[Music] hello everybody welcome back and today I'm we discuss how we look at vectors in our vectors similar to a variable but it's how we store multiple elements of information in memory first of all iterate by one each time at 102 103 and 104 and 105 so that's got one two three four five six elements and then so I click run I know that my vector is now installed into and the global environment and it's got sick 126 elements so say now I want to keep my vectors so I know this 6,000 so I want to give my vector and Nate and a couple names so use the names function and you pass then the existing vector you just created something called back one then outside of that we're going to then use so it's basically same apply names to the vector one and vector this time we're going to use the assignment placeholder again so to put in memory when use a combined function and let's just beside some arbitrary name values to each one of these so we're going to call them Gary's is all scary real that's me and then i'm using wife Carrie Carrie result now I'm going to space down after a comma if you put space you can clear right on the next line capital R am results Eric my dad and dot and let's use my mama's so I run those two lines again now my vector is got names attached to said later so if i print this out now i'll expect to see a vector with names associated yeah so Gary result variable over another the same thing applies for vectors really so let's create a vector 2 and each value here that's in back to what MC some use an assigned six elements this one and it looks back to console console whereas this is in memory or doesn't know what to do that and then when we'll go print now it does yeah that makes sense so that gets printed directly out that stores it in memory and then we use print to actually return it so yeah that's just a little on Bates for operations but you can do a lot more a lot more sophisticated operations than that allows just to give you a flavor so in the next section as this has been life in quite comprehensive section so far what we'll do is we'll move on to something called vector indexing and vector slicing so selecting certain elements out of your vector but as you can see if you had defected to in an Excel spreadsheet this is how it look essentially so we've got perfekt one back to and it's just rows of data so it's going to be 101 102 103 104 105 106 six islands yep but one two three four five to six and all I did with the vector operations is I'm saying that kinds that and that should replicate exactly what just done that so if you go back to the console window you'll find that those results are the same so let me just use this split screen to do this so and what I just done here is 101 then I specify I'm going to start going out okay slight snag one 22 23 24 105 so yeah the last value there should be six thirty and it is yeah 6 30 matches exactly with that 613 but yet I just it's analogous really to just rows of
