hi everybody mike welcome to the community spotlight by notary coach today my name is bill soroka founder of notary coach and author of the sign in thrive how to make six figures as a mobile notary and loan signing agent book hey steve thanks got it right there uh guys uh thank you so much for joining me on a saturday morning to geek out on all things notary uh since i founded notary coach back just over three years ago now i've been talking about how this industry is ripe for innovation and people who take initiative to drag our industry into the current century using technology new skills strategies designed to help us be of more service and create a sustainable business around this so this is what community spotlight's all about it's not easy to put yourself out there to create uh and be vulnerable with the public so i honor anybody who really steps up to the plate here and tries to be of service and help us all out in a business that we're passionate about and that's why i'm excited to introduce you today to jason thompson jason is a fellow mobile notary and loan signing agent from the state of washington and he and i have been working together now for about two years uh we got to meet in person a couple times at some washington meetups uh one time at the notary symposium and jason's got a tech background so obviously he saw that this industry was right for innovation he was running into some challenges and he created a solution and that's why i invited him on today just to to share more about what it is that he's doing so we're going to hang out for about an hour with the presentation from jason you know he doesn't normally do this kind of thing so uh we've he's been working hard to put this all together for you and then at the end uh we'll have a live q a session as i mentioned before i'll be monitoring the chat so if you have questions as we're going through just keep them going into the chat window we may not have all the answers right in the beginning but i am putting those into a q a document so at the end of the call we'll be able to address as many of those questions as possible so we have an hour presentation and then there'll be about 30 minutes or so for q a and then jason already anticipating uh more questions has a special q a session uh scheduled again so we'll get all of your answers questions jay our question answered all your questions answered jason you still here with me i am thank you for that intro jason yeah thank you so much i know it takes a lot of courage to create and put yourself out there and i just really want to honor you for doing this and honor everybody on the call who's taking time out of their weekend to be here and support you so thank you so much for being here thank you yeah you bet so jason tell us a little bit about your story how you got started and what uh what prompted this whole thing yeah so like bill said we've known each other for about two years or so um actually a little over two years i think because i got my notary license um i got my mission back in july fourth of uh two years ago of night 18. so kind of fun there um i ran across bill on one of his youtube videos i got hooked on it signed up for classes um these all all these wonderful insights on these videos and webinars and education trainings are great so that got me hooked um an adventure on my own with the loan signings uh general nerdy work or as lower likes referred to specially nobody work um so there's that uh and i found out that my number one question was really how much um how much for notary work how much to drive to my place or maybe at starbucks or wherever um and sometimes i got the quote sometimes i didn't or sometimes i got the job and sometimes i didn't um but there was an opportunity that i found that could save time because it obviously providing a manual quote um working with the customer takes some time sometimes um so if i were able to weed that out in the very beginning and if they wanted to do business with me or if they saw that i offered good service then they would potentially sign up so that's kind of where i started with this um and i've built this probably for about a year now a little over a year working on this um i had to initially it was pretty basic but over the year i've redefined it and fine-tuned it to form where it's fits with the compliance of today's laws privacy laws consumer protection laws um so there's a lot of efforts um getting that to work correctly um but now it's ready to go so we can probably get started i have a presentation but i love that you i love how much detail you put into this because the way my brain works i just want an automated text system and then that's it i just want to be able to get it make it easy to do and as you've dived into this i cannot believe all the uh the red tape and the detail that you put into this making sure everything is compliant on the federal and the state level so um kudos to you this is impressive yeah so national wide i mean you have to look at everything obviously i'm not a lawyer so i can't advise there but uh i mean i had a lawyer look at it um there are so of course several federal uh acts federal laws that we have to follow in that regard uh that perfect they're for consumer protection so yeah a lot a lot a lot going on there yeah um in addition to i built kind of the road for this but uh the messages and the fees and the structure can be used nationwide for anyone um as long as it fits within your notary law uh you can definitely use that so if it's a per stamp fee or or if you're able to charge a price per mile or if you have set zones um those fit within the solution uh interchangeably so it's it's good there cool let's show them what you what you built so let me share my screen actually it looks like it's disabled you might notice i do that every time sorry let me grant the permission there there you go [Music] okay can everybody see the screen yeah it's looking good perfect so my intro here uh built for notre dame notary public professionals by a felony public um there's my intro again kind of going over what we had um really was my price for uh generating notary work that's the my number one question i'm assuming it's probably pretty popular with everyone else here um and then i built the solution that basically has no customer training they don't need additional app they know how to text um they available day or night um and it saves the customer time they get an answer quick if they if it's not a right fit the customer can move on real quick or if you're too far away or your fees are your travel fee is too far because it's too far away then you can the customer can move on um and look for another person or if they found that you're professional then you can definitely stay with that um kind of defining here what an sms chat robot is uh basically it's put simply