what's happening guys back for another quick tip tuesday and today we've got an answer to a question i've gotten lots of times in the past and that is how do i move my play head using the time code i want to punch in a time code i know i want to go to five minutes or whatever it is how do i do that can i do that and in the past i wasn't really sure how to do it but i happened to stumble on how to do it and it's actually super easy like a lot of things in resolve once you know how to do it you're like well duh that's pretty easy but if you didn't know it it might be a little hard to figure it out so let's jump and resolve and show you how you can just plug in a number to jump to a certain time code in your video or how you can even jump ahead you know whatever you want say you want to jump ahead two minutes and 33 seconds boom you can jump ahead like that so let's jump to result and show you how to do it all right so in resolve here i do have a project up in my timeline and i'm in the edit tab right here so this is where we're going to be looking at how to do this you might be able to do it in cut i don't know i haven't tried it out because well honestly i don't really use the cut tab that much but anyway right here in the edit tab so what i want to do is be able to jump to a certain point in my timeline using the time code now you might think all right i can't change anything over here with the time code so how do i do it well if you have your main viewer open over here if you come up to right here this time code which actually is the same as right down here they match but if you come up right here and you click in here look now i have the ability to type in whatever i want now when you type in your numbers here remember we have hours minutes seconds and frames so you need to use this format if you want to go to a specific point in your timeline for example let's say i want to go to three minutes and 10 seconds on my timeline so i'm going to type in zero zero because there's no hours i'm going to put in a period then i'm going to go to three minutes and then i'm going to put in another period and now seconds let's say i wanted i don't know 30 seconds i don't know what i said before but let's say 30 seconds and then i'm going to hit another period and just do zero frames...
