hey notaries Christian here with a new video and we've got to talk about the fact that you should not panic if you happen to screw up on a California acknowledged manager rat that's on the document so for example here we have a quick claim deed if you happen to screw up down here don't panic it's fine all you have to do is add another California acknowledgement order at to the document now it happens I know that sometimes we feel a lot of pressure so let's say somebody is filling out this form right here this quick claim deed they have it all filled out they have it sign they have it dated they spent time making this document here so by the time it gets to you you feel that pressure you feel hey you know this is a final step once I complete this a document is 100% ready to go and I better not mess up and that's fine yeah we don't want to make any earth why we want to get it right the first time but if you do happen to make a mistake down here that's perfectly okay you can always get another California acknowledgement with the correct verbage of course and attach it to this document or the document that you're notarizing so in this case we have a quick claim deed right so let's say you wrote County of Los Angeles for some reason and your notarizing in the County of San Diego dang it now you messed up right or does this mean that the whole document is invalid now does it mean that all of this is no longer valid no this is all still valid the only part that's not valid is your California acknowledgement but there's a remedy for that you just pull out your California acknowledgement and you attach it to this here that's all you got to do it's really that simple and this works for the California acknowledgement for the California jurat it's the exact same concept so let's say is give I'm gonna give you another example let's say I misspelled a name so I everything is all filled out I'm getting to the bottom right here on you know December 17th 2019 before me seamen Ghia personally appeared and I make a mistake I make an error on writing their names dang it I just screwed up the whole paper does that mean that all of this is invalid no it's still it's still good this is still good the top portion is still good the portion that they filled out the portion that they signed is still good the only part that is no longer valid is your acknowledgment but that's fine you got more in your bag or even if you don't maybe they have a printer nearby and you could just print one online long as it has a correct verbage you fill out the California acknowledgement and then you attach it either paperclip it or staple it to this document here either way it's legally attached so don't panic you got this as long as you got more drats or acknowledgement forms in your bag you could always attach it and this is common practice this happens a lot I mean I remember one of the first times that I ever notarized in a real estate transaction this happened with an escrow company and it was like my second time ever notarizing this is years ago and one of the documents I think I was crossing out his-and-her and I accidentally went a little bit too far past her and like like there wasn't like all the way you know when they needed it clear and I was like whoa there are thing or hyper-vigilant that's never happened to me again but I went ahead and I provided a new acknowledgement I thought they are thinking I have to resign the whole thing and they were like no just go ahead and give us an original acknowledgement for that signing and I was like alright awesome so you know just go ahead and and and be assured that if you mess up on your section you have a lot of acknowledgments there that you could replace it with you have a lot of joy rats and I'm gonna give you one more example so that you feel confident when you're filling these out a lot for some reason a lot of a lot of lawyers and a lot of people that deal with legal paperwork for some reason they tend to forget these two common rules that they always repeat to you at the county recorders office and they're constantly recording documents so I feel like they should know but this isn't this isn't a blow at attorneys or lawyers but often they forget to put this little disclaimer up here so US notaries we know that if this little disclaimer is not mentioned here in the state of California nobody's going to accept it it's not valid so what do we do we always add a California acknowledgement to that how is that any different that if you were to make a mistake here adding a California acknowledgment to it it's no different it's a different type of mistake but it's the same concept to fix it it's the same concept of fix it you just add your attachment so another common mistake that I've seen is that the acknowledgement will be on two separate pages so the acknowledgment will start off right here but then like the second half of the acknowledgement will be on the next page the County Recorder's office will not allow you to record it that way but again you could just add your California acknowledgement to that or California right whichever one you're using and how is that any different it's no different right than if you were to make a mistake right here and just add your acknowledgement to it it's no different guys same concept so though the main conclusion is this video is just that if you happen to make an error on a California jury or acknowledgement that's on the actual document do not worry that document is still valid and the only way I mean and the only thing you have to do is just add your attachment to make that remedy so that's that does it for that for this video guys if you guys have any questions just go ahead and please leave them in the comment section below reach out to me if you have any questions info at my notary class.com I hope you guys have a great evening I hope you guys are having a great holiday season stay cold stay warm I don't know whichever one you prefer I think most people prefer warmth but you know if you're out there and the snow have fun enjoy it and yeah I hope to see you guys for the next video