it's a way to communicate from people using text messages on established program for this solution we're going to provide quotes to customers in seconds uh reducing missed phone calls uh from your cell phone or if you're out busy or out of the signing or anything like that awesome this is uh what i love about this is there's so many times that we get contacted while we're already in an appointment and one of my pet peeves is never take a call when you're in an appointment with somebody else never divert your attention so that's what's so attractive to this is you build a solution where people can get the information they need your potential customers and still not interrupt your current signing yeah and then you still set your fees and your zones i call them zones but it's basically areas that you have defined fees for um you still set that as you do with your business um each solution is unique so i'm just providing the road uh you choose what car you want to drive on it basically nice um we'll get into a demo real quick so i have a phone here ready to go uh with the phone number here so the the solution starts off with uh the keyword quote so can we can we set this up for a minute jason like so this is a customer who's on your website saying they see oh you're a noted they've googled you they it pops up and they say all right i need a quote and you've got this you've got this instruction on your website that says hey for a free quote text quote to this number yep yep so you probably seen the ads on tv uh text this for that or whatever same thing so they they come in through your website um they probably find you on uh search engine optimization seo um so they find you there they they notice that you have a banner or a picture that has some sort of instructions on what to do um so they see this phone number they're gonna text quote to this phone number great and oop there it goes so it takes a second or two to come back the first message is gonna be the legal message so we'll kind of go over that real quick so it's got your company there so my name my company jt notary uh thanks for interest in getting a quote our automated system will ask a series of questions uh the next paragraph is the typical legal uh the statement there and then the next text that first paragraph is fully customizable so that's your intro to what you want um i put uh good morning and that actually good morning good afternoon and good evening is based off the notary time so that that changes depending on what time it is nice uh so jt notary robot at your service to your question a quick quote i provide i'm programmed to provide you a quick quote in seconds um if you choose to hire we'll need additional information for you so basically it asks a couple things here please follow the instructions and then if you want to move forward you put the zip code you want service in so for me 98029 for me that is what i call my travel zone and that's 25 dollars to do that um from there i ask how many notarized signatures are needed numbers only so they don't type into two or something like that so i'll just put four okay so there's a summary i'm gonna show so the left is the notary cell phone the right is the customer so as we complete this quote you'll see that notary gets a text immediately right after so right here if you scroll up you have a summary what the fee is not confirmed until by confirmed by you just make sure it's correct there's the price there's a little statement here if additional notifications are needed in order notarizations are needed it would be the ten dollars for each um this is uh what i call the surcharge statement you may receive additional fee if motivation occurs during rush hour um if that's if your state doesn't allow that you can definitely get rid of that and we'll go over that a little bit more there's a statement on the witnesses if there's a witness um i don't always notor i don't always know exactly if there's a witness there so they're just putting a text there and then this is a legal piece here may the notary follow up with you later about this quote so we're just going to say yes um if if the normally set of the customer says no then you definitely want to respect that but this is a legal piece here so i'm just going to say yes and you notice the notary got an immediate text right here with the summary of what happened and then the customer gave permission to call back um and then right here we have an option to move to the second stage so basically what we've done here is provide a quote um initial quote for the customer and i'm just gonna say no uh basically said thank you for opportunity allowing us to write a quote would like to earn your business um for this purpose i was gonna say no and then you're gonna get a final thank you message um if you ever want to come back or if you find that you need to if you weren't able to find a notary um you can you can come back here's a phone number my website this is all customizable you can put whatever you want in this message except for that last sentence um that is standard so that's that's it for the initial quote um kind of cool uh it shows a little bit everything that's that's going on the notary has full visibility of what what happened to the customer if i start over again so there's the initial starting over again message and we're going to say the same thing 98029 same thing there so let's do three notarizations different price but same same information there really say yes there so get the text notary gets a text again um and then i'm going to say yes this time so i like this notary i'm going to work i'm going to see what they can do basically it's would you like to continue providing info to us we can better assist you i'm going to ask here is the address to meet um the talk the document type and maybe the name if they want to provide those of that information there so we're going to say yes here uh tell me the address you'd like to meet um so this is not you're not set in stone this is still quote but it's given a better idea of the customer so i'm leveraging google to provide the address but google works with places so if i do i do seattle public market that's going to leverage google to go find that address now it works with the full address here so you can you can do your starbucks or wherever i'm sure we have the the map here to make sure the customers got it right you know what actually i'm going to change that to something else i'm going to change it to meet at the gum wall if any of you know seattle that is a weird tourist attraction um that is very interesting but i'm going to say no that is not correct we're going to have opportunity again to say where do you want to meet and then i'll do the gum wall again leveraging google define that different address if you notice there is the gum all as gross as it