[Music] hi this is John Morgan with the latest video tip for 2020 design if you double clicked on a floor plan second tab is called dimensions and if I click on the plus next to where it says Auto dimension my computers already set up so whenever I draw a kitchen all of these are unchecked except for something called construction element the windows walls and doors so let's go back to what the original setting would look like on your computer turn all dimensions on I'm going to click apply and if I move my counter over here a little bit you'll see that we are just now completely mind blown by all the dimensions that are on the screen you come back into display settings you simply go in and turn off all the auto dimensions and then you simply put a check mark next to construction elements only hit apply and then it goes back so if I go in right now and I say let's save this setting the way we have it I'm going to give it a name and I'm going to call this December webinar I'm going to go ahead and click Save if you look over here it says schemes you'll see December webinars one of my options as is all the twenty twenty standard settings now when we click OK I have simply changed this one floor plan to have a setting like you're looking at just basic dimensions but what I really want to do is I want to set my computer up so that every time I start a plan it uses my favorite setting here's how you do that you go to file you pop back down here to preferences and under preferences there is an option called display tab schemes and you'll see over here it says all all their dimensions I want you to notice where it says display tab and it gives the names they're actually the same names that you see at the bottom of the screen so you can give a different setting to every one of these tabs so let's say we come up here we say all you see where it says the scheme is called 2020 I can come down here and choose December webinar and what will happen is is when I hit apply every kitchen I do from this point forward will always use my favorite setting which I called December webinar
