is mark Dawson self-publishing formula also known as self-publishing 101 worth your money and your time I actually purchased the course and have gone through the whole thing and I'm going to tell you exactly what my experience was and whether or not I feel it's going to be right for other people so stay tuned hello welcome to the channel I am Chandon this videos light departure from what I typically do in that this is about self-publishing however it does make sense for this channel because this channel is about making money online and self-publishing is an avenue for doing that specifically publishing books on say amazon so following that strategy when I was publishing a book myself I was looking for people to teach me how to do it and I ended up taking two different courses one of which I review in another video and it did not go well the second product that I looked at the second training course was mark Dawson self-publishing formula and I actually enjoyed it and I'm gonna detail exactly why here in just a moment now before we dive in too deeply let me first say that I am NOT being compensated for this review I'm not monetizing in any way so far as I'm aware mark Dawson does not have an affiliate program for this product so even though I'm about to give you some positives at the time of this recording there's not gonna be any links that will make me money that might change especially if they see this video and they decide I mean this guy is worth giving an affiliate link to hint hint that would be great at the moment I'm not making money off of this this is purely my true experience that I'm just sharing with you so having said that let's get right into it who is Mark Dawson he is a self-published author he has sold several books on Amazon for an exorbitant amount of money at the end of the day what he's done differently is learn how to market the product in a way that's successful meaning that he's found a way to sell his books on Amazon in a way that turns him a significant amount of profit this is something that most authors don't know they need to do in fact when you sign up with an actual publisher they end up saying you got to do this anyway and then they take a percentage so basically publishers do almost nothing for you especially in this in the day of Amazon and ebooks publishers do very little for you these days so what mark Dawson does is discuss the strategy he uses spells it all out we're talking websites funnels email marketing he goes through a whole lot of and I'll show you the coarsest here in a moment and why it's a huge value and he shows you that this is the process he does he even shows you some of the books he's done it with his actual funnels these are things that you don't see in the other self-publishing courses and when you actually research Mark Dolson you'll see that he really is a successful author that's what he's best at the marketing side is coming in secondary as you saw in another video I pointed out somebody who basically listed themself as a CEO first and a publisher fourth mark Dawson is a publisher first this guy's making a lot of money selling books that's the kind of person you want to learn from how did he do it considering he did it on his own he spells it all out here he has several courses here what his ads for authors which I have not taken however a friend of mine who I recommended take mark Dawson's courses my my friend has many books that he's written and has published on Amazon and is looking to take it to the next level to figure out how to sell more copies he's taking the answer off his course and said it was decent that he and he knew a lot of it but there was things in there he didn't know so he did help him it wasn't like an overwhelmingly positive review from him but he did say he got some stuff out of it he my friend and actually a family member are lined up to take the self-publishing one-on-one course that I took it's currently not available if we expand this we'll see that it's already had expanded here we go we scrolled down here says join the waiting list this was not the case when I took it I don't know why there's a waiting list although he tends to be very interactive with the people who signed up because he also has a Facebook group that he is highly engaged in I am a member of that group because I purchased the course and it he definitely interacts with you it was very positive experience there but the course is very you know direct about this is marketing you know writing the book that's what you want to do but at the end of it you want people to read that book and the only way you're gonna do that is through getting people to know about it to see it so what does that mean well let's take a look at the course itself I'm not gonna show any of the content just simply the titles so you can see what this is really about now as you can see I've gone through them that's why they're all checked and they're gray so a little bit harder to see so hopefully this won't be too difficult to read I'll zoom in just to make it a little bit better the very first thing we see is the introduction itself it's ten minutes I mean there's a lot of content in here you're going to see when you starts talking about the website here it's a 22 minute 23 minute video there's communicating with the readers building a mailing list 30 minutes social media accounts 25 minutes almost a half an hour there and so on and it just goes and goes and goes there's a pre-publication phase about building your book and there's a lot of content here there's a video that's over an hour another video just under an hour we can see here 65 minutes 56 minutes the book cover alone 46 minutes there's a huge amount of content here and it wasn't fluff it's not like they're just talking about nothing it's like these are the places we went this is these are the costs that it's gonna you're gonna expect there are some tips now some of these do have some guest speakers some guest creators that have doing the videos and they sometimes do sell their products and you get a discount but at the end of the day from my own experience this was spot on the the places that go for grit getting the book cover created in Prague places I had already researched and we're looking at which told me I was on the right track we go down to you know discussing some of the Amazon stuff like should you go exclusive should you go to other platforms as well which is what wide means and then they dive into that more depth and again these aren't tiny videos we've got a 16 minute video 14 minute video the going wide sections a little bit shorter then there's generating traffic and there's a 22-minute video 40 minute video these are some very in-depth discussions and guides and tutorials on how to generate traffic and how to go about this process goes into advanced teams and launching for your book you there's getting reviews and then there's this a gigantic library here as you see I'm scrolling I didn't go through all of these I didn't need to that cover different technologies you can use for launching your book there's the the KTB print-on-demand there so how to set up your own domain how to use Wix how do you Squarespace WordPress again if you're using one of these you don't have to watch the others right if you're doing a WordPress site you don't need to worry about squares base or Wix but they didn't know what you're gonna use or what you gonna have available so what do they do they didn't go cheap they didn't go lazy they covered all of them they even have leadpages when it comes to mailing campaigns they did MailChimp for an hour convertkit for an hour and a half mailer light for almost an hour and a half like they didn't go lazy here I love this it blew my mind that the content was so in depth I'm so powerful that they didn't try to exclude anyone that I personally felt that passing us off to a family member who's not super tech savvy I felt like they were gonna be very successful with this program and again I make no money on that this is just simply that I felt this person would be successful with and again there was a family member my friend as well I felt these are things that they can use there's a lot of information here it's ridiculous so I can't go too in-depth obviously but I hope you can hear the enthusiasm in my voice I love this course I've taken a lot of digital courses in my time and this is by far one of the best I've ever had and the thing that got me was that it was not nearly as expensive as a lot of the ones out there if you look at the other video I did I'm self-publishing that course was fifteen hundred bucks this course when I bought it a year ago was about five hundred so it was substantially less and I got ridiculously more amounts of information and guidance it was so helpful it was extraordinarily helpful I I can't say enough I love this course and I do literally recommend this even when I'm not paid for it I think it's brilliant I think it's great there will be a link in the description to it now that might end up being an affiliate link in the future I can't guarantee that at the moment it isn't and I don't think it will be for many months to come so this is an unendorsed review at the time of recording I really highly recommend it it is roughly 500 at least when I took it I don't know what the price is now so if that's a bit much I'll try to find some alternatives to list in the description that will be cheaper and I don't necessarily know how if there will be as effective of this or not but I'll try to get you some cost-effective alternatives if you get on the waiting list and are waiting for this if you have something that you want to do in the meantime so for now that's it I I would highly recommend getting on the waiting list and jumping in this as quickly as you can if you're trying to publish this will teach you a lot this will - you won't minister make you to us an overnight best-selling author but it will teach you a lot of the stuff you need to be able to be a best-selling author as a self-published person with that I hope you found this helpful I really honestly think you should go with this product I liked it a lot but again you are your own person you are responsible for your own decisions research it some more if you like it great I I think you'll be successful with it but again it's all about what you do right I can't guarantee anything nor can mark Dawson but I think that this will set you up with the tools to be successful if you use them correctly above and beyond any of the other products I've encountered so having said that check the description for links and I'll set all