sounds jason it is literally as gross as it sounds and you'll see in a minute of what i mean there but i don't know why it's attraction but it literally is that okay um probably not the best place to visit the pandemic anyways uh we reply yes so this is where i want to meet [Music] um i ask what kind of document they're needing notarized so basically i just you just want a kind of idea of what they want right if it's a will power of attorney um really nothing confidential here they can also decline um but i'm just gonna say will for here and then this is what name so when you call them um basically you know who to ask for so i'm just going to say i'll pretend i'm john today um you know you say no thanks there as well and there's the final thank you message with a customer a little promo code and information so you can see the notary got a text with additional information literally the gun wall this is a google image um google places or google street view of that so you can kind of see where you're going you have an idea of kind of uh what neighborhood you're going to if you're meeting at a starbucks you kind of get an overview of where to go kind of thing um you have the full address to meet down there at the bottom you have the current traffic um real-time drive time uh estimated minutes and miles and just for the fun of it i threw some weather in there so you can see what the weather is you can see the northernization it's a will and the name was john so basically that that completes that piece uh for following that information there now if i have an area that is um beyond my set zones or let's say your state only allows you to charge a per mile uh fee and not have set established zones that we can do that here too so i'll just start a new quote starts out the same so this is out of my set zones but i'm still willing to travel to this area so if if for example if you only can charge a per mile fee this message this second paragraph can be customized to whatever you like but for me i'm just saying this zip code's out of my travel zone and please wait uh while we calculate if the exceptions can be made depend on availability so just letting them know it's a little farther away we'll work out a common ability if there's a possibility there i'm going to say yes that's that's what i want and then i got the travel fee based off of my travel fee and the distance so google calculates the distance it shows what route to go for me um and it calculated at 38 miles and 59 for that same thing how many notary signatures you want let's say four and then you have a little summary up here so fifty nine dollars travel fee forty dollars to foreign organizations uh same sentence there really as the the notary fee i'm gonna say no say decline the call and then of course you can see that the customer declined permission to call so we're going to ask that you respect that wishes and don't contact them unless they contact you right just want to make sure that that's defined there so it it shows the privacy uh respect but it still shows that you that person uh created a quote so if they do contact you later on at least you have that information to kind of go what's go what know what's what's going on i'm gonna say no here because we kind of know what the route is if we were to say yes and then here it gives them a little note write that that second paragraph since you decline permissions letter to call back you'll have to call them for a follow-up basically it lets them know um that that if they want to take action on it they're gonna have to call but it's the same kind of thank you message here um for my company and then that ends that that quote there so that's kind of it for the demo for the quote i'll go into a little bit of the breakdown of how it works um so this solution may not fit all states or build you want to say i was just saying you're getting lots of great questions so you nailed it that's really awesome everybody's really excited about that so i just want you to know they're they've got some great questions for you at the end nice perfect uh so the solution may not fit all states rules i'm don't know i'm not an expert in notary law for every state so i can't uh be um designing that or i can't be a recommendation of if it's gonna work or not so there might be some times where it may not be easily computed or the solution doesn't necessarily fit so i can't offer advice or guidance i rely on the information you provide me and i make good faith efforts to make the solution work um of course check with your local secretary of state and nna for guidance uh state of integrity with notary law of course um and some customers might think this might be a spam bot so customers initiation initiating the communication to to me um basically so or to you uh so it's not necessary we're not sending outbound communications so we're not spamming we're not spamming customers they're initiating that communication to us and then of course uh the the note here follow-up consumer protection the marketing law is not a lawyer and i can't offer advice uh but i can't define what we've set our established uh terms uh basically there's two different stages first stage is designed to get a quote the most effective and quick as possible ask a couple questions how many is where or where are you going what zip code uh and how many notarized signatures and then provide a quote based off of quick math to find out just to that in seconds the second stage is if they wanted to do business with you and they provided that additional information like they have just to meet um it's still not a guarantee at this rate uh but it's still it's moving forward and then you can have that conversation with them to find out when and where uh for sure lock in what document type make sure that you can still notarize that document type of course i get requests for documents i can't notarize so that fits within this this initial conversation so most messages are customizable but system calculations are not um during the onboard stage you'll have as an opportunity to state your custom message as desired i built in a lot of error checking for invalid zip codes four digit codes um options for the customer to start over if they made a typo i just kind of noticed on the thing that there's a given time frame for the quote to be valid for you can put that in the message one of the messages that you want um if you want to say valid for a week an option there i just kind of noticed that in the chat that popped up but uh definitely an option for you there so if you don't have set zones this tool is actually a great tool um because what you can do is pick areas and kind of have a neat little identifying the factor what what zip code is in that area i'll put this in the chat there it is so you can kind of choose like if you wanted to include these