[Music] let's have a look at a demonstration notarization session on the onenotary platform [Music] here you can see that on the left i am logged in as a notary and on the right i will be the signer this is my email i've just received this email from my notary on the one notary platform this gives me instructions on what i need to do in order to get started i have a quick look at this and then i click get started this takes me to the one notary page where i create a simple password and get going here is my practice notarization where i've just been invited now i'm going to check my camera and my connection and of course i will allow so that i can be seen on the video [Music] all right my usb camera is working my microphone's working and my speakers are the ones i've chosen i'll save and proceed right here so you'll see i have four steps my participant listed so if i wanted to add somebody like let's say i needed my husband to also sign a form i could add him here myself the next step will be preparing the documents i can see that my notary or the business who has hired my notary has already uploaded the form that we need to sign together now i could upload additional forms here if i wanted to i can actually upload up to 35 megabytes which in one file is about 150 pages or one time i did an experiment and i was able to upload 42 single page documents to one session now i'll identify myself since this is a demo i will make myself a little bit younger the last four of the social security number is all that's needed and we can just put gibberish now i've got my questions you'll notice two minutes are all i have to answer five questions now this is a demonstration so it's telling me the correct answers and i'll check that [Music] and now i move on the next step is to take a photograph of my identification so i'm going to text my phone now let's say i'm outside the country or something and i can't receive a text i could also just click this verification link via email what's important is that i open the email on my phone so that i can use my phone's camera now i'm getting this four-digit secure code i'll use this to access the text that's been sent to my phone i'm entering the key now 8615 [Music] and now i'm taking a picture of the front of my driver's license and now it's telling me to take a picture of the back of my driver's license [Music] it wants a picture of the back as well because driver's licenses have barcodes and qr codes our contractor who runs identification is checking both to make sure that the id is valid all right i've uploaded both pictures here using my phone the pictures aren't staying on my phone i just went directly to the provider now i can proceed now i'm at blue ready to start and my notary has been notified on the left side my notary can now start the session and now i as a signer can click connect [Music] [Music] these white screens are normal as soon as they finish loading the notarization can begin now at this point is the notary will be looking at a driver's license that's here on the screen and be comparing it to my signer after i confirm that the people are one and the same i go ahead and confirm the id of my signer now i as the notary can see the document and the signer can always see the document as well now this is the first toolbar the notary will use this toolbar in case he or she needs to zoom pan or look at multiple pages of documents in a row and then the signer can't manipulate anything beyond zooming and panning and looking at those docks the notary will assign all tasks to the signer now let me show you what i did here i clicked this pencil on the notary side this brings up the second and last toolbar for the notary the notary can assign a signature tool task to the signer you can see i've i've just clicked on it and now i'm going to place a signature right here from my signer and i'll assign it to her and then here the signer received this green box it says sign here when she clicks on it she has the opportunity to sign or to choose this to have a font-based signature created for her or even upload one if there's already a signature that the person has they like to use and there's an image on the computer they can go ahead and upload this here the most common is drawing now the notary does not have any ability to delete a signature once it's already been placed designer can [Music] these are for initials this is the signer initials tool so here the notary can place a space to assign to the signer to do initials so i over here can do this and once it's clicked and applied the notary sees it showing here this is how we know it's going to be on the final document is when the notary can see it if the notary can't see it yet the signer needs to do something they need to click outside or click apply this is a check box tool the notary can apply a check box tool wherever the signer tells them to so in this example i would say madame signer do you like onenotery.us and she tells me yes so i assign her a check box at the yes box now my signer on the right side can click yes now we can also do signer free text this is useful and i use it a lot whenever we need to put an address or a bank account or routing number wiring instructions or the designer needs to tell me or to state a social security number on a form or a driver's license number or something like this because you may not want that being explained in the video you may not want to be saying your social security number on the video the video is public record someone could request it but uh if it's silent the video does not include the document so the signers more in control of personal information typing it themselves so here i as the signer have been assigned this text box by my notary from the free text tool this is only for the signer to fill in a notary can't type anything in here [Music] so the box was a little bit small so i'm going to go ahead and have my notary make it bigger there we go the next tool you see here is the notary seal the notary can place her seal after all oaths have been sworn everything's been completed and it can be resized to fit a document that might be a little bit tight for the full-size seal here's an alert tab so we can show the signer where they need to fill something in make sure that if you're the notre you delete this so that it does not show up on the final form this is a useful tool this rectangle tool this is whenever you need to white something out so here on our practice sheet it says white out these words let's do that here and it's gone this signature tool is for the notary the notary will sign using this tool and create and then place it here the notaries digital certificate is automatically behind this electronic signature the notary has uploaded his or her digital certificate to the profile for that notary and every time an e-signature is completed that digital certificate is applied now here we've also got text boxes very useful we can add any text that we need so it's very flexible the state and county will always be the venue of the notary so if you are a business sending us forms to notarize with your clients you can leave these blank we will fill them in and my signer will sign here you can use your text box to insert today's date with a shortcut there's also the shortcut for notary's full name and for the language saying that this was an online notarization this is the shorthand ron remote online notarization let's put today's date and we can move it so it's nice and neat let's enter the notaries name on this next option all set and then we can fill in the text boxes this is very common you'll see this 17th day of december simply use spacebar 2020 and then you've got them perfectly set now we do like these types of notarial certificates that offer the choice of physical presence or online notarization actually i believe these are required in florida and i've noticed more and more attorneys and other entities adopting this makes it very very simple for the notary to simply create an x and mark the correct choice so there's never any question and also whoever's created these stocks isn't going to have to redraw them in the case that online notarization did not work and it needed to be done in person docs are still ready to go and then again we'll put the date all right this form is now complete so i'll ask my signer to please check my work make sure the dates are correct make sure the spellings of her name are correct and then i will complete this session when i complete the session i let my signer know that in three to five seconds the video will end no need to touch anything the video will end on its own and then right after that the documents will be available for download my experience is fantastic now here on the right remember i am the signer i can download my documents right here and it's letting me know that i have to get them within seven days so christmas eve is the last day that i can download these documents and it tells me who is my notary public from which state and the date of the commission expiration of that notary now on the left side you can see that i as the notary i have the opportunity to download the video when i download the video i can save it anywhere on my computer or somewhere secure and
