the irs.gov website and i'm going to type in ein to keep it simple so i can go straight to it and yes my background is dark i'm aware i'm just freestyling remember i am totally doing me in in this entrepreneur space because perfection doesn't get anything done and we are team doers a family of doers so okay so um basically it's going to give you all of the steps number one determine your eligibility you may apply for ein online if your principal business is located in the united states or u.s territories the person applying online must have a valid tax payer identification number ssin 10 i10 ein you are limited to one ein per responsible party per day understand the online application you must complete this application in one session as you will not be able to save and return at a later time your session will expire to 15 minutes of inactivity and you will need to start over submit your application on after all validations are done you will get your ein immediately upon completion you can then download save and print your ein confirmation notice we will there's a way to actually correct your ein also or update it or change the address which we want to prevent because we want to have a commercial address but sometimes you just need to that doesn't take place online you call and there is a process and a way to do that and we can get into that later time but right now we're going to click apply online and you know this proverbial box that always pops up no matter when what you're doing on the irs.gov website and then um important information before you begin do i need the ein do i need a new ein so this is information that is would be valuable if you don't already know if you don't have an ein and you're an llc in a corporation you definitely need one you can also get one as a sole proprietor so you don't have to use your social security number for identification purposes for your business um but we are talking about incorporations and llcs um because we typically always pivot into building business credit and corporate credit so we choose to focus on llcs and corporations for that and her experience inc is a corporation so i wanted to point out what this says right here it says what type of legal structure is applying not natalia's applying or you're applying or a person's applying but what type of legal structure is applying for any ein i like the terminology that's super significant especially with corporations in the llc's partnerships and that type of thing is very relevant to why we choose aol season and corporations to even build corporate and business credit and then click continue and so i am going to do complete a c court and that is your generic or um your general type of corporation unless you change it so you could do personal service incorporate a corporation a s corp um different types of levels of corporation always do the regular one the corporation and i'll do the s corp later because this is dealing with taxes the irs and this determines how your taxes are passed down whether it's passed down directly to the incorporation only or is it passed down to the incorporation and the officers and how it's taxed like that it changes how it's taxed and how many times you're taxed because if you're taxed at a corporation level and at the officer level you are being um taxed more than once obviously um so i like the s corp and i'll get into that in another video but it's something that i wouldn't apply for you don't apply for here and so you wouldn't select it until you are ready to fill the form out and i think the forms of 523 don't quote me on that do not um if you know exactly what the form is just drop it in the comments um i think that's what it is um may not be though but anyway so i'm going to choose a corporation then i'm going to continue please confirm your selection confirm your selection corporation as a type of structure applying for ein what is a corporation a corporation is a person or a group of people who establish a legal entity by filing articles of incorporation which we did with north carolina for her experience inc we did that today i know i said in the video i was going to do it yesterday anyway um it's it's done it's in process it's in motion uh with the state secretary of uh secretary of state granting it certain legal powers rights privileges and liabilities what it is not a corporation is not a sole proprietorship or partnership we know that though because we're following the videos um what is the corporation why is the corporation requesting an ein as if it has a voice follow along that's very important how they identify corporations all right so start a new business period that is typically going to be our reason select this option if you're beginning a new business hired employees banking purposes that i had to do this before so um when i first started i know i do that i'm gonna work on that um just before i get ready to talk so but before um i had to change all of my stuff because i didn't have anybody walking me through anything step by step i had to figure it out on my own and trial and error years of it for some of this stuff so i've been studying and researching business and corporate credit for three years consecutively um so anyway we're starting a new business that's going to be the one that we typically choose and then let me see if this actually populate yeah okay so what i'm gonna do is for one i think for this section what i'm going to do for the authentication process we know that this is a step i'm going to go ahead and snip it actually you see this this is the information we're going to put in i'm going to put my first name in my last name in i am going to put in my social security number i am the ceo or other corporate officer who can legally bind the corporation i am a third party applying for ein on behalf of this corporation we are typically always going to select this one uh your middle initial is not necessary or your middle name and then if you have a sus uh suffix then you want to select that so for the social security part i'm going to stop the video and then i'm going to