zip codes for zone a and then if you wanted to start over and you're going to do these zip codes for zone b um you can definitely do that with this it's a click and go copy and paste kind of thing but if you don't have established zones this tool can help you out i have five different zones zone a through zone e with a manual zone so we saw the manual zone uh we saw zone a and the testing basically i've just encapsulated different zip codes in a particular area how far distance it is from my drive time so this is a breakdown so for example any any zip code in zone a would be 25 any zip code zone b would be 30. so you get the breakdown of the price per zip code of course you get farther away the more it is and then the the manual solution would apply if your state doesn't allow this of course real quick so the manual zone excuse me is any state that doesn't uh that goes beyond your set zones or if your state only allows you to do per miles fee uh we use google maps or i use google maps to determine the distance to calculate fee so here's a breakdown customer enters a zip code it's out of your area but you're willing to travel for this for a fee um we'll use google to find the zip code in the middle of that area then calculate the distance from your starting address and then we'll use your per mile rate so 34 miles your per mile rate is 54 per mile one way is 54 cents per mile so the breakdown rounded up travel both ways so you can use this as a um uh beyond the set zones or if your state only allows that to to work i just want to jump in here ronda asked that exact question because in arizona for our travel team we're limited to round-trip mileage um based on the federal employee reimbursable rate so this is exactly how that would work rhonda yep and as a round so it's round trips i think some states are due only one way i'm not sure about that um but um either way you can provide the one-way fee to me or the round-trip fee to me and it's still that calculated distance so it's 34 miles away times 108 and then i round up of course to make things simple excellent um now a couple things to note uh actual miles may differ from the route you drive um maybe you avoided an accident or you end up driving a little bit more so there is that that that um unique scenario where i'm just providing a quick quote um but if there's a little bit less a little bit more driving there's that to kind of consider this a little bit uh the calculation is at the center of the zip code so again i could be driving a little bit more a little bit less than projected google will not use mass transit but it could use toll rolls and it chooses that route at that exact time so your appointment route and traffic may differ so and again you're just providing initial quote um the quickest way possible there might be some differences rush hour versus the time it was actually requested so there might be some differences there here sure so we have the option to do an on-site fee this is if your state allows it basically i have heard of his on-site fee or travel or um uh i get ignored with a better way to describe it on-site fee but basically if you just charge a fee for addition to the travel fee you can choose that here otherwise it'll be ignored if you just do zero um some note arrays allowed to charge kind of surcharge charging chart charging rather um so the the unique thing about the solution is design again i get the customer the quote real quick we don't know or i don't know exactly when the actual appointment will be done but we can't include a message that says you may receive additional fee when realization occurs uh during rush hour time of day during the weekend please contact for us for clarification so no matter what the situation is guys there's going to be something customizable here that's great jason yep um i can't add anything to that but you can have a statement there that says that because obviously we don't know the time or the date that this will be uh signed uh you provide us your per stamp fee um know what fee you can provide and we use that per stamp fee to calculate it [Music] out of service zip codes so in seattle we have several islands only accessible by boat i put these as out of service for me i don't want to travel to that area if you have something similar you can do that you can list them out of service zip codes for example if you have your zone a to zone b or assuming zone a to zone e as a kind of around about 40 miles away from you um but you think that anything beyond 80 miles from you you don't want to service so you have that gap of um between 40 and 80 that you can do as a manual zone um that's where this fits where you can do a manual zone in that gap and it doesn't fit within your normal your normal service zones but it doesn't mean that there's a customer that's 95 miles away that doesn't provide a quote for that customer that makes sense i don't see any questions on it but that's that's that's some detail we can get into on the q a too sure if you live by a nearby state that you're also licensed as a notary uh you can provide that in the solution uh washington has a uh common uh with oregon if you apply for them so if you're in between that border uh we can provide that quote to them as well awesome that'll be in handy if some people are commissioned in three different states so that that could really work out yes um and if if if you are licensed but you don't want to necessarily go there interstate frequently you can also define them as out of service area codes or zip codes rather so it depends on what you want to do um and also if you have washington and portland oregon at the bottom you don't want to go far into portland deep into portland because that takes time and many like travel hours that would happen you include anything that's in that areas out of service zip codes so here i'll just do the breakdown real quick we saw the the initial piece here but this is your customizable oops let's go back one this is your customizable piece here this is the legal text and this is standard here uh this is the calculations can't be customized here and this is the calculations here with your with additional notarization statement here so you can have that there uh the compliance question may the notary follow up with you and then the different examples of the customer gate permission or the customer do not decline permission and as well as the option to continue if they would like the manual break down again um so we have your customizable sentence here and then this piece right here is customizable uh this is system calculations here your breakdown here and then the optional search language is added here so here's the you may receive additional quote fee when the normalization occurs during rush hour time of day so that that just adds on to that paragraph right there so