i think if we look at the longer time frames the um uh crypto winters what people call crypto gold crypto and stock markets go through four year cycles uh in crypto the bitcoin halvings every four years in the re um in the normal traditional world um us presidential elections every four years so there are four year cycles in our society and we've seen stock markets go through four year cycles and crypto so far has done have gone through four year cycles not to say history will predict the future but if we based on the four-year cycles then the winter will last you know a month to a couple years probably and then um i think we're like one year in from the previous all-time high um so the um the the inflation the interest rate adjustments et cetera those all affect uh the markets but those are short term i think longer term given how much money was printed over the cove um last couple years and the amount of quantitative easing that was done inflation would definitely kick in um just by simple logics and then cryptocurrencies the big ones you know bitcoin b and b coin ethereum their limited supply so their supply didn't increase um and the number of people getting into this industry and the utility the number of people who need to use those coins have increased the demand have increased but today unfortunately so in theory um uh if we go by supply demand um there's a very simple logic to derive from that but today um the crypto many people trading cryptocurrencies are also in the stock market so when the stock market tanks uh people want to hold cash and they also sell cryptocurrencies so today's on the short time frame it's kind of it's kind of coupled but in theory they should be decoupled as we talk short term the merge is almost upon us and for ethereum a new operating system about a day out for the countdown what's the buzz in the sector and what sort of volumes could you anticipate on the back of the merge um i think the merge so again many people many people have very high short-term expectations for the merge they think you know the ethereum gas fees will drop from ten dollars per transaction to two cents overnight um that's most likely not gonna happen so that's it's a long process the ethereum upgrade takes uh multiple stages over multiple months or years so but it is a very good development though um it is it is progressing the right direction so and it is a strong innovation so the uh the merge will have will happen today or tomorrow and then um but the fee the ethereum gas phase will not drop immediately but um when the other upgrades like sharding kicks in that's when we expect those fees to drop which is a fantastic development...
