this is something i've had requests several times is moving rows between tabs when the tab names don't match the drop downs so we've done things before where we have a list of drop downs and a list of tabs and we simply move things by selecting the same name the same name in the drop down as we have in the tabs but here i have a different i have cody rex and echo and in the drop downs i have commander arc and captain and the way i want this mapped is if i choose commander it should move to cody if i choose arc it should move to echo and if i choose captain it should move to rex so same principle we've used before but in previous versions we've been able to just say move to the tab with the same name as the value right and this is how to do it when the names don't match jump in here and of course this is going to be an on edit function and you know i'm going to call it twice so i'm just going to do an r equals e dot range because i'm going to use that r twice so easier to just make a variable for it if r dot column start is not 3 because that's where we are here in 3 or r dot row start is equal to one and you know i do want to be able to delete them without it running through an erroring out so or e dot value equals null if any of those things are true return so just to run through if it is not column three or if it is row one or if it's blank which means we deleted a value then quit out of the script don't try to do anything else it's the same as saying if r dot com start equals three and r dot row start not equal to one and e dot value not equal to null then do same thing i'm just switching the logic so that it can quit easier i find it easier all right let's declare our sheet our spreadsheet const sh spreadsheet app dot get active okay and in previous versions we've done something like let des equals h dot get sheet by name e dot value that's what we've normally done and if i have these named cody if i had in here cody rex echo that would work just fine but i don't have that so instead i'm going to declare two arrays const vowel array that's just what i'm calling it call it whatever you want and here's where i'm going to put the options from my drop down commander captain arc and then i want a dest array a destination array and here what's really important is that the order needs to match up so commander should map to cody captain should map to rex and...