that's the surcharge piece uh owner gets a text as well of the information and then uh example on-site fee added so there's your on-site fee if you're allowed to charge that and of course it adds everything together with the the surcharge fee here customer says no at the end and you provide a thank you message uh here the customer says yes and then you ask for the address so we saw that with the the demonstration there uh you noticed i chose kerry park seattle basically that's not a full address but it leverages google as a place so google can look it up to define it now it's 100 guarantee because you could pick uh you can get a park somewhere in milwaukee um if the customer does that so uh you have to be kind of clear uh careful um for the mo for me i just put kerry park ciel because i have fun with it but for the customer they're probably gonna be entering an actual address yeah they probably won't know that you could do a place right you got the street view you got an option for the customer to choose and verify that that's what they really want to meet opportunity to ask what type of document and an opportunity for the name and then here's your text highlight again drive time check real-time traffic 34 miles away excuse me 34 minutes and 21 miles with a 59 degrees and clear so that current weather current drive times at that exact moment um just for convenience i mean you may not you may not sign at that exact moment but it'd be nice to know what to gauge that as so i also can do a survey uh instead of quote you can text the word survey to that same phone number um and it does a little bit instructions but what's powerful about the survey is you ask three questions scale one to ten and then you can provide a link uh to your uh your public review page so at the very end you can say hey thanks for filling out my survey here's my my link to my google my business that's awesome that's powerful okay so survey so there's your your legal message um kind of instructions on scale one and ten how do you write your overall session i'll give me ten these questions are fully customizable too they're just they're just locked into the scale one to ten question so again ten and then again ten so there's my uh google my business page so the customer can then go to that page and provide a public review gaining uh customer relations and customer respect and everything else you need more public views the more um more business you get more more um turning the right word but uh just better experience and on top of that the notary gets an email um so there's a couple emails that come through so we have oops so we have the email here so we know what what questions what your score was so you can just least understand what's going on that that person completed it you also have the ability to see well that's in there let me look at this one this is another email that gets sent uh when a quote is sent so it's basically the the entire conversation included uh with that that that that customer great that's nice and then you could probably have that have a rule where that get all those quotes get sent to a certain inbox or folder in your inbox so you can keep track of them all in one place yep yeah you can you can definitely set rules it's going to come from um info at robotres.com so my domain right here it's going to come from that it's going to let you know the phone number that completed it some information there so if anything were to come up um this is exactly what we provided them in that details and this again is the visual piece of this the solution this it's big it's a lot going on here but it kind of goes over what the quote is so essentially i do the greeting i ask the zip code i check to see if you're in a license state if no then you're i send that out of state message um if yes then there's the zones the manual zip code and then it goes to the normalized signatures so a lot of a lot of information a lot of steps here um there's the end of the first stage and then there's the second stage it continues on to that you kind of see the details the breakdown um on that uh the next one and this is basically the same except for i have two different plans and we'll go over the plans on on how it works um but basically you have the option if you're open during this time period the customer gets a quote we'll have the option to ask if the customer wants to talk to you right then and there if they say yes we'll call the customer and then forward the call to you immediately at that point if you're in your open hours if you're closed hours then it doesn't do anything um but if in your open hours we'll we'll initiate that call to them immediately so you can kind of complete the job or seal the deal then and then forward that to you so that's in the enhanced plan very similar to the other plan except for that added piece and then this one we haven't gone over this but we have a full voice solution um where you can have a phone tree you can have the so incoming call you have an incoming call to your robot you have the questions here you can one transfer to the notary uh you can two you can do a quote by phone same process light version of what we just saw earlier but you can do a quote by phone and then follow down that kind of similar path uh you can do number three is an option for listening about your information on your company say your award for the current area for the best notary in the area um you can go information about your company option four uh you can go into information about your services if you want um you can define your hours if you have set holiday schedule or set hours you can do you find your hours here and then this one is completely customizable so basically three through six you can have prompts that have that kind of state what uh what your company is what servicing is kind of in just plain terms of what what that is and that works for the phone call now if they chose option one to be transferred to the notary um i first check if you're open if you're not open i send the call to voicemail and i forward that voicemail to you if you're open based off your your set hours that you provide me i'll check the spam score to make sure that this call is not a spam call um it's not funny that i saw a t-mobile ad on the tv that said um spam score uh filtering i forget what their their their was their their name brand is but basically i'm doing the same thing that t-mobile did um if the spam score is greater than 70 they're gonna go automatically to voicemail now that could filter out some good people or some bad people i just want to make sure the option to opportunity to send them to voicemail now if it's less than 70 then the uh notary gets a text that the call is coming to them and then i forward the call to them that's a pretty cool feature because you know not everybody uses text