hello my name is Eileen thank you for joining me for the third and final video in our migration series in this video I will be discussing how to drive user adoption in your SharePoint migration project migration projects require evolution which means change many workforces are resistant to change especially changes that happen outside of them so bring workers into the project allow them to become part of the change rather than something that change is enacted upon migration from SharePoint on-premise to office 365 it's not an easy or inexpensive endeavor if your company is making this move or about to make this move hopefully it's because this move aligns with your company's business strategy hopefully your migration has the full support of company leadership company leadership can aid in the user adoption process by vocally throwing their full support behind it if the migration initiative is truly an important initiative the company and all the employees need to know this without question leadership sets the tone bring your users in at the beginning of your migration project SharePoint in office 365 is a strong tool that can make their lives better but they need to be sold on the idea build a product demo that showcases the new functionalities that can be gained by a migration make sure your future users have a clear picture of the future you are describing set up your user feedback system early users should be encouraged to provide project design input as the project progresses these users have valid input and they should be allowed to contribute to the end product including user feedback will help build trust between the new tool and your users this trust is important to gain user buy-in take a phased approach to your migration project bring users in with each phase to build familiarity incorporate user feedback at each phase to work through bugs with this approach your users are engaged in the migration project and committed to its success as you manage your migration project make your new SharePoint environment user-friendly build simple intuitive sites with easy navigation communicate with users throughout the project to inform them on project progress and especially team wins and successes this helps your users invest in the project even before they start using it lead by example each member of the project stakeholder and project implementation groups has the ability to set the mood throughout the project consistently supporting the initiative and vocalizing the project goals helps the entire organization decide how to feel about the migration project and keep collecting user feedback identify power users and site owners for the new SharePoint environment these users will need to receive extra training to qualify them as subject matter experts for your business these users are also important resources to utilize during general user training if you're developing the extra expertise in-house why not use it to place more experts in the training classroom these extra teachers in the...
