proceed with merging two profiles simply click yes or we can click no if we don't believe the profiles are a match we can also explore more potential merges using the arrows at the top of the modal here to exit proposed merges simply click anywhere outside of the modal to return to the member Explorer finally let's take a look at how to merge member profiles from the organization profile this one is the exact same process as merging profiles from the member Explorer simply select duplicate profiles from the members list click on merge in the action bar and then click yes to complete the merge but that's merging members in common room