messages so it's nice to have all bases covered yeah and by this text right here the notary gets a text saying the call is coming you can have a special ringtone or special tone to your text message so you know that something's happening and then if you get if you hear that tone and then you know that the call is going to come like five seconds or ten seconds later so an option for both phone and text message text message initiates by the word quote and the word survey so far the only two i have right now but looking at other ideas and then the voice a whole a lot of options here on the voice again you can do a quote by voice you do the zip codes here um next let me show i'm actually doing a kind of a deep dive august 8th so next week if you're interested um there's a deep dive for the phone tree if you're interested in attending i can kind of go into that a little more there um it's on my website we'll go over that a little bit deep a little bit more there but just want to give a breakdown of kind of what we can do what i can do for the voice um piece there excellent okay get rid of this so we got some legal disclosures here so for the texting piece you have to legally advertise the number um let me get rid of the little pointer so this is an example of what the lawyers have written up for me at least um now i'm not providing exactly i'm not a lawyer i can't provide legal advice but looking at the internet and generally research you have to have main key pieces of what you're advertising so you have the company name purpose text message update instructions opt-out instructions excuse me um but this we have to say compliance just like notary law we're we're very familiar with following the law and staying compliant um this is uh one of those steps when you legally advertise your phone number um i embraced it by doing this kind of graphic here you're welcome to do something similar but it is required there this is a breakdown of the lego language provided as an example of course i'm not not a lawyer i can't provide actual legal advice for your your area um but this is what my example has been provided to me i'll skip ahead we can go deep dive into that if you have any questions um these are some mock-ups that i had a graphic person do for me um to embrace the idea of having that uh kind of uh requirement and fulfilling that and kind of least at least a professional way definitely um a privacy policy in terms of required so if you have a website uh privacy policy is required this is um laws passed by congress consumer protection laws that are required to have a privacy page of course as a notary public we have a whole lot of information that we have access to um personal identify information and such uh so there are a couple resources of course legalzoom and legalshield are good resources i went to the symposium last year i met carrie um she's actually a representative from legalshield she offered uh to provide a little bit of help there um in the event that you want to if you don't have terms currently uh that you have an opportunity to uh reach out to her um i'll put her contact in the chat so she's she's a representative for uh legal shield um and she has some good ideas that could help out there of course legalzoom uh they have the opportunity as well um and just like notary public law i mean we need to make sure we're staying compliant so this is part of that requirement uh to be in compliance and then um if you haven't kind to decided to go to the notary subpodium symposium um that's it's a good opportunity to go um that's where i kind of picked up a lot of information last year so if you're still on the fence uh here's a little plug for that it's a good opportunity to go to yeah lots so many great speakers in addition to that you you meet some amazing people this is one of the first times that i got to meet jason in person that's where i got to meet carrie as well the link is there for you so jason i love that you've got this built in here now so um i love the demo that you show this i love how much detail and kind of the legal foundation that you have going on here now if if anybody on this call either or live or on choose a local phone number with your zip code or your area code and your prefix if it's available in that with that area code you can definitely choose that i'm not going to choose a random dallas phone number if you're not in dallas so it's an opportunity to to choose your local phone number you have opportunity to do the quote by text the survey by text and then a feature calling that i call global call block um supposed to be text block not test i have a typo there uh but a text block to where if you're getting spam uh calls obviously as notaries we kind of get the same emails back and forth from spam people um your your opportunity to submit that and we can have that number blocked for everybody down the line nice um what i mentioned about the hands plan you got everything plus the standard plan the live call forward basically that's when you're open and you receive a quote the opportunity to forward that call to you and call that live call forward the ivr phone tree the notary callback so basically you can use your robot phone number to call back that customer so they only interface with one phone number so they know that it's it's you not additional number coming back uh automated quote from a phone call after hours voicemail and then incoming call spam scores so incoming incoming call spam filtering so here's the prices uh set up i have a setup fee so it does take a little bit or a good initiative to get this the initial piece enrolled on the onboarding the programming uh you can break that out between three monthly payments of 75 or the price of 187. once the solution is live its standard plan is 9.99 a month or 17.99 for the enhanced plan plus usage fees so i have that breakdown on my website we kind of go over that too um but basically the text messages aren't free um the google charges each time there's a look at the form each image text each text is done each magic or um address uh distance calculation so all that there's a fee there unfortunately uh and then no long-term contracts pay as you go uh for this one for the week special um i'm gonna drop it down to 175 for the onboarding so 175 one-time fee and then 20 off for the monthly service and usage fees uh for the first three months so that's what uh if you complete now you get your onboarding within a couple weeks or less um you're getting 20 off for middle of august um september and sharing or continue sharing if you think you might reference this what's that we can continue okay so uh we've got some great questions that uh coming from the chat here let's start well and i'll just ask larry since it's the most recent and a couple people have asked can you use your existing phone number