in this tutorial I will show you how a signer accepts an online notarization invitation and the steps that they will go through to start an online notarization session when you invite a signer to start an online notarization session they will be sent an email with information on how to start and complete the session the signer will simply click on the email and inside the email they will receive instructions that they will need to follow to prepare for their online notarization they'll need a computer or laptop with a webcam and microphone the last four digits of their social security number a smartphone with a camera and internet access their driver's license and a credit card to pay for the notarization fee whenever the signer is ready with those items they will simply click the blue get started button once they click that button they will be directed to the one notary platform and if it is their very first time using the platform they will be prompted to provide a password for their one notary account the signer will then have to agree to the Terms of Service in order to get started once the signer has logged into the one notary platform in the my document section of the platform they will see their pending notarization sessions they will simply click here in the action section the next screens will walk them through the steps needed to prepare for their notarization session on this first screen the signer can either upload or update the document that needs to be notarized if the notary has already uploaded the document the signer will see the document listed here however if the signer needs to update that document or if the signer needs to upload a document they can click here and then select the document that they want notarized once they've done that they will click the save and Next button on the next screen the signer will list their personal information the signer will also need to list the last four digits of their social security number and they will need to list their home address now if the signer has changed their residential address less than 30 days ago the signer will need to enter their previous address once this information is complete they'll click Save and next the signer will then need to answer the following secure identity verification questions they will have two minutes to answer the questions and the signer will need to answer the questions carefully to avoid any delays in their online notarization session the next thing the signer will need to do is verify their photo ID and this is done by a link that is sent to their smartphone so the signer will need to input their cell phone number so that they can receive that link an ID verification link will be sent to the signers smartphone the signer will need you check their text messages to receive that link and then click on the link in their text messages once the webpage has opened up the signer will just need to input the four digit security key listed on their computer in to the four digit security key field on their cell phone and press submit once that four digit verification code has been verified the signer will then need to take a picture of their photo ID the signer will need to place their ID on a dark flat surface in a well-lit room position their camera directly over the ID and do their best to avoid glare the signer will be prompted to take a photo of the front of their ID a signer can then decide if they want to use that photo or retake the photo once the signer is happy with the front side of their ID they will hit use photo and then they will be directed to take a photo of the back of their ID again once the signer is happy with the photo of their ID they will simply hit the use photo button and once the ID verification is successful the signer can hit the blue proceed button on their computer on the next screen the signer will be made aware of the cost for the online notarization the signer will then be prompted to enter their credit card details for payment on the next screen the signer will be provided with information about the notary that will be completing their online notarization session the signer will need to wait on this page until the notary starts the online notarization session
