good afternoon everyone I would like to start by just thanking like a new radio foundation and then for setting up this awesome conference for all of us to get together and share ideas new developments collaborate on things one thing that you kind of get going towards the end of a conference is you get to feel sort of the what people are interested in you get to see where they want to get to and potentially how they want to get there and one theme that I kind of picked up on throughout this conference was this idea of heterogeneous processing right so this idea of taking your algorithm and it's different pieces and parts and throwing it throwing any type of hardware you could think of to optimally run that particular block and it's potentially just shuffling those blocks all around as well painlessly so a little bit about me my name is David pokrovsky I worked for a subsidiary of Boeing called Boeing intelligence analytics but it's software engineer and I've been working on this integration of open CPI and Ganu radio for the past four six months or so and that's what I'm here to tell tell you about today so just before we start can I get a show of hands of FPGA developers out here okay how about software developers that want to use FPGAs but don't know how okay this is what the this presentation will be very interesting to you so there's there's three things I want you to get out of this presentation and if I can express those ideas I've been successful in my job the first one is I need I want you to know what open CPI is at a slightly deeper than surface level so just be able to explain what it is the second thing is what we're doing with GRC right now the third thing is how to get more information and I'm going to go that's the different pieces of my presentation are laid out in that way so this first section I'm going to do some explanation of open CPI what is it because I'm guessing most of you probably don't know what it is and then what we're actually doing with the GRC and then how to get more information so open CPI stands for open component portability infrastructure basically what it is is a framework that allows you to it's a component based framework you use your components to build applications in a homogeneous way so your component is going to be some abstract definition of a part of an algorithm and then you have different implementations of that for different paradigms of programming so like hardware FPGA development software potentially GPUs and the open CPI framework just handles all of the communication between them for you and the switching and the deployment of your application for you and from the ground up this has been designed to be platform...