so there's a couple options here you can forward your existing phone number to me or to your robot um that's not the best scenario because if they get if they complete a text they may see a text coming from a different phone number um so but it is an option however you can port your number in so if you ever experience with porting or transferring your number for example if you buy if you win with 18 t and you want to move to sprint or whatever you you have the opportunity to port your phone number over so that is an option as well sometimes that can get complicated uh the losing carrier in that example att could provide a little bit of uh resistance resistance and they could make it difficult uh they could extend the time so there are some complications that could go with that uh but it is an option that is available excellent and then let's roll right into that too because a lot of people use google voice so can you will this work with google voice so you'd have to port the number in to the solution so you port the number from google voice over into the solution yes but definitely possible all right great um let me just get to the next question here he says if you have to call the customer back for example if she's in traffic or running late is that done within the platform or just using your normal phone so you have a couple options um if you're on the hands plan um you can definitely call back with the the robot's phone number um and we go over that and the question answers a little bit later um or if you can say that i'm gonna call you up for my cell phone that's an option too as well yeah so you'll have that number right there so you'll be able to just like you can call right from your phone uh is there any time in the future where we can make changes by logging in ourselves uh as i can see that changes might be overwhelming for those who are doing this data entry so is there any way that the notaries at this point can get in and make these customizations themselves not yet i'm trying to find a automated feature i've been working on that i ran into a couple bugs on that so i don't have a way to automate that or to have you change that currently but i'm looking into it excellent if you didn't make a change you just made a request to make a change then mike um ties into this phone number question he says is it common or possible to have a separate number just for quotes and if you don't mind jason i'd like to address this real quick first to just from a marketing perspective guys in other industries it's actually really common to have separate phone numbers for your different advertising so on web on your website just for quotes they might have a separate phone number than in the newspaper ad or things like that and they do that for analytics so they can see which advertisements are working or which promotions are working or where traffic's coming from that's why they do that so yes it's absolutely common and it's absolutely possible which is really where i saw the awesome value of this too is i would have it have a separate phone number on my website that drove leads because i work on search engine optimization i'm driving traffic to to my website to help generate phone calls and quotes so that's where i would have the phone number anything else that you wanted to add on to that jason i know i mean yeah you can you put phone numbers on business cards um you can do a whole host of advertising layers so yeah that works yeah beautiful uh is there okay i got that one jennifer says what happens with blocked phone numbers uh does that impact this at all so for a text obviously you can't block a phone number from a text because it has to have that interaction so there's no blocking phone works for a text for it if it's a call i actually decline blocked phone numbers and say you're coming from a black phone number please unblock or please call back on from an unblocked phone number got it uh and then i forgot to write down who asked it but says if you don't want to customize your messages do you provide any sample text messages that notaries could use i do i have examples let me um so in the onboarding forms let me pull that up real quick so i have some options here to include some examples so text message grading example here out of service example here so basically in the onboarding process you have the opportunity to to include what you want to show here so they could just copy and paste your example if they didn't want to create their own beautiful great question uh julie asks does this work with android phones and iphone [Music] oh yes basically it's text messaging so it works for anyone anything beautiful linda says uh so with questions um i think this is regarding the survey with no is there no opportunity opportunity to leave comments other than a review on the google my business page so that makes sense to you yep okay so not currently because i couldn't find a way that some customers would not opt in for leaving a comment and wouldn't see that end message so if they just stop at the comment question then the program stops they don't get an opportunity to finish out to the end of that that to see the link to the link with the survey yeah gotcha so i had a hard time i tried to fit one in but i had a hard time doing that maybe in one of the guts versions uh tony asks a great question he says can we integrate some sort of payment options into the bot is there any way to integrate a link to make payment and stuff like that so there is i also had a hard time with that as well so i can integrate with stripe um if you're familiar with them i can integrate with stripe but i'm actually the one collecting the money and then at that point it would show my company as the credit card statement so if there ever were to to file the discrepancy on that or uh claim that as a fraud um that could come back so i had kind of halted a little bit on that but technically i think it is possible well as part of the customized text if they just included the link to their own payment solution or their own website payment portal it'll probably do that right yep well as long as it's not long right we're dealing with text messages so the message is even though you can kind of see that my messages kind of go out a little bit we haven't we can't go too far beyond uh what's kind of established got it uh great questions guys uh can you combine the first two questions meaning the survey or the quote jennifer asked can you combine that survey or quote or do they have to that's the trigger word so it's either going to be survey or it's either going to be quote yep that's the key word so basically if you start survey you go down that path till finishes if you start quote you go down that path until it finishes um they kind of have their own uh paths if we back up a little bit so right here here's the quilt