hey everyone Emily from the penne mama if you are joining me on YouTube hop on over to the blog its WWE penny mama calm this week on boot camp we are learning all about registration marks for print and cut registration marks are made by your printer making it so when you send your paper through the silhouette to be cut it'll know exactly where to cut it because your printer was had printed the lines perfectly and now your silhouette is reading the lines and you'll have a perfect printing cut how do yours registration marks is you open up page set up over here it's this page icon right here you first want to make sure you have show print border I'll show you you want to show your print order and you want to show your cut border so this way you know when you send it through your printer everything in this gray box is what your normal printer will print everything in this red box is what the silhouette is capable of printing so this print border is importantly doing printing cuts so you know if you have something outside of the border it's not going to cut your design correctly and you also want to make sure you have the correct size of paper selected and you can have your current printer paper selected you can have a 12 by 12 whatever your printer and whatever kind of size of paper you are sending through your printer you want to have that selected so that you don't say you're actually printing in nine by twelve and I have it selected for twelve by twelve if I were to send this on a nine by twelve paper it would be only about it would only print about there and so make sure you always check your paper size and always have show your print order and your cut border are done and registration marks are used for a true print and cuts of your printer that's the biggest thing that's where this registration marks and registration marks are found in this third tab over here and right now they're off and I'll walk you through turning them on and how to use them and I'm gonna make some sticker decals for my little guy who's a room that he can use to put on his dresser so I'm going to use sticker paper and I'm going to print on sent through my Silhouette Cameo to be cut so he now stickers so what we want to do is on this third tab I bought these jet decals or designs from the silhouette design store and then I just put them on here and colored it was so I knew what I was working with check the paper size check the of the print border and the cut border on go over to the third tab and we're going to want to turn the registration marks on to silhouette cameo type 1 okay so all these marks up here in gray these X marks this is your registration marks and you have one down here you want to make sure that none of your design is in those registration marks otherwise it'll your so it will have a hard time writing the marks and make sure that it's clear down here you can switch the thickness the link I always just set it to the default settings because I've always worked for me and if you have a certain parameters you want it to be and you can try that but I usually just do the default settings and I've never had a problem thus far and then I would just send this through my print then I would go to print and cut file you want to send it to your printer and then this will print it just like this and then always wear your arrow is pointing you're going to take that after you print it the way the arrows pointing up then that's the way you send it through your Cameo and then it will print so this will be printed out like you'll find your jets print it on there and you'll find this hole markings printed on there you send it through and the silhouette will go along and it will cut all along this area that you have printed over here if we're going to put these flowers same thing we're going to go to the registration marks I'm going to turn them on and then you would just if there was if this design was up here I would just move to design around a little bit so that you're not touching your registration marks print these cute little designs off and then send them to my cameo to be cut pretty simple print and cut is really fun it can be a little nerve-racking and scary but it's really fun and you can make some fun designs you can do some fun things with that I just made a banner for my little boy's birthday using print cut and it was just it's just fun to play around and design your own things so that's all I have for you this week turn tune in in two weeks to learn all about using the transfer the transform panel and silhouette studio thanks guys [Music]
