Oh you hi guys in today's video I want to talk about the difference between a print release photographer and a print photographer a little backstory when I had my first child 10 well 11 years ago we went to a photographer with a $75 sitting fee my thought was I can afford this this is great so we went had our pictures done we waited three weeks to get a phone call to come in and proof our images and choose our images and choosing our images we went through about 20 different poses or 20 different images and I chose four of those pictures out of the 20 in choosing the four I chose one 11 by 13 1 8 by 10 - 5 by 7s and some Wallis my price that day was over $700 on top of the $75 sitting fee that I had already paid at that point I felt somewhat taken advantage of and I also felt like I was leaving my child behind and leaving those pictures that I had no print release and no copyright and to be honest to this day if I wanted to see those they're gone the photographer deleted him after a year so and once I started doing photography I kind of thought to myself you know I don't ever want a client to feel that way as a mother I don't want my clients to feel the way that I felt when I walked away from that that experience so we set up as a print release photographer which means you come in we take your images we charge you the 1 fee that you pay when you come in and then you own your print release to your images therefore you're not having to go through us to come in and choose your images and sit down and choose four or five pictures out of your 15 20 images whatever number the session is guaranteed with a mini session I think is 12 with a regular session we average about 18 to 20 images so we're choosing the best images and we're giving them to you so one of our biggest issues in setting up this way is we really do it to benefit the client but in the misunderstanding where a lot of people have gone to other photographers as in you can go to Sears or Walmart when you go in and sit down and you choose your images you're only choosing four or five we're giving you the print release to develop any of your images and you choose your favorites and you print print those and also that kind of eliminates they're very expensive professional printing companies when we send our clients their images through their email they're able to go into the we go through a site called path they're able to go through path and they can develop their professional prints for it's a dollar for 4x6 two dollars for 5:07 five dollars for an eight-by-ten so it's very inexpensive you're not being you know paying fifty five dollars for an eight-by-ten or $120 for two 5x7 it's it's a very discounted we do it at we set it up at cost also when our clients want to do canvasses we offer to do those for them because a lot of times in printing a canvas especially with my work I do different angles and different styles like the l.o.v.e the love shot with the baby on the ground it's awkward when you go to print it out with the canvas so we have to choose the sizes and stretch the image a lot so we offered to do that at no charge for our clients and that way they're getting good quality canvas prints through us at cost okay guys thanks so much for watching our video today I hope this helps you understand the difference between a print release photographer and a print photographer like us on facebook at rachel test photography on instagram rachel touch underscore photography and subscribe to our channel thanks guys y'all have a great day