one here's the survey one basically it has to finish for you to go into the next the next one and how how i see the survey see if i have my print out you're in a signing table and you find them a business card that says if you want a text or if you want to do a survey text this number and that's kind of how i see that flow kind of working awesome awesome uh let's see patricia says can this program be customizable with everything you have shown except for the notorious fee could somebody opt not to give an exact quote and still utilize the service um probably not i i'd have to probably build something unique to that so probably not ideal for this uh no yeah it would show that it would show the fee it would show the price um however if you want to message me um we can work out a conversation one-on-one we kind of see the use case behind it um we can do it we can give it a new keyboard so it can be request and then that could go down a different path if there's something that that you want there got it um let's see rebecca says curious is this program customizable and adaptable for other mobile industries like carpet cleaning and other like fingerprinting and all the other things that maybe a notary could do so yes um i'm starting out with notaries because i'm of course notary um but the service industry could i don't see anyone using this this field i don't see any customer kind of do it or company kind of doing something like this so theoretically it could be positioned out to other companies or organizations or service industries yeah it's definitely not people taking it to this level for sure with exact quotes some this level of information i love this blazing your own path jason um so kerry asked how much access is needed for our phone to set this up or any uh none because it's a text messaging so that's the best part we're using the native uh app within the phone um either android or ios and as long as the phone can receive uh text and image everything's perfectly fine essentially it's just the phone number um if you break it down it's just a robot a sophisticated robot in the back but it's a phone number that is texting and calling or able to to make or receive calls great so it's not going to drain your phone battery it's not going to access contacts and things like that inside your phone whatever whatever it's just all pure simple text peggy says is it possible to add a note or friendly reminder at the end of any of this messaging talking about um personal protection equipment like masks and safety precautions during covet sure um you can actually include that in your thanks message at the very end so i have the demo still here um so right here this message can be included to include that at the very end if you want now we can't go too far because uh obviously this is that's a that's a lot to say on a text message so you want to be mindful you can't be three paragraphs and in depth there but you want to be mindful of the length uh you want to be mindful of the what words you use um can't you slang because that's not easily translated across multiple uh people uh but you have to use common words maybe abbreviations if you want like the word info you don't have to use the for the full word um but there's some options there to kind of customize that okay excellent and then to address patrice's question she says can this be linked to my green monkey website and is it integratable tom if you don't mind jason i'll answer that so guys this service can be used on any website because all it is is a phone number so if you were to register with jason you get a unique phone number you can post that on any website any business card on your car anything that you want so it can be used anywhere that regard as far as being integrated with tom it's not going to be automate automatically integrated with tom necessarily but anytime you're communicating with people on your phone tom is real easy to transfer those contacts from your phone right into tom so then you could maintain a relationship after the fact tom is not for quoting but it is for it can be used for the relationship after the fact for sure also uh to add on that i can't we're not initiating initiating quotes to the customer via this so we're only accepting incoming um if you want to initiate quotes i mean you can have your your cell phone through tom or through your cell phone you can definitely contact them uh but uh no outgoing initiations uh only incoming initiations and then responding to that uh conversation yep perfect um then mike i love what you're thinking about here is there a way to build a quote for remote online notarization into this as well jason have you um have you thought about that yet i have um it's definitely a thought uh and of course um i listen to your webinars on tuesdays and everything else and of course learning the remote organization is still kind of out there there's still a lot of changes a lot of things going on um in the future maybe we can do something uh that fits within that uh time period or or remote organizations um yeah that would be something i'm looking into excellent and then i think sorry a little bit there as it becomes more standard right because if you have all these one-offs one state's doing this and then another state's doing this and other states doing that it's hard to to build that into the standard piece so as we get more standards industry-wide is easier to do excellent then it looks like the the summary of these is is there a way to integrate a calendar into this so people can actually just book an appointment right from the text message so i i thought of that too um so that gets that gets kind of hard sometimes uh because uh you're always uh fetching new calendar invites real time um if if you didn't want to if you're busy during that time period you have to have a blocked out calendar but it was hard to to integrate that um as it stands right now now it's something in the future that i'm looking at as an option it'll be really cool to where you can say excuse me i'm ready to book i got my quote i got my address i know where to meet and i'm available notary is available at uh 2 pm friday book that time period good to go and it's locked in that'd be cool i don't know where i i run into roblox there on programming that but i think down the line it could have something there sure and for right now i again i think if you're going to customize some of your messaging you could include a link to your calendly or your acuity link as long as it's a tiny one right if you can get the tiny url they can just click that and it would take them to whatever calendar booking system you use right now yep that is an option as well um definitely shorter links you don't want to have a really really really long yeah exactly got to get those tiny urls i think that pretty much sums up the
