a great feature that tik-tok offers is to add text to videos and in addition to adding text you can place text at different times in the video and do this swipe that is often seen in tic toc challenges let's get into how to add text and time when you want words to show up so you'll open your tic toc app and you'll record a video you can also pre record the video and then upload the video as long as you have an idea on how you want to interact with your text while you're recording the video so once you have your video ready you will add text by clicking the character button and you'll see that there are different fonts that you can choose from you can also choose to have your text in a highlighted box if you type in your text you'll see that the box shows up as white but you can also do a translucent box and you can have no box and this is offered for every font available you can also change the color of the box by choosing the colors on the bottom part of the menu there are several kinds of fonts that you can choose from and if you don't want the box you can still change the color of the text so that is simply how you add text to your video now let's get into timing your text so that you can place it at different parts of the video you'll click the text and you'll see that a box shows up surrounding the text and in the upper right hand corner is a clock that clock is the timer and in the timer you can edit when the text will show up so you'll come to the timer window and you'll see you'll just click and drag the window to the point in the clip where you would like the text to show in this clip you'll see that I want to have the name Chloe show up at the beginning and so it is going to last for about two seconds and ends around 1.9 seconds so when I click play Chloe will show up from the beginning to 1.9 seconds and then it disappears then I can go back to the video and add another text which is the name Jessica and then click the timer and go back in and I'm going to place Jessica right after Chloe disappears so I put it right at two seconds and then I drag the bar until I'm happy with how long I want Jessica to be there so I'm gonna have that for about a second and a half and so when I play it and drag the bar back to the beginning you'll see that Chloe begins and then Jessica ends so that is how you can work out when you want text to show up in your video once you're...
